This is the bleakest Dollar Tree location I’ve ever visited. To provide context, I’m used to Dollar Tree stores in the state where I live, and I went to this place due to being in the area. Let’s just say that the wait times for checkout were lengthy and the cashier’s attitude was stank/insolent.

I'm not sure why exactly, but it appears by the look of certain shelves that this store may be getting robbed. I was highly irritated to come seeking to exchange and get a specific product to see that it was nowhere in sight and usually, I think it would be in abundance.

The personal care items, bath soaps, toothpaste, etc are behind the check-out counter, I guess because of thefts. Just ask the clerk!

I'm not a bigger dollar store shopper but when I do go, it's usually for random things. This store always has what I'm looking for, no matter how random.I will also say that the cashiers are rather pleasant given the traffic that they get.

If I can give this store a negative star rating I would. My sister has been missing for weeks and is an employee there. Myself and other family members have visited the store asking for info. and if she's been working. The response we got from the General Manager was "I'm too busy to check." and when I called again the GM says she wasn't there and wouldn't provide her name as the manager. It's clear that they do not care about their emoloyees and are super ghetto and disrespectful!!! As a whole this location has the worst management and are the most disrespectful, unhelpful service interaction you will ever receive in the city of DC! Expect to get cussed out and stand in a 30+ min line to check out. This store is the absolute worst! Sorry for anybody who shops here.

I went to Dollar Tree to look for reading glasses, the young lady working the door told me to sit down in her chair and she went and found the reading glasses. She was sweet as pie lol

Dollar tree is absolutely horrible. The shelves are never stocked. Today the workers were outside smoking and security was guarding the door. I said excuse me she says the store is closed. Lady it’sNot even 7:30 pm yet. Store doesn’t close til 8pm. SMH So now you are closing early. Just close the store!!’

I got there at 7:40 in hopes to pick up a few quick things. I was locked out by the security guard along with at least 12 other people because they said they were closed. When we replied it's only 7:40 and people are still in there she said sorry the manger said we are closed because there are a lot of people in there. There were no more than usual. I did look into the window. This is really bad business.

I wanted to give recognition to the cashier that assisted me today at this Dollar Tree store. Her name was Ms. Talia, and she was very professional and patient today as she assisted me with my items. Thank you Ms. Talia! I also wanted to add the store is very well organized and clean considering the amount of customers that visit the store each day, so shout-out to all the employees at the Dollar Tree on Benning Ave. for a job well done.

They have a good selection of products MOST of the time. If they don't have what you want (& if it's not out of season...) just wait/ask abt the next truck delivery date. The staff are pretty friendly except maybe the "transients" who only stay for less than a month. They are not ratchet, unless customers are rude. Quality is hit or miss, but pretty darn good overall for a dollar 🤑

This Dollar Tree location has really stepped up their game!The store is clean, organized, fully stocked with merchandise, and fully staffed when I visited.There is security at the door to watch your bags while you shop.The cashiers are more professional.The customers are not as rowdy, rude, loud, and disrespectful as before. Did not witness any shoplifting either.They have a wide variety of name brand bite size candies (York Peppermint patties, Snickers, Butterfingers, Reeses Cups) and others.Dollar General sells the same candies, but theirs were on for $1.00, instead of $1.25.Their craft isle was fully stocked with many craft items.The store have Fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Mardi Gras supplies. They also have a selection of Hallmark cards.Looks like I am back in business at my local Dollar Tree instead of going to Maryland or Virginia location. The Metrobus X2 and X9 takes me there.The store closes at 8:00 pm Mon-Sat, and closes at 7:00 pm on Sun.

Went in there today trying to pick up last minute candy after workThe cashier 𖤐 is very unprofessional an rude towards children probably because she has mini security to protect her nuff said about her I knew it was going to be a problem before I walked in but there was a elderly woman stocking when I went in an was very respectful that’s why I gave 3 star because of her she even out of the spiritual world was frustrated with the other employee I felt it🧙‍♀️ 🌙🍄🕯🔮

It does not need to smell like strong Lysol at the entrance to the store. You do not need to spray that mess, especially so heavily. Very counterproductive IMO, since we supposed to be protecting our lungs. Not a reassuring smell at all. Chemicals are bad.

Stopped in here to find decor/party items for my event and most of the shelves were practically empty! I also literally had to lift unorganized things up to find what I needed. This store needs a major restock of items and structure. The cashier was very nice however.

This store is near my house but I will drive to Maryland to shop for a better experience.The store mang Taniekia is the worst manager I've witnessed her cursing a customer out today and because she said she was off the clock she was in her right to speak like she felt like.If she is the type of person you want to represent your brand I certainly don't want to spend my money with you,if someone from corporate reads this feel free to reach out to me.

Worst Dollar Tree store ever, and I love the Dollar Tree. Nothing on the shelves. Employees standing around talking, who did not appreciate being interrupted when I had a question. The cashiers seem overtaxed (long lines). This location has an overall disorganized and disheveled feeling that leaves you feeling like you need a shower. It would take so little to make me come back though: organize, put items on the shelves, and better customer service. Come on Dollar Tree, you are worth it.

I don't want to say anything negative.....but that's the ONLY dollar Tree Store that makes their customers leave their BAGS @ the door!I only go there when I don't want to travel too far After leaving work!I work in DC but SHOP in Maryland mainly because they treat ((US)) you better!It's really sad!!!!!!And the store is NOT stocked up well

So happy to see that they are doing work to the store, but you should really add a floating cashier for when the line gets backed up and busy hours. Understanding that you are the only store doesn't mean that you should hold your customers hostage like this.

This Dollar Tree has a lot of challenges. It is in a socio economically depressed area and the store is almost always trashed. The selection is very hit and miss. Some staff are helpful and courteous and some are not. I usually avoid going to this particular location.

This was a large and spacious Dollar Tree. They had a great selection of items including vegan, gluten free items by Loma Linda. I'd never heard of such brand let alone the fact they even CARRIED plant based foods, so I bought three. They're only a dollar plus tax. What could it hurt? The lines were long and weren't zippy, but my cashier Carolyn and I had a pleasant chat as she rang me up. I found everything I needed, and then some. I'll return again.

It has a lot of potential. It's just terribly understaffed. The people that are there don't want to be there. And that's just what the store looks like. The area is terrible, all jokes aside. It's just ok in a pinch. Just lower your expectations.

The store manager is very rude towards customers (abrasive/loud). The shelves are half empty and what product that is available is tossed all over the place. Too dirty and messy for a store; I've seen cleaner garage sales. I will not be going back to this location EVER. The upside (which has nothing to do with the store) is there's a huge Payless shoe store in the same strip mall. Would not give this store ANY stars or rating.
