This place is a time saver as the orange box store is 9 miles away. Shop local, support local. I have gotten mouse traps, spray foam, nuts and bolts to cleaners and when my belt went on my walk behind mower they had a large selection of belts that had me cutting grass in no time. Large selection of canning items an the Staff is friendly and helpful and even let me use her cell phone for looking up a part number as i forgot mine. Thanks!!

It's refreshing to walk into a store and get the kind of help you get from such a knowledgeable and friendly staff, I'm old school and appreciate the time I save when shopping here. Just wanted to give a shout-out to True Value of Winchester on Main St. & their employees! I was at Tractor Supply earlier today & was looking at a few items. I then remembered that True Value in Winsted might have these same items & thought it’d be nice to give a locally-owned store the business instead. Went to True Value & not only did they have what I wanted, it cost much less than Tractor Supply! It’s amazing the amount of items True Value has & how good their prices are. As always, True Value’s employees were extremely helpful & courteous!

A great experience every time!I have been shopping here for several years now. When your house is older than Betty White then you always have something to fix. Yesterday it was a new valve for a leaky tub faucet. The woman behind the counter found the right item in less than two minutes. How long would that take at the big orange warehouse store? I've picked up mulch, potting soil, switches, gang boxes, gloves, outlets, tools, whatever without wasting my day. The employees are not only friendly they're knowledgeable. Pick their brains, take advantage of their experience.

Employees were very pushy. I was asked 3 times if I needed help, which was annoying because the first time I was asked the kid couldn't find what I needed. So I looked around and kept getting pestered.
