It's a small corner store but they sell subs and they're tasty. I had the chicken salad sub and can recommend.Wide variety of snacks and other sandwiches that can be ordered. If you're nearby in Dover and haven't been you should check it out!Prices are definitely reasonable. I'd be happy to go again.

This is prob my 2nd time visiting since new owners- they don’t miss! I love when a new owner keeps things pretty much the same. This sandwich is HITTIN!! The guys in there are cool af, store nice and clean n stocked. If you are complaining about the employees or service maybe u need to check your own vibe. Can’t wait to try their rice platters.Pics: turkey and swiss on white bread, chicken shawarma wrap w/ white sauce on side (BUSSIN - so good to dip fries in)

Went to Dover yesterday which was a Saturday to drop my girl off at HomeGoods and since she's on a new diet, she told me to go get myself some lunch while she's shopping. I quickly remembered The Grocery Basket at the corner of Mary and Bradford Streets. I wasn't sure what I was going to order but I had stopped in back in January briefly and I remember how busy it was in the kitchen and regulars were there ordering food. It smelled good in there and everyone seemed to know whoever walked in the door, like friends stopping in to say hello and ordering lunch. So I looked at the menu and then I asked for something that I didn't even see and that's a turkey melt. I asked if they could make it for me and they had no problem with my request. A couple orders before mine were some cheesesteaks and some other sandwiches, the people that came in for their lunches were the same as the last time, very friendly and short conversations about their day. And just a few minutes my turkey melt was up, then I grabbed a Lipton Georgia peach sweet iced tea, paid for my food and was pleasantly thanked for stopping in. Very nice staff working there and the two working in the clean kitchen moved like clockwork. By the way everyone wore masksI walked outside and took a picture of my sandwich and iced tea on a red, plastic crate, as soon as I picked up my still hot off of the grill turkey melt, it smelled delicious. I immediately took that first bite and it was wonderful, maybe the best turkey melt I've ever had and I had this one with a slice of tomato which I asked for and the tomato was perfectly ripe.The next time I come to Dover, I won't need to look at Google Maps or anywhere else, I'll know exactly where to go. I usually love going here, but yesterday I went in to get two cold subsOne large ham and cheese & one regular tuna salad sub.I came back home and had my large ham and cheese (which i have to say its not as full as they used to be.) But it is what it isBut my boyfriends sub was a repeat ham and cheeseTheir wasnt a tuna salad sub in the bagWas super dissapointed & mad

The new Grocery Basket is bringing The BX to Dover and I’m excited. A friend posted there food so of course I had to try it out. I ordered lamb and chicken over rice with the white sauce. My wife got the chicken. One word DELICIOUS❗️ the lamb was not on the rolling pin but it was good. We also got the cheesesteak with cheese fries. My kids enjoyed that. The new look is refreshing. Wishing they get the fountain soda machine back. Also begin accepting ebt again. I feel this store/restaurant is gonna be a true upcoming. Offering a little bit of everything. A must try THERE ARE ACCEPTING EBT AGAIN

The best kept secret jewel in Dover! I absolutely love stopping here any time I'm in town. From breakfast to dinner yippy won't be disappointed. It's definitely a staple in the community. The prices are reasonable and you get a lot of bang for your buck. I have attached a picture - half my turkey club sandwich. It was absolutely positively perfect! It's worth the stop. A little location but everything is made fresh to order so be prepared to wait a few but it's well worth it. ❤

Got a thing for Chicken, Shrimp or Lamb or Rice with *the sauce*?What about Chopped cheese? Chopped Fish?IYKYK The food is definitely worth finding this Lil spot on the corner. The prices won't hurt you're purse or wallet, maybe the waistline!(healthy alternatives too😉)

The food is inexpensive and freshly made to order. Just small inside and gets busy. The great thing is that you can order your food via phone and pick it up. They always have some sort of special monthly menu. I love the salads!

I usually hate trying food from new restaurants bc they always disappoint n I love food n flavor, I’ve been to the grocery basket 10+ years n it was good but the new owners menu items are freaking amazing!!!!! If u want authentic gyros lamb over rice etc. type food go NOWHERE else it was soooooooo good! N here’s to my first ever review! It was that good I needed to tell someone lol

Best sandwich shop in Dover still to this Day. The New owner has really done an incredible job fixing everything up, yet keeping the same old school feel. I lived on Bradford Street, so food and ice cream chips with my Youngest 3 kids...

Food was solid. The store is small and I'm a big dude, so I didn't dig that. But once I ate that first bite. All was forgiven!!!! Definitely gives me that Philly Corner Store vibe.

Not from the area and wanted a good sub other than Wawa which seems to be the onky place the locals go, so I was referred here. The turkey sub was good and fresh. The chicken salad was really good as well. The people working were very nice and professional. I will definitely be back.

This is a family-owned family Run Deli / store . Not only do they make sandwiches Subs but they also have a little store. they go out of their way to make you happy again they are family-owned so if they don't have something they will get it for you. they have coffee tea hot chocolate microwave to stuff or they can also make you something hot and fresh from The Little Deli they have they also have an ATM inside they take cash or credit or debit cards. The only downside about this is their location I wish their location was closer to 13 on the main highway I think they would be bigger and better

New owners, food is low grade. Bought burgers and the rolls were soggy as well as the burgers. I thought they had boiled the meat. It's just very low grade meat. I'll never buy from them again. Almost 10.00 for 1.50 worth of bad food.

I have been visiting for years. Today was very disappointing for me. My order was not complete and I was told that it would be an upcharge to have my food places in a styrofoam tray. I hate to be the one to double and triple check my food. I hope the new employees figure it out. It's a shame because this place has a high standard.

Food has fallen off since like 3 years ago or more. But okay place.Stop in last week. Awful subs. Don't know whats going on. But nasty subs. Not saying I wont return but that place is the worse. Waiting on them to care and do better.

The cooks are great Shalonda but they changed the sausage no taste n raised the price I order 2sausage egg n cheese sandwiches use Tony's Sausage!!! That's why I got them new owners are the same as Tony's on Kenton Rd.

There are a number of well known sub shops in and around Dover. The Grocery Basket beats them all. The ladies that work there are it's best assets. They provide consistent quality and a cheerful atmosphere. These are true Delaware subs. I have been a customer of the location, known by different names for over 30 years and consider myself as a "sub snob". Their Cold Italian subs and cheese steaks are the greatest! My mother liked the burgers. Try them once and you too will hooked.

Food ok sad to see that if you like a certain thing they up the price smh. They took away EBT that store thrived because it catered to the college and school kids who often relied on their parents stamps for food an snacks. Food id good now don't get that wrong just wished they'd make prices more affordable for the area folk they serve.

Awesome breakfast options and great subs/cold cuts. Sometimes at night it can have a lot of college crowds and questionable folk there as has gotten robbed a few times. But that doesn’t stop me from enjoying the food
