The staff at District Dogs Navy Yard location were so kind and saved the day when our rescue, Sissy, who always travels with us, was having a hard time in our hotel. Our hotel room was sandwiched between a barking dog on one side and a crying baby on the other and she wasn’t able to relax. Doggy daycare was just what she needed. Thank you for your compassion and kindness!

This was the worst and most expensive groom I’ve had in six years of owning my maltipoo! After having gone three times previously, I trusted that they would be able to look at the past photos in their system when I said to groom like we had in all previous cuts. They instead chose to completely chop off all his hair, including his tail and ears! He was not matted so this was completely unnecessary. They were horrible to deal with in the aftermath, refusing to acknowledge their errors and tried blaming me for a miscommunication that happened on their end. You tell me if you think this groom (before and after pic) is worth $150 + tipGo anywhere else!

I've heard so many terrible things from customers and former employees. Your first time in, the groomer Myeshia intentionally under quotes and you'll have to pay almost double what you expected when you return to pick up your dog. One person said they refused to give their dog back unless they paid in full. I've also heard from employees that the NE location experienced 3 feet of flooding before the big flood that killed all the dogs. The owner didn't make any changes to ensure dog safety and didn't even throw anything away that was covered in sewage. They have too many dogs in daycare and less protocols to cap the number than petco daycares. District dogs priority is money, not dogs or customer service.

We’ve been going to Myeshia for grooming since Distict Dogs came to the Navy Yard and I can’t say enough. Our dog Earl gets excited to see her every time. She listens to what you want and gives you realistic expectations.

I'm really bummed out and have to share this experience with the grooming place where I took my dog, Buddy. The whole situation was a mess from the start. They told me to book my appointments online, but then, when I got there, a different employee said she could book it for me next time. This left me totally confused about their process. The real trouble came when I made an appointment for 2 pm, based on what the second employee told me. But, I never got a confirmation email, and it turns out the appointment was actually at 1 pm. I got there at 1:30 pm, thinking I was early, but they charged me a $50 late fee. I tried explaining the mix-up, but they didn't budge. The way the manager acted really added insult to injury. As I was trying to sort out the confusion and explain it wasn't my fault, the manager was completely disinterested, busy on their phone and not paying attention. They were so unhelpful and dismissive, showing no care for the situation or how it was affecting me and Buddy. It was like they didn't care at all about their customers or the pets. I wanted to let others know about this - it just wasn't fair, especially to Buddy.

Really disappointed about their costumer service. I came in three times and each time there was a problem with my grooming reservation. At first they told me I had to change the reservation through my portal and that they are NOT able to help me, but then another lady said that she could change it for me. I never received a confirmation email, I though it was at 9am because she told me so but since I didn’t receive a confirmation email she said it was at 8am and charged me $50 cancellation fee. I understand why they must charge it, but I was there at 8:30 and had a genuine confusion. The business had zero willingness to help me find a solution, they told me they had room for a groom at 9 but I would still have to pay the late fee and the service. They did not care about my puppy, my time or the money they charged me.The manager is extremely rude and had ZERO intention of helping us.My review is based on my experience and all opinions expressed are my own.

Myeshia did a wonderful job with our 6mo Portuguese water dog. We saw her for her first partial cut and more recently for her first full hair cut. As you can see from the before picture she really needed it! I can tell the staff really cares about the dogs and I know our pup is in good hands.

Brought my two dogs here after a grooming hiatus. Scheduling was very easy and I am glad they have availability 7 days a week. Myeshia took great care of my dogs, and even finished their groom well ahead of the estimated timeline. They both came back looking sparkling clean and smelling fresh. We'll be back in 6 weeks! Thank you!

Took her for boarding while we were on a business trip and absolutely regretted bringing her here. We gave the staff specific instructions on how we wanted her to be fed because she was transitioning from dry to wet food along with her receiving bone broth. These are the pictures that they would send us throughout the day and wouldn’t say anything to us until the report card became available and we would see that they were marking that she wasn’t eating and that she was shy. So after the first day of her not eating I called and asked if they would please try hand-feeding her to see if she would eat they said that they would try. After day 2 it was still the same thing reported that she wouldn’t eat so I called again because at this point I am very concerned and worried about why my dog is being lethargic and I asked them if they tried to hand feed her like agreed on the phone and they said no. Mention everyday they threw away the food even if your dog doesn’t eat so the food is constantly being wasted.Everyday the pictures were getting worse and whenever I would get the chance to I would login to watch the video and it just made me feel sick knowing that there’s absolutely nothing I could do for my dog and the thought of her starving.Other dog owners have had good experiences but unfortunately mine wasn’t the best and I never returned back. Also they were very pricey for 3 days of boarding we paid around $800.

We have taken our poodle to Myeshia at District Dogs Navy Yard for grooming for over a year now. She always makes him look so good and dapper. We would especially recommend any poodley dogs to go to Myeshia for their grooming needs, but I'm sure her work with other dogs is incredible too! We particularly loved the mowhawk look she gave our boy for his birthday 🎉

Three stars because it was a good haircut, and the staff were pleasant and professional, but they’re grossly overpriced.… for an 8lb dog who got typical bath services, his teeth brushed, and a sheer cut it cost me $175! And then they had the audacity to ask for an 18-22% tip at checkout AND had people’s Venmos on the counter in case you wanted to tip the bathers! Not sure what kind of imported, clarified spring water they used to bathe my guy or what European salon this groomer trained at that almost $200 wouldn’t cover everyone’s salaries and services and they felt that asking for tips for everyone was appropriate, but I won’t be going back there again. There are far better and more reasonable options in DC.

