Good store. Clean, plenty of stock. Self check out is very easy. Automatic doors at the entrance doesn't open all the way so be careful.

If you have a scheduled prescription, don't expect them to actually use that information in advance. I had a prescription where I was out of medication and scheduled for refill today and need to be on. I received a message at 3:55 pm that they were out of stock and had to order it. I called (after holding) and asked if they can do a partial refill and they can't and said I had to call other pharmacies. I asked if they can please look up if other CVS's have this in stock, and was put on hold and had to re-explain the entire issue to someone and finally got some CVS locations out of them. Luckily, the first CVS pharmacy i called in Tenleytown actually picked up, pulled over the prescription, and refilled it immediately. On my way home, I stopped by this CVS to ask how this happened, and the pharmacist was completely unapologetic and says they just pull down the list for the day and do not looked at scheduled prescriptions in advance. She kept emphasizing how many prescriptions they fill and clearly did not care one bit that they screwed me over with such a poor process.

Overall, I had awful experiences in their pharmacy. When they are out of supply for a prescribed medication, they'd send me to other location, where I'd find out that they are out of supplies too. When I ask the staff to transfer my prescription so that I could receive the medication at other location, they would tell me that they will do it and then I would realize they actually hadn't when I get to that other location. Not only are they very unhelpful and ineffective, they are also unwilling to help. I am astonished by their blatant lack of respect for my time and medical needs.

Sloppy, Inadequate, and Sub-Par.It’s truly a sad testament when the nicest associate was the Self-Checkout Machine. If you’re going to treat travelers as if they’re social pariahs, then at least have developed loss prevention who know what isle the products are in AND associates who don’t wave you off- especially after you inform them that you’re seeing is impaired due to breaking your glasses.A FEW of the Opportunities missed:- The chance to offer exceptional customer service by offering me a basket or offering to place my items at the register through a closed ended question.- The chance to upsell me by showing me where the reading glasses are AND/OR offering to personally assist me the duration of my visit.And just to be slightly petty, this location doesn’t have ANY Product in stock so I don’t know what they think anyones going to steal! I’m sorry but I don’t need to steal your 12 boxes of Trojan Magnum Condoms… Do better by being better.

Pharmacy: everyone including the pharmacist seems miserable, resulting in all customer interactions being miserable. If you have any issue there is no help on their end to get it fixed. They just tell you they can’t help you. They also told me something wasn’t covered by insurance and had to pay out of pocket. I asked them to check again, they pushed back saying it’s not but I insisted, had to wait while they took their time and lo and behold it was $45 cheaper. All the while with a terrible attitude. Retail sucks, I get it, but the reality is you reap what you sow, try to provide some customer service. Prescriptions NEVER READY.

Honestly a mess! Boxes all over the store at prime time day for buying on Sat! I asked for help to look for eye solution, the lady was having a conversation and couldn’t be bothered. The store was a mess! Unruly and chaotic. Recommend upper regional managers check on this location. Not worth going if the whole store has things on the floor.

Honestly, this is one of the worst pharmacies I have ever seen I was try to make for money order I asked them guys did you makes money order than they say yes go that ETM and bring cash I say ok once The ETM charged me 3$ I back to her than she asked to me do you have ID I say yes I showed my ID which is class A. no restriction any state. she told me you must bring federal ID 😂 I say this is my ID hell than she refused to me to make the money order I backed the store I never back thier in my life !!!!!

there’s newer staff which i’m happy about but they all have the same habits: they watch you like a hound. it’s saddening because the newer staff are friendly (except the women, who only greet people they think won’t steal) but they all seem to focus on the fact that people steal which, no one can control and they don’t have consistent security which CVS can afford. it’s not their job to hound people they literally do it willingly but it just becomes harassment because what are you going to do? CVS has so much money and insurance on top of that and to that fact, maybe i should just steal if you treat me as such. this is my neighborhood store but i’ve been taking my extended walk to up to Target for my hair products

If I could give the people back in the pharmacy a negative 1,00000000 I would. They were so hateful to me and just rude!!! The lady up in the front of the pharmacy was awesome she was very polite and had manners. I was in there this morning 8/7/23 at 9:15 am. So please check your staff that was working an address their behavior!

