I go to Bests' Ace Hardware mostly to buy birdseed but I usually find something else I want while I'm there. Their birding section is what I think really makes them stand out. They have a great, huge selection of bird food - seed, suet, nuts, etc., & enough bird supplies to keep all the birds in Rehoboth! They have so many cute little houses & feeders, and they have beautiful garden statuary and decorations. You can buy the seed by the brand, in pre-packaged bags, but I prefer their in store mix of seeds & nuts called "Tom's Mix". It's located in one of the galvanized trash cans in the front of the store, each filled with corn, millet, sunflower seeds or peanuts, both in & out of the shell, & more. You take a big scoop & put as much as you want in paper bags they supply. You pay by the pound & they weigh the bags at checkout. I find it to be more affordable and I get exactly what I want that way. They also have a good choice of seeds, bulbs, and plants for the garden and I always end up buying a bunch while I'm there. They have all the usual hardware store stuff - nuts, bolts, paint & supplies, plumbing needs & cleaning products, etc., etc., and you can order online and have it shipped to the store. The also have an interesting choice of "do-dads", little things like magnifying glass, marbles, pen knives, nail files, rubber balls and the like but better, and at Christmas time they have EVERYTHING you could ever need to put in your Christmas stocking!I enjoy birds so much! I put seed & suet outside & on my window sill and approximately 20 different kinds of birds visit me there almost constantly!

Local store close to our home here. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Helped me out with paint choices and some other items, knowing I was asking for a future purchase. I know Ace is a chain, but walking In and interacting with the people that worked here was like walking into a locally owned Mom & Pop store. I will definitely be back.

I keep going back to the Ace Hardware in Lewes because of its great customer service and staff. I am posting this edit because of course this Ace Hardware has moved recently due to the new road construction on Route 1 and 9 in Lewes. You don't have to go far down Route 9 to get to a hardware store that will beat the Big Box Stores every time on service and experience. I love to shop local and support this business. If you are in the area, check out the new Ace Hardware for your hardware needs.

This place is very difficult to get to from the east side of Rt 1. Also the new location is cramped and not as inviting as the old store.There were staff there, but nobody bothered to offer to help until just before I was ready to leave.

The employees are not allways customer friendly. When they know you they go from 3 to 10 on the customer helpful scale. I am glad their staff is becoming more diversed.You go there because you need customized help. There are some employees who aways have as much time as you need. One bad apple spoils it for others. I like being able to but online and gave it delivered. The delivery person is very customer friendly.

We were looking for Benjamin Moore Paint…so we went to Ace and will never buy paint anywhere else. Not only did they have what we needed, too notch customer service by Bryon in the paint department reminded us just how fabulous people can be. Lots of advice and suggestions since we weren’t sure what we were doing….even let us know we didn’t need a gallon of paint for the size area we were painting and saved us lots of $$ and wasted paint! Thank you Bryon and Ace hardware for making our Saturday a lot more fun and successful!!

I went to this store in Lewes to buy the Big Green Egg grill, and as soon as I walked in , Brett came over and started answering all the questions that I had about the grill. Then I decided to order it ; but I wanted to be delivered on a Saturday morning, so I could surprise my fiancee. Mike (the store manager) made sure to do everything possible to deliver the grill at the time that I wanted to . Paul was nice enough along with Brett to switch their work shifts that they werent even supposed to work , just to make my wish come true!I’m very thankful for Mike, Brett and Paul for being so professional, and providing an amazing customer service. Its very hard to find people now days that actually do their job with a smile in their faces and willing to help so much like they do. And just to finish up... today almost a week latter since I bought the grill, Brett just called me to let me know that an item that I was looking for arrived in their store! like WOW! He followed up to let me know that it was available. That’s awesome! thankyou so much guys, you are definitely the best store!! ❤️

This morning I called the store and spoke with Shila to check if they had a part for my Weber Grill, I had gotten the part number off the website. She check the inventory and said she had it, then visually checked to be sure it was indeed on the shelf. Then after verifying it was there, she offered to hold it for me at the customer service desk. Shila went up and beyond the call to give me excellent service, which is hard to find these days. Thank you very much for starting my day off with a smile.

Needed a P-trap to fix a sink drain, and this store had the exact part I needed. This after searching both Home Depot and Lowe's, which neither had.. I'd go to this place first in Rehoboth Beach before either of the big box stores. The staff at this Ace was friendly and helpful..even tried to see what else I could buy to give them a little extra business!

For several years it seemed every time I needed an obscure part, Lowe's and Home Depot didn't have it, but Best did.Now I stop here first. Knowledgeable and friendly, the only thing I'd go to the big stores for are larger items that benefit from space to spread out a variety.Add on top that they're a local family owned business.

Let me start by saying this is my go to hardware store in Lewes/Rehoboth. Many of the hardware needs I have are not standard and the staff at Ace is knowledgeable and goes above and beyond to help solve my problems. The most recent example is that I needed to find a missing part for a lamp. I took the whole floor lamp to the store. A staff member spend 15-20 minutes trying to find a piece that would fit. No luck. He than asked another staff member, Scott, if he knew where to find this part. Scott recognized this problem immediately and said that Ace did not carry that part it but I could find in on line. He helped me find the website and made sure I selected the correct part. I ordered the part - it arrived and was exactly what I was looking for. I have several other examples of the help I have received from the staff but you get my point.

Very rude employees. Stopped in for a shovel and my 3-year old (curently potty training) had to pee. They acted disgusted when they told me there was no public restroom. Weird store layout, so when aI asked for directions to the shovels, they seemed inconvenienced and speed walked to the point where my kid had to run to keep up. As checking out, I asked if they did a Military discount (as most hardware stores offer) and they rudely replied "we don't do that here." No "thanks for your service" or anything like that, just blunt and rude.Lowe's is next-door; definitely should have gone there.

There are Big Box stores all within .5 miles of this place, but if you need a quick stop hardware shop, this is it. No crowds, old school a little bit of everything here. 1 out of every 5 keys I have ever had made here actually works. Why do I think "this time will be different"?! It might be the guilty feelings or karmic result of parking here while I run into Surf Bagle!

Tired of going to home depot and Lowes who are always lacking in inventory and then finding it at ace.....now I just go there first and save a lot of time and aggravation and the people working there are much more helpful
