This location seemed very empty. It's entrance is easy to walk by without noticing because it's just along the 14th street wall of the Embassy Suites.Some of the shelves were empty, the staff were too busy talking to each other to bother with those of us who came in early in the morning.The people and selections were better at the Logan Circle CVS just a quarter mile down the road.

My mom was on a trip to DC from out of town and had her bag with her insulin stolen. She had her doctor call in a script for her insulin and she also called the pharmacy to let them know that she was looking for her prescription to be called in because her medications were stolen. This all happened around 11:30/noon. By 2pm, she hadn’t heard back from the pharmacy so she called me, her daughter, a pharmacist. I called the pharmacy to get a status update for her and also to make sure they had her insurance information. I was on hold for a while, when a gentleman picked up the phone and told me her prescription would be ready in 15 minutes. I asked for the copay and he told me $100. When I let me mom know the copay, it was more than normal but she said she would have to pay it because she needed her insulin. She calls me back an hour later saying that she got a text from CVS saying that her prescription would be $550. I called the pharmacy back to ask the staff to call her insurance for a lost/stolen medication override - something that I knew could be done for patients because I do it regularly for my patients at my practice. The technician told me that they do not call insurances and it’s the patient’s responsibility. I asked if she would be willing to call the insurance company on the patient’s behalf and she said no. I would bet that 80% of patients, maybe more, have no idea how to get a lost medication override from their insurance company. So there are patients out there who would have been out of luck, just like my mom would have been if her daughter wasn’t a pharmacist. I was able to contact her insurance company, who called the pharmacy for an override for a copay of $35. Why don’t we try assisting our patients who need assistance instead of dismissing them? Do better, CVS.

When I tried to load cash onto my cash app card the cashier specifically told me that their establishment did not load cash onto cash app cards they only load cash onto chime card and when I talked to the people at cash app customer service the representative told me that they do provide that service and that I should have been able to load my card there I was not able to load my cash app card at any 711 I feel that I was being discriminated against by the foreigners that work there they have a malicious animosity towards local black men in this area and they mistreat us at any chance try get

Straight garbage experience. No one was at the counter but the cashier who was resting her head on the counter. I had 4 items and she states "self checkout is open" and my reply is U don't want to use self check out. She proceeds to walk from behind the counter to edcort me to self checkout. Yeah what a great experience.

You see the other reviews about incorrect refill data? Yeah, it's accurate. I now have to go and see my doctor about an important prescription bc the CVS here said I had three refills left but refused to fill it. The prescription does NOT appear expired nor did I receive ANY information saying it was expired until I called about an unrelated request. Do NOT use this pharmacy

My twin boys received their covid vaccine here today. The pharmacist was so polite and did his best to administer it in a gentle way. He had a good attitude even though he was the only one working the pharmacy.

Today was the first and hopefully the last time in this pharmacy. One of the staff, supposedly the doctor, was trying to be helpful in describing different potential scenarios that had affected my very high copay. However, the cashier could not be more aggressive! I had a feeling that she had absolutely no idea about how to smile and talk to customers. I believe she really needs to be trained again (if she has not been) on how to deal with customers and be communicative.

Went here to get my kids vaccinated. One of my children is extremely afraid of shots. Sabrina, the woman administering shots, was extremely patient, got my 5 year old child to hug her, and made my child comfortable enough that they didn't notice when the shot went in. She was amazing and I couldn't believe how much time Sabrina spent trying to get my child to stop crying. I was not expecting such kindness and care. Thank you, Sabrina!

Pharmacy held my prescription until it expired without notifying me. They gave incorrect information on the refill date and I had to go back to my doctor to get a refill because of their incompetence. The pharmacy on 14th st. is a lot more reliable than this one.

I went to this CVS at Thomas Circle this afternoon and it was appalling. It was very crowded, lines were going out the door and there were only two attendants at the registers for the entire store. I think there need to be a change in management as this is happening more often. I’m a long time customer of this particular store because I own a business close by and I’ve never seen such chaos as I’ve been seeing lately. Please clean house or I will take my business elsewhere. You are not the only CVS in the area. If I could have given you a zero star I would. Thank you.

