Our existing hvac system was almost 20 years old and needed to be replaced. Got quotes from 8 different hvac companies and not only was Red Dog one of the most knowledgeable, they also had the best price for a top of the line American Standard variable speed system. BTW, I have 2 engineering degrees and run my own handyman and home remodeling companies so while not an hvac expert, I am more knowledgeable about hvac than the average person. I have used Red Dog for many years at 2 of my homes in Delaware. Since F H Furr took over, things have gone down hill. Appointments get canceled day of or technicians don't show up in designated window time frame, if at all. I have an HVAC Preferred plan and it took 4 months for them to finally make the appointment that had been rescheduled multiple times for the inspection. Then I had a plumbing appointment and the guy never showed for the 8 a.m.-12 p.m. window. I called at noon, was told he was still coming but was held up. No call all day, finally showed up at 6:39 p.m. without a call ahead of time (got text at 6:38). Then overcharged me. I'm canceling my contract and finding someone else for my 2 homes.

I used Red Dog for 10 years. I will not be using FH Furr. I set up an annual service inspection 3 months in advance (earliest date I could get). I called to confirm the day before. They missed the appointment window. When I called to check was told they were late, but would be there soon. Over an hour later they called to say they weren’t going to be there after all. As I tried to explain my frustration with the lack of timely communication I was interrupted repeatedly. That’s no way to deal with a customer. I understand emergency service comes first. Just don’t treat other customers like they don’t matter.

I scheduled a flush of my tankless water heater. It should have been a red flag that they wouldn’t give me a quote when I scheduled. The plumber was scheduled to arrive at 8:30am and arrived at 2pm. He then quoted me $580 to flush the tank. I was shocked and declined the service after waiting all day for him. The plumber asked me to please tell corporate about this as he agreed that the price was outrageous. At least the plumber was honest even if the company is a scammer.

Highly recommend! I called at 9:30 on a Wednesday morning about my ac system. Our Tech, Tom, was here at 11:30 the same morning. He even arrived earlier than our assigned time frame. He checked everything over and quickly figured out the issue and replaced it. The pricing was super reasonable! The hype is real – Red Dog is an outstanding company/team!! Today it POURED most of the day with nasty wind guts every few seconds, and these guys showed up ready to tackle an entire HVAC replacement including smart thermostats in both zones. These guys had to install a new furnace in an absolutely ridiculous; hard to access, location and they did it with ease like experts! Not only did they have to get one of the furnaces up in that ridiculous location, but they also had to take out the old furnace from that location. They replaced the AC units all while the monsoon carried on. Totally amazed with the amount of work they accomplished, in the worst weather – all with the utmost professionalism. We have used them on multiple occasions. Matter of fact they came to my rental and did not have equipment to fix it, so they never charged me.I had them put in my new tankless water heater and their service person was awesome helpful and informative. They did all the paperwork for De energy rebate.They also rep,aced my HVAC and again they did a great job and I love the unit. Also at a fair price.Turned out the unit did not qualify for rebate and they never asked for more money.p,this is integrity .Many of my friends and neighbors use them with same experience.Get prices but use the best.

We apparently have a combined boiler and tankless water heater that few people work on even the company that bought out the initial installer. It is only two years old. Red Dog HVAC came through. The call taker was very pleasant and helpful. The tech, Mike E. was extremely thorough. We eventually needed a censor but do have heat. The censor won’t be in till hopefully mid next week. No hot water! They were very apologetic and will be out as soon as it comes in. Mike even called the company in Canada when he had a problem. They have gone out of their way to help and will be our HVAC company from now on. By the way don’t get a NTI boiler!Service: Heating system repair

My furnace pressure switch began failing on 12/22, failed again on 12/24 and finally permanently failed on 12/26. Even though they were crazy busy on Christmas Eve, they got my furnace up and running so that my family could have a warm and comfortable Christmas. They replaced the failed part yesterday when the supply house was back open. Contacted Red Dog because a neighborhood post asking for a recommendation listed them as the best. We were looking to replace our water heater with a tank-less electric one. They were prompt, courteous , and professional. All the work was professional. There was one little oddity following the installation which they promptly returned and diagnosed and corrected. The crew arrived on time and worked diligently all day to install a complete HVAC system. They ran into one problem with the old system and a mis-wired damper. They traced the problem made the repair and completed the installation. We were not charged for the extra work and advised their work is to make our system work perfectly, regardless of who made the problem. Salesman and owner Ken came right away I did not have to wait that in itself is excellent customer service for.me.and explained different options. And.within two days wow my oil.burner was installed early in one day by Ken's crew Terrance head of installation and his partner Ross. They worked all day diligently, and they were outstanding again I am amazed wow this is a company you can definitely depend on service outstanding they aim to please a customer and want to really help you!!! Terrance and Ross outstanding work and thank you I never came across a plumbing and heating and all other things they do other. Oh Terrance and and Ken even my dog was very happy and now nice and warm. Oh I forgot.to mention when Terrance first arrived this morning he introduced himself and Ross as well you don't get that much these days and I had to go do some errands and they were so dependable I am just amazed about the Crew Terrance and Ross and owner Ken everyone should take lessons from them about how to treat Customers!!!! Ken and his Red Dog team are amazing. He’s super prompt, always gets back to you quickly and offer exceptional service at a decent price. We used them for a whole HVAC install and since it’s vacation home, whenever I find something odd or not working properly, they always come by quickly to have it resolved!! Super amazing service, have also used them to do a re-plumb and their plumber - Bryon really does great work and always answers any questions! When finding quality contractors is tough in the area, these guys are top notch!

Red Dog Associates replaced a 9 year old - still under warranty - defective Trane HVAC condenser unit with a comparable new American Standard condenser unit (same company - different brand). We had had lingering problems with the Trane unit leaking Freon -- which was finally traced to a factory defective weld on the inside of the unit which was virtually impossible to properly repair. We also had some issues making a warranty claim... Red Dog recently bought out Associates Contracting in Dover and when I informed Ken Wood, the new owner, of this on going issue -- he IMMEDIATELY took charge and scheduled to have the defective unit replaced - under warranty. He responded to all emails and calls immediately -- and provided exceptional customer service. The unit was professionally installed -- the labor cost was highly reasonable -- and our problem was solved. I have been with Associates for over 23 years for HVAC and Plumbing since building our house. This kind of quick response -- super service -- and solving our lingering problem will certainly justify my staying with the new Red Dog Associates for another 23 + years.
