I just moved into the Petworth area and need to mount two TV's to the wall. This was my first experience and Eric was a great resource and very self assuring to me. Over the past week, I have had several other little projects where Eric has been innovative in his solutions for me. Annie's is a great hardware store with a great selection of items.

Extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. We’ll stocked with everything you could need from a hardware store. Have gotten house keys made here, car key remote batteries replaced, exact right screws, house paints, gardening, grilling, plants and more. Come here all the time and the pricing is as good or better than Home Depot!

Well stocked.Would recommend moving the chainsaw files and chainsaw chains next to the chainsaws. They're currently next to the bbq/kitchen stuff. Hope this gets chained soon.

Nice selection of products, clean helpful shopping environment. However, they do not respect the Brookland neighborhood and place signs illegally on street lights and blocking sidewalks. Can not recommend supporting a business that does not respect the neighborhood within which it operates.

I needed an adapter to hook up a portable washing machine to my bathroom faucet. I went to two big box stores thinking they would have a wider selection of adapters for my needs. At both stores, it was nearly impossible to find someone to give me a hand, and then when I did find someone, they handed me the same adapter I showed them didn't fit. I decided to stop by Annie's Ace Hardware, and not only was I greeted upon entering the store, the person who greeted me alerted the folks in the back of my needs. I walked back and was given immediate assistance. The two individuals helping me were able to think outside the box to find a set of adapters that would work with the faucet I have. I got home, installed the adapters and it worked like a charm. This is the hardware store that I will go to first from now on. Thank you to the employees for great customer service and for taking the time to find something that would work for my set up. I highly recommend Annie's Ace Hardware.

I have always preferred shopping at Annie's over shopping at big box hardware stores. The difference is the staff at Annie's. When I came in recently, Maria greeted me when I walked in, asked if I needed help finding anything, and walked with me to each of the three items I was shopping for. At checkout, Maria asked if there was anything else I needed, and when I mentioned needing a new car key and remote, but not really having time to get one, Maria suggested a few days and times when the store might be less busy, and encouraged me to call ahead. I'll be doing that soon! Thanks, Maria!

I loved my visit to Annie's Ace Hardware. The things were nice, tidy and easy to find. The workers were all pretty helpful and offered help. I bought two things here and I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. I would've rated it 4.5 stars because although the store is great in my opinion, being in the streets of busy Washington D.C. parking was a little trouble. Thankfully I was able to park without trouble, the store still could use more parking spaces. This store sells stihl which is a really good brand in my opinion and has other equipment for any household. To recap I will definitely be coming back again to this location but would love to see more parking spaces.

This place is a godsend to any new homeowner. No question is to shameful to ask. Staff are patient, kind, and helpful even when you struggle to articulate exactly what it is you're trying to accomplish. They talked us down from buying an expensive power tool that was probably going to result in harm to ourselves or the house and have repeatedly helped us to think through creative approaches to projects that result from owning a home built in 1939. They've got a great inventory, reasonable prices, free parking, and our business for as long as we live in this area!

The quality of service is a throwback at this Ace Hardware - all of the people that work there are incredibly friendly and super helpful. Not to mention they know their products. And if they don't have a particular item in stock they are quick to offer to order it and everything comes in incredibly fast - like within 2-3 days. Their prices are also reasonable - even though there's a Lowe's that's the same distance away from me as Annie's I prefer this store for almost every purchase (the only exception being flowers - they just don't have the space for a huge garden center). They also offer small machine repairs which is great when I need to get my lawnmower tuned up or have the spark plug replaced on my weed eater. Overall I would hands down recommend this hardware shop over any other place.

Wonderful experience at this Annie's. Needed some screws and the person working in that aisle really helped me a lot. He took the time to listen and find just what I needed, and I solved my furniture problem when I got home! Another reason why I love this hardware store--amazing customer service. Today they accepted the return of a product I purchased there more than one month ago, without the receipt. Turns out if you use your Ace Rewards # on purchases they have a record of it. On multiple occasions I have turned to them after a frustrating experience at Lowe's or HD and received personalized service from one of their many knowledgeable staff to find what I needed or to get helpful suggestions or directions on how to get something done, ie paint my kitchen cabinets. Can't recommend these folks highly enough.

This is my go to place for any household thing I need. It always has everything and is always stocked. But what makes me give this place five stars is the customer service. Everyone, and I mean everyone, is extremely nice, helpful and neighborly. I love going in with my dogs and saying hello. It brightens up my day to go in there and THAT'S a rare thing these days.

Assistant manager Castro let my 3 year old sit in his lap and mix paints. He showed him how the machine works and let him push the buttons. At the end my son said he loved him. Ace really is the place with the helpful hardware folks.

This place is a fantastic neighborhood hardware store. It is much larger than it appears from the road and is stacked to the roof. They have huge range of stuff and services I have had a screen dooor fixed, picked up pet supplies, replaced obscure types of light bulbs, got toys, plus all the standard hardware, screws, paint, etc. Sometimes you have to hunt for staff because they are off helping someone, but they are a very nice bunch.

I was riding my bike home from work in NE one day and suddenly my back tire shifted flush with my frame making it impossible to ride. I was still 3.5 miles from home. Also I’m new to DC so my knowledge of where things are isn’t the best yet. This was the only place walkable to attempt to figure out what was happening. Not only did someone greet me right away, but they asked me to bring my bike in and to the back so someone could check it out. Markus took one look at it, told me to flip it upside down and then fixed my tire. I’m just so grateful for these guys taking a second to not dismiss me and say I needed to go to a bike shop or say they couldn’t help. I can only imagine how great the service is if I came here looking for something specific.

Never been a fan of overpriced hardware stores like Ace but Annie's has been better than most for service, that is until today. Stood outside with 30 people for about 45 mi ites just to get into the store because they only had one cashier. Wouldn't really care that much except no one from the store would let us know why we were waiting so long..

Really super friendly and helpful staff! They always seem to have everything and anything you need. If you want lumber for building a deck, or a new bathroom, go to Home Depot or Lowes. For your everyday needs, save yourself time and a huge headache and come to Annie's Ace!

I always try to do my hardware shopping in this location. Employees are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Store is always well cleaned and well stocked. Perfect location to drop off UPS packages as well!

Very helpful staff. In addition to the usual hardware store items, this is a good place to get hand sanitizer or a small toy for the kids. Periodically, they will have CSA selling produce in the parking lot.

In both Covid and non-Covid times, this is my favorite hardware store in the city! The staff is always super helpful, and will even take the time to explain different tools, parts, or processes to you if you have questions! They have everything from paint to gardening supplies to key services to hardware to pest control to household supplies, so I know I can rely on them for anything I need. During Covid they are letting 5 customers in the store at a time, which makes for a safe and expedient shopping visit.
