I would give zero star If I could! Arrived late approx. 7-8 mins within their grace period. Had to wait in line to check in. At the time of checking in, it’s already 13 mins late, and they told me to reschedule. I explained, but they insisted to reschedule. We were only here because we still have the OWP plan. I have already cancel the appointment and the plan, will never come back again .

Like so many other posts on here the only thing I can advise is Banfield has gone downhill and only cares about money. Ive been bringing my cats for years, didnt have any issues, until Friday. Drop off appointment, assured they would be kept in a kennel not their carriers. I asked point blank for convenia as these 2 are hard to administor meds. Picked up my babies $475 later my 20 year old long hair smelled like poo on the drive home. Get home and hes covered, the blanket has poo thats starting to dry. He was left in the carrier like that for who knows how long. When called after she said they never stay in the carriers, its against policy, yet today the girl said they will wait in their carriers for the vet to arrive, yea, arrived at 8am which is what I was old to do, vet didnt arrive til 20 after. They gave oral antibiotics friday, which was pointless as the meds do not make it into their mouths, mostly on the floor, hence why i asked for convenia. So brought them back sunday to get the convenia shots, and was not reimbursed for the meds I couldnt use, just charged another $175.Just be careful, the response they will post to this weill ask to email them, its automated and no one there really cares.

We are truck drivers and our dog Roadie needed his booster shots while we were on the road and we were able to get an appointment for him. The staff was amazing and even clipped his nails and our other dog Tank's nails as well. Tank is a rambunctious Staffordshire Terrier and they were able to calm him down enough to get his nails clipped. He got excited and ended going wee-wee on one of the vets pants and she was so understanding about it and told us not to worry about it. Professionalism at its best at this location. Thanks for taking care of our puppers.

The Banfield in Christiana De is excellent and always has my bordercollie's medicine available as soon as I order ahead and get there. They are great! Banfield in Branywine De is excellent also in providing the medical vet care for Brody!

On Sunday, November 25 I walked in and went to the front counter where I was greeted by a gal with longer dark brown hair and a bull ring nose ring. I told her I wanted to schedule an IN ROOM appointment that we are from the Orlando area and I’m here working but have been receiving notifications that my dachshund Bailey needed some things done from her plan. I again said room appointment and explained I hadn’t met the Dr’s there before and that Bailey has some extra medical challenges that I would also like to show and discuss. AGAIN explaining why I wanted a room appointment and that room appointment only. She assured me no problem that next Saturday, December 2nd had several open room appointments. I responded “really on a Saturday? “. She said yes that weekends are typically more open than week days. She offered SEVERAL different times on Saturday AGAIN I confirmed room with a dr appointment only NOT a drop off. I agreed to the 10:15 and Baileys appointment was booked. Saturday, December 2nd comes around and unfortunately my other dachshund had started vomiting due to ingesting some bed stuffing earlier in the morning. At 8am when they opened I called and spoke to someone and I shared that I already had a 10:15 room appointment and asked if Reese could possibly be seen as well. I was told that I did not have a room appointment!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?!? She said the appointment had been scheduled as a drop off. I explained the entire experience from Sunday and why I booked a room. She said it was only drop off and that I could drop Reese off too but that the Dr had surgery and it would be later in the day until they were seen. NOT ACCEPTABLE at ALL!!!!! I rescheduled Bailey for another room appointment not drop off for 12/16 at 3:00. I ended up taking Reese to a private Dr. practice for care. I was concerned with leaving Reese for care because if they couldn’t schedule appointments correctly would they treat and see my sick dog this way as well?!?!?!? This location has SERIOUS issues with staffing. 2 years ago when I was up here working I also had appointment challenges. For 3 days I tried calling to schedule appointments again for services that I PAY FOR IN A PLAN but no one would answer a phone call. I ended up driving up to this location and when I pulled up several techs were smoking outside and yes they were Banfield techs not grooming techs from the salon. I get they are entitled and should take breaks. But when you can’t answer phones maybe you shouldn’t be taking breaks!!! I shouldn’t have to call for 3 days with no luck and have to drive up there for an appointment. When I finally saw them go in from their smoke break I attempted to schedule appointments and was told that they don’t answer the phones much and to just leave a message. I had already left several messages that weren’t responded to. The Lakeland location that we use in Florida is absolutely amazing and I have a wonderful friendship with the Dr there too. This location is the worst!!!! Why have plans if you all can’t do appointments???? I’m paying double as I’m paying for plans and paying to be seen at private practices. To top this off on December 3rd I got a “Banfield missed appointment” text!! I didn’t miss it!!! YOU at Banfield screwed it up and I rescheduled on December 2nd!!!!!