I was hesitant to receive services with the knowledge that a staff killed a dog a few weeks ago by stricking the pup. However there are new staff members so I have It a chance. The haircut was okay but I’m 90% sure they didn’t wash my dog and they certainly didn’t clip her nails. I won’t be back a I encourage you to not waste your money.

We have loved District Dogs ever since we took our pup to Puppy Basics training. Now we take him to daycare and have done both structured and unstructured. The staff is very friendly, accommodating, and I love being able to watch him play on the cameras. Definitely one of the best places to take your dog!

Myeshia is the best, and she cares so much about the dogs she grooms. She always does a great job on my doodle. I like that she makes time to listen and takes time to explain how to keep her coat from getting too matted. Doodle coats are not easy to maintain, but Myeshia always manages to keep my doodle looking cute even when she has to cut her hair short. Look how happy my little girl is after her grooming! :)

Myeshia did such an incredible job grooming our sweet Jovie! We love District Dogs for so many reasons, including their great grooming services. Jovie isn’t the best with getting groomed but they do such a great job and help make her feel calm and safe. 10/10, would recommend!

My dog, Mamba, loves this place. He is in structured daycare right now, but I love how District Dogs gives him one on one attention and works to prepare him for regular daycare. Mamba would literally cry when we dropped him off at his old daycare and I just knew something was wrong. Here, he is happy to be dropped off and we get a very detailed report of how his day went.

My 1-year old hound mix loves the Navy Yard District Dogs. The staff is all really friendly, great with the dogs, and very attentive to them. My pup goes once a week. He's always super excited to get there and totally exhausted from playing all day when I pick him up!

Was hoping for a better experience since this location is closer to our home, but overall I’m not happy with his grooming. His front nails are still very long. They barely cut him because he’s still a puppy, yet we were charged $145. This doesn’t seem reasonable at all. In addition to the service and the price, he came home whining. I’m not sure what happened during his visit but this is not how he acted during his first grooming at a different groomer. He is pretty much a home dog and we monitor him 24/7, so this change in mood had us worried all day. Thankfully, he’s back to his normal playful self today. Won’t be a repeat customer here.

Took him today for full grooming - the workers were very nice individuals, but the haircut was really bad, uneven on every side and batchy. Paid over $200 including tips. Very sad 😔 (attached pictures: him before and after the haircut)

I cannot put into words how amazing of a space this was for my dog's birthday party. I didn't know that birthday party packages were offered here, and I was above and beyond blown away by the space, service, and endless goodies that were supplied as part of the package. DC needed a dog party location, and they've certainly got one now! The staff were super helpful ahead of time with planning and were immensely attentive during the event.

Such a wonderful place for a pup! They helped me throw the most fabulous graduation party for my dogo. Everything was perfect thanks to Lyssa! I can't wait to throw my next dog event here :)

Typically my experience is excellent. This time it was just average, maybe an off day. They rushed cut my pups claw and the duck aw is raggedy. Kinda of broken. They charged me my own shampoo, which they never did before. I’ll go back because it’s so convenient. I will just ask they pay closer attention!

Terrible dog care, even worse customer service. We contacted this location asking about evacuation procedures, given that their other location had multiple deaths due to flooding in back-to-back years.Instead of replying they terminated our account without any notification. Only to learn months later District Dogs said it was cancelled because we should have been nicer to them. The lack of customer service is astonishing. If the general manager is any indication, the incompetence inside this organization seems to run right to the very top.

Our dog Gus loves this place! The staff is so nice and welcoming, they always great him by name and are excited to see him. It’s comforting to leave our dog with people who we know also care a lot about him.

This is the second class that I have done with Beatrix at District Dogs Navy Yard. She is a very gifted and knowledgeable trainer. Camille, my pup, and I have learned so much from her. We will go back for more classes and workshops.

I love District Dogs. We mostly go to navy yard location. My very social dog is very happy there. … Daycare seems well - monitored and well run. And the folks there are enthusiastic and loving. the only criticism i have is I wish they would not give dogs Skippy Peanut butter, or other similar brands. its full of sugar and salt. so when i found out they were using snacks like that i stopped having them give her snacks...(seems obvious to me that they should use peanut butter that is just peanuts with no salt.) But I still think it's a very good place. You just have to pay attention, and I do.

This morning, I was shocked and disappointed to learn that my dog and I had been "terminated" as a client of District Dogs. Two months ago, after the tragedy at the NE location, my partner sent an email asking for information on flood evacuation procedures at the Navy Yard location. We never received a response. I take this to mean they do not have a flood evacuation procedure, but feel free to draw your own conclusions...I called this location this morning inquiring as to why our relationship had been terminated. I had a long conversation with the General Manager where I was told our email was "disrespectful" and was lectured on how I "was not the victim here." I have never been treated that way by someone nominally in a customer service field and found it extraordinarily unprofessional. My only guess is that they're facing a number of lawsuits and trying to distance themselves from clients that ask the hard questions.I know we don't have a ton of options in the area, but I highly recommend you place your dog somewhere else, in more professional care.
