Disappointed with New Remodeling: Lacks Cashiers and Customer ConvenienceI was hopeful the recent remodeling at the College Square Acme would improve the shopping experience, but unfortunately, it hasn't.The biggest issue is the lack of cashiers. There's always only one person available, sometimes none leading to long lines and wait times. While self-checkout works for a few items, it's inconvenient for larger purchases. The limited space and lack of bagging areas make them even more frustrating.Adding to the inconvenience, the store only offers large carts. This makes quick trips for a few items cumbersome, and the lack of smaller options forces customers to use large carts they don't need.It's puzzling why the store doesn't simply hire more cashiers, especially with so many checkout lanes seemingly unused. This would significantly improve the shopping experience for many customers.I hope the store management considers these points and implements changes to better serve the needs of its clientele.

Y'all desperately need more stockers, the store looks like it exploded and so much expired merchandise. But shout out to that singular girl I saw stocking in pets today, she's holding the fort down with all those "live" uboats š

My husband was shopping with his 82 year old mother at 2:05 this afternoon. When he was ready to check-out his 4 items, he went to the only register that had a cashier (not self check-out). The female informed him she was closed. Without argument, my husband proceeded to the self-check out. While waiting in line, that same cashier waved for the 2 white customers behind him waiting at the self-check out to come to her register. After my husband had completed his transaction at the self-check out, he spoke with the assistant manager about the unpleasant experience. He informed her that the employee blatantly discriminated against them as they were the ONLY black people checking out. The assistant manager spent more time trying to make excuses for her than resolving the issue. (ex "maybe she was going on break") My husband pointed out that the employee NEVER CLOSED her line and as they were talking, she continued to service the white customers in the store. It was made clear that EVERYONE IS NOT WELCOME at this location.

Went in on Sunday to get wings and was told we donāt make wings on Sunday and have none in the back,when I told them I had 49 years with the company the deli manager got very angry when I said I will be calling tomorrow .we were in the store for over 35 minutes when she finally said we can make the wings by this time we walked out and left our cart I asked to talk to whoever is in charge I was told 3 different people and 1 was checking.I have never experienced such bad customer service.will never shop in this store again

There's a variety of costumes and accessories to choose from.There's also Halloween decorations.There's a parking lot.It's located in a plaza.There's bathrooms, but you need permission to use them and they are stall versions, which weren't stocked with a lot of toilet paper and paper towels.The entire building isn't used. It's really only about half. The other half is dead space that's blocked off.Staff seemed friendly.

I just wanted to let mgt know how great Frank in seafood is. I completely messed up my order but he was very patient and kind and fixed me order with a smile. Honestly if it was me and the day I had I would not have been so nice. Frank is a great employee and his customer service is fantastic something you donāt see nowadays.

The Acme in college Square has been in desperate need of a remodel for a very long time. I went in today to find that they are doing one now, but it looks like they are using the old refrigerators and shelving. Maybe I'm wrong. It was very hard to find things, and they had lots of stuff all over, so I had a hard time finding what I needed. I think I will wait 6 months before going back, and I will update my review when I do. So far the Lantana Square Acme is my favorite!

College square acme is clean and well stocked. It is large for an acme. They had a nice produce section, although a bit pricey.I liked their new generation self check out. Staff were friendly and helpful.

We needed help with customer serv but there was only one person handling all. We had to wait all together 30 min or so. Customer service was cordial and thorough explaining about the app and discounts etc

Some great items and kind employee's, but not perfect. I understand they may be remodeling, but as of now it's not that great. Many empty shelves and some employees look annoyed, but I did manage to find some great things here.

I bought 2 packs organic chicken breast from here (we all know it's not cheap). I thought I smelled a weird smell when I put the chicken in my cart but didn't think much about it. Got home, opened the chicken and it SMELLED rotten. This is not the first time I've come in contact with chicken/meat smelling from this acme location. I don't know what anyone else in the world is doing but I certainly won't eat meat that smells rotten. They have for sure lost my business which I never wanted to do because it's the closest store to my house. What a shame.

Gets worse every time I go there. I only use this grocery because it is close.Ugly, old, filthy and often disgustingly stinky. Chronically understaffed and half their shelves are bare. Seriously overpriced too. The organic grocery store has better prices, which is shocking.Their deli randomly closes early and has a terrible and unpredictable selection. Except for American cheese. They usually have 10 kinds of American Cheese.Whoever is in charge of ordering or delivering is failing.Their bakery is a bad joke. They either have almost nothing but Rye or no Rye at all. A smattering of donuts sometimes. Cheap looking but not priced, cakes.Their produce is almost always a disappointment and their organic options are extremely limited. The pharmacy there is absolutely horrible (mostly thanks to one particular pharmacist).This place needs a complete overhaul.Whoever is building the Grove needs to attract a different grocery store to the development and get rid of this one.