Google, website, and the sign on the door all say the store closes at 11pm. So when I tried to enter at 10:28pm on 10/10/2022 to buy diapers for my son - I could not do so. The staff were all inside sitting and chatting on the counter. When I finally got someone to come to the door, he shrugged his shoulders and told me to “ask them”. So the young lady who locked the door behind him had the wonderful answer of “they didn’t change the sign yet”.Who is supposed to change the sign? The manager? Corporate? Or is the staff just closing up early to get home faster? I get it, I do. I’ve worked retail before. I’ve worked at a business that closed late before. I really do understand. But this is DC. This is a CVS that is part of a community of apartment buildings with families surrounding it. We rely on them. We spend our hard earned money here. It would have taken me less than 5 minutes to get my son’s diapers and check out. So very very disappointed.

If you have the ability to go to any other pharmacy, I urge you to choose that pharmacy over this one. Two different prescriptions of mine (necessary daily prescriptions) were withheld by this pharmacy on multiple occasions. I suffered the impact of not having these medications and the pharmacist offered no solutions or sympathies. It’s been a horrible experience, a demeaning experience, and one that has left my health in a worse position than before. Despite authorization from my doctor and my insurance provider, this CVS unilaterally decided they would not give me my medicine.Do not use this pharmacy. They treat customers horribly and put them in dangerous positions by withholding necessary medication.

Hard to find anything to buy at this store-the shelves are so empty, it’s hard to tell if they were just robbed blind, or just really bad at keeping decent inventory. Prices are super high, best to skip it and have WM deliver.

The Ladies Who Worked at the Pharmacy on 4-21-23 are the rudest workers I’ve ever encountered, I got there at 1:10 and had to wait while there was a couple of people ahead of me , so while talking to one of the ladies another customer comes up and the lady in the white jacket just closes the gate at 1:25 because they were going on lunch at 1:30 like literally closed the gate in our face as the other lady still had my insurance card so I’m literally talking to the lady behind the gate ! It was rude and very unprofessional.

This pharmacy is terrible. The pharmacists cannot be reached by phone ever. Refills are hit and miss. Sometimes my filled meds have gone missing?? Do not in any way expect speed, reliability or friendliness. The employees do not care and cvs doesn’t care about its employees.

This is one of the best CVS I have visited. Getting prescriptions refilled at CVS can be challenging. You have to know how to navigate using the mobile app AND call the pharmacy. I was glad that everything I wanted to accomplish was able to. Lots of patience is needed.

Jada at the front checkout area is great. I accidentally left my card in the machine after paying and she made sure I didn't leave the store without getting it back. Her mom is super nice too

I would give it zero stars if I could. The employee with a big pin on his chest saying “ask me for help” was not able to direct me to the appropriate aisle and I asked for joint braces and bandages, a common product in a pharmacy. And furthermore, he had his mask under his chin as he strolled the front of the store as we are in the height of the covid omicron pandemic and there are multiple signs at the doors requiring customers to wear masks properly. For a pharmacy, this is just plain unacceptable!

Don’t bother trying to call the pharmacy—after 30 minutes they’re likely to disconnect.The WORST for me is that I have severe arthritis & I require opiate meds. CVS does NOT stock enough of these meds at times, & CVS, NOT Gov’t regulations is that if you take what they have on hand, they will NOT complete your order without a new prescription. I finally changed to Foer’s pharmacy, which ALWAYS has a complete stock, & calls me after only a 1 hour wait time.There is NO EXCUSE for a huge pharmacy chain to treat people this way!!