Absolutely fabulous service given to me by the lovely Tracy. I was trying to print some pictures and the paper ran out. Even though the Specialist on photos was out for the day, she tirelessly helped me and not only did she singlehandedly figure out how to fix the printer, she stayed with me and made sure my pictures got printed.In my life, I've never experienced such lovely customer service. She was an absolute joy, and so pleasant throughout the entire experience.So thank you Tracy for your wonderful service. You made my day a little better. :)

Called in prescriptions for a patient at 11:15 am. Left the message on the doctor voicemail. Patient showed up at 12:58 to pickup prescriptions. Patient was told prescriptions were not called in. I informed patient that indeed they had been called in. It was left on the doctor voicemail. Patient was told that the pharmacist is the only one that check the voicemail and that he/she would not be checking it for a while. If the voicemail is not going to be check every hour it should be stated on the recording. That way doctors will know to ask for the pharmacist and not leave on the voicemail.

Literally the worst. The pharmacist is really nice and does a good job but the whole shop is grossly understaffed, all the support staff are incredibly rude and half the time they only give me half the prescriptions that are ready and waiting for me. I just spent 30mins on hold to try and get a prescription transferred to another pharmacy and nobody ever picked up so my doctor had to rescind the script and resend it. Avoid this pharmacy, it's the worst.

This rating isn't lower purely because of the stores convenience. Now being watched while in the store is getting EXTREMELY old. I work across the street, have for going on a year and I've never stolen in my life. I've seen the people who steal be chased out of the store, the only similarity is the color of our skin.I never leave the store without paying, my receipts are digital also out of convenience. I'd go to the in person register but employees tend to be flocked together there which makes for uncomfortable maneuvering, as such I use the self check out.The first time is understandable even the second from a societal standpoint but this has become a hindrance. Once the Wawa opens across the way I'll happily shop there, or at ANY other CVS because DC has an abundance.

I have now been receiving automated and non automated messages regarding another customer's pharmacy prescriptions for a while and tried to call the pharmacy to let them know and see what I could do to change it. The lady I spoke with on the phone said that since it was the night shift she couldn't help me and I was sol. I decided to call the main number on the CVS website and took care of the matter within minutes. Why she couldn't help me with this information or take my information for the shift that was capable of helping me I won't understand.

This CVS is the only CVS I've ever been in that - literally - smelled like raw sewage. I can't say why it smelled the way it did - but it was *very* off putting when going there primarily to get a few snacks. Additionally, the staff there watch you like hawks. If you have a theft problem- use the cameras. Don't make every patron feel like they're a criminal in a fish bowl. If you're in a pinch and need something - fine... but I certainly wouldn't seek this location out.

I have lived in dc 30 years. This CVS has seriously declined and I struggle to know why. It's no longer open 24/7 yet checkouts are continually broken and the store just looks dirty inside. I avoid this location as much as possible and usually walk up to the P street location.

Very misleading CVS. There’s a huge sign that says “OPEN 24 hours” outside the building, but that does not include the pharmacy. When I arrived (around 5pm) to pick up a prescription, the pharmacy lead, technician or whoever the heck he is (Peter) was extremely smug/rude..almost to the point where it seemed like he got a kick out of telling me that the pharmacy was closed. When I said “please, but sir” he raised his voice and said “I SAID WE’RE CLOSED” until finally directing me to a CVS pharmacy location that was still open. Very smug, and poor customer service on his end. And false advertisement!!

Although generally responsive and professional, today's visit proved that some pharmacists there have no sense of accountability. I refilled two prescriptions at the behest of a CVS-initiated phone call reminding me of two refills. When I arrived to pick them up, there was only one med eligible for refill. After I explained that the pharmacy had informed me that I need two refills, the pharmacist 'on duty' responded that she wasn't 'on duty' yesterday and was therefore, apparently, not responsible or in any way interested in a conversation and process initiated by one of her colleagues, a process which cost me 15 minutes of phone time yesterday, and unnecessary hassle at the pharmacy this evening. When I reminded her that it was actually a colleague of hers who called me, and that she should therefore be aware of the lack of organization in her pharmacy, she stated that in the future when responding to phone calls initiated by the pharmacy that it would be incumbent on me, the customer, to make sure that I spoke to a pharmacist rather than any other employee. Apparently the customer at this pharmacy is responsible for assuring that the pharmacy staff provide correct info to the customer. Like I said, this was unprofessional, and demonstrates a lack of accountability and lack of interest in providing quality customer service. #professionalfail, #CVSPharmacistShouldWork@DMV

This "24 Hour" CVS location in a prominent neighborhood in downtown DC, closes the pharmacy in the early evening each day. They don't publicize that and It is VERY INCONVENIENT and dangerous for customers who have prescriptions that treat chronic illness and need their medications. I would NOT recommend getting your prescription filled at this location. It is a very poorly managed store.

I use the pharmacy at this CVS frequently as it's very close to my office. Their pharmacy group is top notch with great service, quick turn around time and just overall, they do a great job!
