Just got to Petsmart. It’s cleaner, cheaper by A LOT, and employees aren’t just texting instead of checking you out. Floors are clear of fluids / areas that may cause a bad fall.I was told there’s pee all over the store. I slipped on the pee and looked to informed the ONLY employee I seen around the store. I didn’t want anyone else to SLIP and HURT themselves…. On PEE that could make someone get seriously injured. I guess it’s just a job for people. I’m just taken back at the fact it’s OKAY to have urine all over the floor and be OKAY with people slipping and falling because someone doesn’t want to clean it up. I bet the pee is still there. I was only told sorry for the “texting” because they were looking for their coworker… so I had to wait to check out anyways…. Not a big deal just like the fact me slipping isn’t a big deal either. This is my first and last time going there. Im very disappointed and hurt. The store is just NOT up to par. Please do better.

Had 2 appointments for grooming for my dogs at 8:15 AM. No one showed up. FInally around 8:45, someone from inside the store came out and told me that the groomer was a no show and they couldn't get in touch with her. Glad I took a personal day off from work for no reason.

Order online and pick up in store. Very convenient feature with discount. The drawback is very few employees who do not make themselves visible when you visit the store. Maybe this is to downsizing or management choice?

Went to the Windsor location to look around after shopping. Not a bad layout, but my concern was the Guinea pigs. They had some long haired Guinea pigs that has pee stains and they were huge too. Hoping they are getting proper care as sitting in their own pee can have consequences and Illnesses.

Jason is the most unprofessional excuse for a store manager at this location. When setting up an interview, he couldn’t be bothered to leave a voicemail. Instead I had to call him back at the store to inquire. Company will also try to severely underpay you. Don’t apply here

Offered discount for online purchases picked up in store. Quick and easy pick up. The dog bed I purchased is amazingly comfortable, I curled up with my pup and fell asleep. The cat enjoys it too! Blanket is soft and lightweight

Bought a bag of dry dog food and 5 cans of dog food. The cashier informed me there were no bags. For the prices I paid for those few items, the least I could have received was a bag to carry the items out in. Completely pathetic. We as consumers are just supposed to take it.

When I brought in my 3 month old guinea pig I purchased from the Windsor petco a few weeks later he developed an upper respiratory infection. Piggy smallz had to be treated for 14 days it killed me being away from him. I just wanna give a big thank you from me and piggy smallz for the staff and especially Jennifer and Kait for taking such great care of my piggy and treating him and dealing with me calling to check up on him along with visiting him. They were very very kind understanding and helpful during his recovery. I am so happy to have him home but I was very relieved he was in great hands while he was having his treatment thank you guys again so much piggy smallz (grey and white guinea pig) says thank you guys so much❤️

The FreshPet food flavor that I buy my dog was not available. I bought another flavor but my dog would not eat it. I was so happy that I was able to return it :) I asked to hold a guinea pig and was able to do that and really enjoyed it. Everyone I encountered at the Windsor, CT store was so kind and helpful on both days that I visited. They were awesome :)

I usually go to the Enfield, Ct store but sometimes I will go to the one in windsor. Both of them are nice and clean and easy to find what I'm looking for. I have never had a problem with any of the cashiers, they've all been very friendly

Horrible customer service. They constantly reschedule my dog’s appointments. I specifically asked if they were going to be done grooming my dog within 4 hours when they had to reschedule our appointment and they said absolutely. I went in for our appointment and the worker shared that she wouldn’t be done with my 10lb dog in 4 hours. I politely said I needed to be somewhere that afternoon and I specifically confirmed the day prior if they would be done grooming my dog by a certain time and was told yes. The female worker then raised her voice at me and said she can’t guarantee being done in 4 hours as she proceeded to try to take my dog from my hands.

Never again, first told would be a 3 hr.appointment . At end ,after showing up twice to get dog and rudely spoken to. Got baby out of there 5.5 hrs later! NEVER AGAIN. NEVER AGAIN!

Took my 3 years old Shih Tzu Chanel to Petco on 06/23/2023 for a grooming the staff did an excellent job on her and they were very knowledgeable I was truly impressed with the overall experience. Awesome job Petco will definitely be going back and referring Petco to all my friends and family. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

I go for my favorite Groomer(s)- Henri & Wendy has been the best with our 8-month-old pupOn the other hand Petco need help on the floor and cashiers- And they're always out of stock of the certain kind of food

Petco markets walk-ins for nail trimming and other services. I walked in 10 minutes after the store opens. The salon manager, Henry, says, "This location doesn't accept walk-ins." He then makes a negative note about my dog who he hadn't interacted with, so that I can't book future appointments online. (Discovered that gem after I left.) I drove up to Enfield store right away. They took my dog no problem, and were able to describe/identify Henry (with big eyerolls) just from the basics of my story. They said ALL petcos are required to take walk-ins, though they might need to wait, unless it's too close to closing time. Just my experience, but I'll be skipping the Windsor store.

Jennifer was very helpful with explaining the betta fish instructions to me and helping me find a substitute food for my dog . If i could give a rating for tom it would be a -5 he was just rude and seemed like he didn’t want to be bothered at all I said excuse me in the aisle to get his attention and he walked away from me twice which is just unprofessional as a manager if you ask me.

Went to check out the parakeets and there were 27 of them with only two small food bowls! The seed was 90 percent eaten and one could easily observe the budgies were hungry. There were two millet sprays that were picked beyond clean and the birds were picking at everything to try and eat but there was nothing, Many of the birds were big for parakeets so why was there no additional food and only two small food containers with 90 percent eaten seed. It also doesn't help that one of them like to sit inside the food bowl and fight whatever bird approaches. Get more food inside those parakeet cages and clean out the picked sprays etc!!!!!!! That is not okay!!!!

We routinely use Petco mostly for nail care and occasional grooming, but this time was crucial as (dog) had been SKUNKED and reeked. Despite having twice warned that they might not "get it all out," the result was outstanding with only a little shampoo perfume aroma leftover. The skunk odor was gone!

The employees were pleasant and helpful, but the Conures looked incredibly sad in their solitary cages, picking at their own feathers. Could they be provided with more enrichment or attention? Maybe house them together?This next observation is directed more towards the Petco Corporation...I noticed a sign on the Conures' cages that noted Petco has an adoption first attitude (dissuading folks from purchasing in store). This is fantastic that adoption is being promoted, but what is the purpose of having these beautiful and intelligent birds that live 20+ years sit there like display product? This feels directly in conflict with the animal's well-being. Appreciate your consideration.