I unfortunately frequent this acme due to it's proximity. On multiple occasions I have grabbed items that were labeled on sale only to be told that they were not. Despite showing photos of the items with clear labels in front of them, this acme won't accept that they are falsely posting prices. I understand this may happen occasionally but this seems to be a common event when I go.

This is my favorite Acme location because it's very spacious and always has plenty of things on sale. The gift/flower section is very cute.

I live in Delaware, but made the drive to this repair place.Unfortunately, the parts needed to fix my HP weāre unavailable on the market so they weāre unable to help me.Iām still giving a 5 star rating because of the excellent customer service. They were pleasant, attentive and apologetic for my situation. They promised to contact me if the parts hit the marketāI believe them.If I find myself in need of repairs again, I will bring my laptop and stuff here.Itās easy to find. Donāt be worried that getting there takes you off the main road. Youāre going the right way.

Every time I go in, the produce section is severely lacking. The store is clean but it seems they may be under staffed since there is usually only one or two checkout lanes with a cashier working. Went through one of those after the Fourth of July and the cashier said something I couldn't hear. After several items were scanned he told me he had no bags. (That's what I had missed.) We would have to buy small reusable bags for $1 each because he apparently didn't have paper bags either. My husband happened to be with me so he ran out to the car to get our bags. (I had forgotten to grab them.) I'm glad he was there because I would have had to spend at least an extra ten to fifteen dollars on bags with the amount of items we had. I appreciate that they are doing away with plastic but a notice on the door would have been a nice reminder.

Update 2023: This place is a dump. I probably would not ever shop here if it wasn't so close and convenient. No shopping baskets. No bags for your raw meats. No bags at check out. It's really like they are trying to drive customers away. I realize the state made you stop using plastic grocery bags Acme, but paper is an option that was used for ages. Here's a research project for you: study up on "good customer service" and "put the customer's needs first". I guarantee that keeping these things in mind in everything you do will help your business.Update 2021: meats aren't fresh, frozen minute steaks ( Steak-ums and others are brown 50% of the time). We've been going to this location for 23 years but have had to start shopping elsewhere.My old, original review: Good sales but non-sale items seem high. I generally find good quality and reliable freshness in their products.

It was not busy at all, I walked in after searching for shopping carts outside & finding none, asked an employee where they were, and she told me people were stealing them so they stopped providing more than ~10 at a time⦠ridiculous? Fine for those of you just going to pick up a few things but forget about doing your biweekly shopping here.

Store is fine, but the hot food section is AWFUL. Chicken is consistantly dried out; rotisserie and fried. Over salted and just bad, and this is for 2 years I've been going there !! I'd rather go to the Acme by Prices Corner and use the gas.

Nice store got a decent selection prices are ok and do give some good coupons. My main issue is alot of the shelves especially freezer section are empty and don't have what I want more then half the time. But other times they do so it's a good place employees are usually nice and helpful but they do have like 2 or 3 that are just miserable and hate their lives but that's all places...

Avoid this Acme if you can. Poor selection with half empty shelves and seedy patrons. I also experienced rude and unhelpful service, but this may have just been the young man who checked me out and may not represent the whole store.

I used to shop here back when it was a Pathmark and I have to say, I really loved the old Pathmark, and when it was bought by ACME, it slowly started to change for the worse. The prices increased somewhat, and the product selection moved away from what I liked. What I liked about the old Pathmark was that it had a lot of local specialty products: they sold really high-quality milk from a local dairy, in glass bottles, and you could return the bottles. They sold home-made pierogies from a one-woman operation in Wilmington. They had a good selection of the local south-central-PA brands of hard pretzels. Overall it had more unique products and local products. Although this stuff didn't disappear overnight, it slowly started to vanish and now, in 2023, there is almost none of this stuff left. The only thing that this store retained that I like, is that it has a slightly better selection of cleaning products, paper products, and other non-food items, than is typical for an ACME. I really don't like the changes though and as a result I don't shop here much any more. My go-to regular supermarket is Food Lion, which is similar in quality but averages slightly cheaper. I prefer going slightly farther and going to ALDI, the Newark Farmer's Market on Kirkwood Highway, or Trader Joe's.

I've walked out of this place twice because the product was so terrible looking. There were rotting oranges out one time and wilted scallions. I'm hoping they get it together with their new renovation.

This Acme is as tired and rundown as College Square shopping center was before getting an overhaul as The Grove. Business around Acme seems to be going well for the other tenants and the updated facades are refreshing. Has Corporate Acme given up on this strategically located grocery store?