We got our first puppy CeCe and enrolled in Optimum Wellness Program with Banfield. I am very pleased to say team at Banfield Christiana is extraordinary and they take excellent care of CeCe. Dr. Chris,Dr. Katherine,Nurses, front desk and technicians are excellent, very caring, knowledgeable and ready to answer any question. Staff is easily reachable by phone and i am glad to be part of Banfield. Further, it's very easy to schedule appoints of your choice and everything is online as well. Thanks Banfield!

Banfield hospital was not good. I kept up with his appointments. My dog before he died had diabetes but it was never diagnosed by Banfield and they had to have known. The diabetes was with him for a while!!!

The treat my dog well, but be prepared to be inconvenienced on arrival. There is never anyone on the front desk or to answer the phone. They won’t take your animal if you arrive even 5 minutes late, but when you arrive early or on time be expected to wait 10-20 minutes just to check in on top of the wait for the doctor. What a joke

We have been using Banfield for two years now. We have a wellness plan for our pup Cooper. The plan is amazing and totally worth utilizing. Cooper went through a major illness a year and a half ago. Banfield got him in right away and did what they could, unfortunately he had to be admitted to VSCD. The girls at Banfield got all our records in ASAP and the vet spoke to the emergency vet at VSCD. He had a tummy bug last week and they took a great care of them. Most of the vets are pretty good. Even though we moved to Smyrna we will continue to come to Banfield Newark!

Horrible cancellation experience. Had a family member who's name was on the account that tried to cancel a yearly service payment. The representative forced him to grab me (person who opened the account originally) to verify the cancelation. Why? All the current paperwork show my relatives name NOT MINE. Rep told my relative that couldn’t be bothered to wait 2 minutes for me to get on the phone, she wanted to hang up on us! When I got on the phone I immediately told her to cancel everything. SHE THEN PROCEEDED TO OFFER US LOWER TIER SERVICES AND PAYMENT OPTIONS, I HAD TO TELL HER THREE TIMES TO CANCEL EVERYTHING. This clinic knows how to treat out beloved pets, but are horrible when it comes to serving the customer!

I made an appointment online they called me and said that there is a problem with the online system and change my appointment for 4:30, when I got here. At 4:30 they said the appointment was at 4:15 and I have to reschedule. I drove 3 hours back and from home for nothing.

This location is all about money, less about pet care or customer service. My dog requires daily anxiety medication, which he has been on. I requested a refill for an additional medication he takes regularly and they REFUSE to fill it without seeing him. He had 2 comprehensive exams within ONE week of each other, and less than a month had passed since then when I first made my request. Instead of agreeing to a phone conversation, they insist I have to go in for him to be seen again. Nothing will have changed. His comprehensive exams came back clean. He does not do well with me in the exam room and I now have a baby to bring along. During Covid phone calls were a thing. So it is possible. They just now choose to refuse them.On another, recent occasion, they refused to see him when I had an urgency, sent us to emergency care, which was not needed. Refused his Medical Groom during his previous comprehensive exam (which was the main reason for the visit) without a valid reason, other than saying he needs to be sedated, which is not true. He has had several medical grooms successfully without sedation. Causing me to have to rebook him!!We have been clients here for a few years now. I will not use them with any future pets. The front desk staff is wonderful, but the vets leave a lot to be desired.

While they were able to give me an appointment when I asked if they could give me assistance getting my cat into their office because I'm walking with a cast they told me that was not possible. It was disappointing that they could not accommodate the small thing to allow me to get my cat seen. This suggestion was to put the cat in a cart but they did not understand getting my cat into the car was difficult because I'm on crutches let alone carrying him into the store.

I always trust Banfield and have gone to them to care for my cats, which I have two, whenever I have moved from one place to another. But this one in particular irked me a certain way due to one vet, who is a she, that suggested I put down one of my cats because she has FIV. No vet has ever told me so. I've always been told that I should keep her indoors and safe from outside contact. Show her love and care. Doing so can make her happy and trusting which in turn can increase her lifespan in respect to her condition. But no, this vet has to come and say that it would be best to just put her down. It's almost as is she was saying that coming into Banfield with my one FIV cat is a waste of her time and resources. I almost went off on her but behaved myself and instead here I am posting a review of my experience with this one vet. Now, I understand that FIV is a problem and can shorten the lifespan of a cat and expose them to other diseases like leukemia. Fine. But to suggest to put her down and dismiss the possibility of prolonging her life by providing great care is appalling. She is a happy, curious, and playful kitty whose condition is not hindering her life. So what the hell lady.

Called the office to schedule a sick visit for my cat. The receptionist was hurried and extremely rude. This was first was my first interaction with Banfield. I'll take my money and cat elsewhere. So I know we will be treated with respect.

I love the Banfield staff here and you can't beat the pet plan pricing! They definitely have been so tolerant in dealing with my difficult chipom and have been great with my kitten and new puppy as well.