Honestly, this is one of the worst pharmacies I have ever had to deal with. They are extremely rude and one time the pharmacist even hung up on me when I was trying to explain the issue I was having with my prescription. Don't waste your time or money dealing with this pharmacy its better to just go down a couple blocks. I called the pharmacy at exactly 9 AM, when they open, and was left on hold for 25 minutes. I am switching pharmacies after having to deal with them for so long.

This is the worst CVS! Yesterday 9/29/2021 I was trying to purchase a bag of Tide Pods. Not only did I have to wait 10minutes for assistance, but the manager on duty was very rude, and unprofessional. He took the Tide Pods to the front, and began to ring it up, as if I was going to steal it. Once I told him that I could handle it myself, he stood there watching me to see if I was paying for it. I was truly disturb, and I said something to him about it. After I payed for my merchandise, he began to walk away. He was. an Asian guy....

My main gripe about this CVS is the pharmacy and it's lack of any sort of professionalism. But as you make your way to the back where the pharmacy is, you'll often find trash and items on the floor. When you finally make it to the pharmacy, the odds are very high that no one will say hello to you. Your Rx will probably be late or not ready yet despite their system bombarding your phone with calls. If you try and call ahead to confirm if your Rx is ready you'll probably need to block of 15-20 min on your schedule for the hold and then once they answer you can expert curt, short answers as if your call is just a nuisance to them.I don't think anyone expects a hug and a high five from their local CVS staff but there is much room for improvement in terms of customer service from this pharmacy.

This pharmacy filled my Rx incorrectly, and the pharm tech was very rude to me when I had to return the next day to inform them that my pill count was incorrect by five pills. Although this mistake by the pharmacy was concerning (counting pills and dispensing medication correctly is kind of an important part of their job!), I wasn’t upset until I experienced how the pharm tech treated me. The pharm tech the day prior had been delightful. But this one’s response to my calm statement that the pill count was incorrect was literally “says who?” ...and we aren’t talking about a controlled or expensive substance, just generic thyroid meds—so no need for suspicion, let alone the lack of professionalism. I told her I’d counted them, and she snatched the pill bottle away from me so aggressively she lost control of it and it smacked her in the chest. I’d gone into the store in a good mood, just wanting to get the issue sorted out without worrying about making a complaint or report to anyone about the mistake. But she had a nasty attitude the whole time, from approaching me at the counter with no greeting or smile, just an unfriendly “last name?”, to shoving the pill bottle back at me at the end with the correct number added. No apology or hint of apologetic attitude at any time for the pill count error or the inconvenience of having to return to the store to simply get the medication my doctor prescribed. The pharmacist was present and heard the whole thing, no other customers around, and didn’t take a moment to apologize for the error or for the pharm tech’s behavior. Obviously errors in filling Rxs and terrible customer service are the standard at this CVS.

I wish I've bothered looking at reviews.I had an appointment today for a flu shot. I received a reminder SMS about the appointment. I showed up planning to get my flu shot and I was told that they don't have flu shots today.Are you kidding me?Total lack of respect for my time. A Sunday wasted!

I can't speak to other people's experiences but I have found the pharmacy staff here to be quite friendly and helpful, although occasionally understaffed. The store as a whole is a bit on the shabby side. For example, one of the self serve checkouts has been malfunctioning for months (freezes up permanently if you swipe a card that has a chip) and nobody has bothered to fix it.

Without fail, every time I call the pharmacy I am on hold for a minimum of 10 minutes before anyone picks up. I’ve walked to the pharmacy while on hold in the past and arrived to a near-empty store. Convinced they just don’t answer the phone. The CVS in Tenleytown is a further walk for me but by transferring my prescriptions there I’ll more than make up for time lost being held on hold with no one answering at Van Ness.

In person they are adequate at best but they NEVER ANSWER THE PHONE. I waited in hold for over 45 minutes once and am currently waiting for over 10 minutes. Once I waited so long I walked to the store and no one was doing anything- they were standing around chatting and not working while the phone was on hold. This is miserable and infuriating. CVS needs to do something.