Animal was taken in by a member of their staff from the parking lot and we were told to sit in our car while they diagnosed her problem. They finally called me 2 hours later. Told me they were still running tests and to remain in the car. After 5 his in the car we drove to Home Depot to use their bathroom! I did not care for their method of service. Got another call asking me how much I would spend on her care. I told them $3,500. They argued with me and said they needed more. After making me feel guilty l agreed to $5,000. Husband was not happy. They kept her for 3 days without letting us see her and charged us $4,985. They eliminated some testing to keep the price down! Never saw Veterinarian. Assistant gave us our paperwork. Dog is diabetic. I am thankful for their diagnosis but not the "parking lot" service.

I would give 5 stars if they had gotten my puppies weight correct on our initial visit! My puppy was weighed in his carrier per the instructions of the employee at the desk. We were told his weight would be taken again when seen by the vet.After getting home and reviewing his paperwork I saw that his weight had been recorded as 11.2 not the 6.5 that he was.I have since called the vet twice, once to check to see if the medication he was supposed to be given by me was safe due to the inaccuracy! I was told to hold off for 2 weeks. I called the second time to have this inaccuracy to be corrected! I was assured that this had been taken care of!I’ve looked at the app for Banfield and it still shows the incorrect weight!This is very important for accurate dosages of medication given, and to track my puppies weight gain for good health!I expect his medical records to be maintained as I would my own at my doctors!I will be watching closely in the hopes that all the information from here forward is correct!Concerned puppy mom!Cheryl McMillanPS:One other thing, I DO NOT like not being present when my puppy is in the examination area! I have NEVER had the occur before! Other vets are NOT doing this!

First of all, its incredily difficult to get in touch with them. We often have to wait 10-15 minutes to speak to someone, if they answer at all. Earlier this summer, they did not answer their phone for two straight days when my dog was ill and we were looking for advice. We wound up going to another local vet that consistently answers their phone in 2-3 rings. My dog wound up eventually needing surgery, so likely Banfiled wouldn't have helped in any case, but not being able to reach my vet in a time of need was frustrating and scary.Secondly, we have a wellness plan that is supposed to cover preventative medications, but we were charged almost $200 for medications at our last visit, for medication that should have been covered. I tried to get assistance via the store with minimal success, and then on the website where I was given conflicting information about whether or not the preventatives are covered (the same person saying yes they are, no they aren't, yes they are).I am assuming that corporate probably doesn't pay well or provide incentive to stay, because it's a constantly revolving team of staff, so you never deal with the same techs or doctors, and no one truly "knows" your pet. You get very little actual advice, and it doesn't feel like your concerns are being taken seriously.If your money is tight, they are good for puppy or kitten vaccinations and spay/nueters, but I would not recommend them for anything beyond that.

I am so disappointed in the service of Banfield in this area. We have taken our dogs to a banifield in multiple states for over 10 years and I have never been turned away like we have been at this location. Out if 5 different time over the last 4 months I've lived here we've tried to make appointments and we've been turned away 4 times and told go to the emergency vet. The tech I spoke to on the phone for the appointment has no sympathy towards pet owners trying to take care of their family and no professionalism when it comes to making any attempt to help. All of this makes having a banfield pet plan a complete waste of money and the final confirmation that we made the right choice in canceling both of my dogs plans next month. I have never had my pet so dismissed in a such uncaring way. I do not recommend this vet unless you want to have to go to the emergency vet every time you need them seen when it is not a "routine" appointment. I miss our other banfield offices we've loved in the past and am so disheartened that this is the reputation of the establishment in this area. This location and the Wilmington office (who injured my boy during care) are 100% the reason Banfield has now lost my monthly payments and anther loyal customer.

Other than that and how there isn't a cat groomer last I checked, this place is pretty good. If I find a cat groomer there (they have dog groomers) one day, this will change to five star review.

The Newark location is the absolute worst!You don't answer the phone. The business closes @ 4:30. I called at 15 minutes before 4:00 and the phone kept ringing. I could tell it was being redirected to the automated system.They give you a drop off time in the am and are never ready upon arrival. They also never have your pet ready at the time you request for pickup. I just don't understand what happened to the service at this location. It has gone to the pits since covid. Unacceptable!

I love Banfield and I recommend them to everyone. I've been a customer and pet parent to one dog since 2011. They've always been amazing to work with and the wellness plan has literally saved me SO much money. I've always wanted a dog growing up and hearing stories of friends and coworkers and the amount that they spend alone in vet costs just makes me so grateful to pay the $38 a month (less than $500 a year). The wait can be a little long from time to time with checking in and waiting for the vet, but the service has been great. They recently got a new staff to work the front desk and one girl in particular seemed very rude on the phone which I didn't care for whatsoever. Besides that, I will always be a customer of theirs.
