90% of the time I come here I try to buy yellow/sweet/Vidalia onions and every time the individual ones are wet, mushy, or look moldy or bruised. Today even the bagged onions had spots like mold on them. I understand that onions peel and that the inside might be fine. My question is why? I have a photo from today where they look like they have mold spots. They do not look like this anywhere else. Does anyone else see this when they go?

Overwhelmingly mid-tier.The good parts:- Fresh food is usually very fresh and good quality.- Almost always in stock.- Mostly logical layout.- Mostly clean looking.The bad parts:- Very unhelpful staff (across the board, I'm not exaggerating at all), which is weird since they're union and should be happy about their job.- Loud, and also very bad music sometimes. Just get rid of the music, for God's sake! We're there to shop, not dance.- Only 1 or 2 registers open, usually, and the rest is self checkout. I'm not ringing out my own groceries - I don't work for you. Don't make me laugh.- The stupid robot that always gets in my way or creeps up on me when I'm minding my own business. The thing gives me the creeps. The oversized roomba should be replaced with a human being, as I'm sure there are plenty of poor people in the area that would love working there.- Again, the registers. You have like 30 of them. Put people in them. I'm not ringing out my own stuff. Period.Fix these things for more stars.

Clean , friendly, quick...The MT Bank is #1 over the other local branches. Eager to help. The staff at S&S here is quick and helpful. This is a well managed Stop &Shop. They always have good meat selection and the freshness is always there with their vegetables. Never had an issue ...

I've always loved S&S...& their generic products(S&S Brand) R good 4generic store brand , can't say that about a lot of other places , that's 4 sure!! So, I'll continue to b loyal to stop ~n~ shop.

Great selection on products and produce and the prices are pretty decent. Just like Walmart I wish they'd have more cashier's available for checkout instead of self checkout only. Those self checkout machines suck and are always holding everyone up!

Chris, in the florist department, did an amazing job on our Mom's funeral sprays & basket today..We received so many compliments & they were absolutely beautiful! She was amazing to work with, helping with colors, picking flowers & it all came together beautifully ❤️ Thank you so much & she deserves to be recognized for her natural talent 🤗

I had left my wallet in the self checkout and when I went back, it had been given to the front desk with everything in it, including $100. The girl working self checkout had turned it in intact. Than a few days ago my friend left her phone and wallet in a cart outside. When we noticed 45 mins later we went back and the cart collector had turned it in customer service, also completely intact. Stop and shop really looks out for their customers!

This place is truly going downhill, and fast. There has been a lingering smell that is absolutely unbearable emanating from the back room. It's a reflection of all the other disgusting elements this store has on display. Moldy produce. The onions especially. Boxes never replaced and covered with mold. Expired products all over the store, especially the cheese department. Everything just seems dirty, which might be why the staff seems so miserable here. Nobody seems to care about this store. Go visit the local co-op in Willimantic and see what a difference cleanliness and friendliness make.

I called this location to determine if they sold money orders and stamps, which they confirmed. I showed up to purchase a money order approximately five mins later only to find the customer service desk was “closed” for 12 mins, to close out the lotto machine and count the drawer. No mention was made of this by the gentleman over the phone and the attitude of the young woman at the desk (Veronica) was just “oh well” rather than apologetic. Terrible customer service!Then a cashier started arguing with her, telling her she had to still help customers while she did that. Thankfully a young man came up behind the counter and started helping people. Sorry, but that’s not the right attitude for customer service!

I'm just curious why all the check out lines are 12 items or less? Than you have a self checkout line? IDK? Than you have Marty riding around 😆 The Bakery is always fresh, pharmacy very helpful. The Stop & Shop employees very courteous.

I buy ham from the deli , after 2 day of eating it i notice it have bunch of of pieces of plastic ! i will not buy ham at this store again !

It's your standard Stop and Shop. The prices and selection aren't bad but it's not the best store I've seen in the chain.

The staff could be a lot more social. Everyone here seems to only want to help if asked. They are polite and very helpful when you approach. Prices are great if you're shopping to look for sales use the app and clip coupons. One of the only stores in the area to offer more then just an ethnic isle. There is variety and curbside pick up is good. I do wish they didn't use as many brown paper bags as they do since you get charged for them. Sometimes the bagging is done with too much in one bag or breaks, or you get a lays potato chip bag with 70% air, 30% grocery items.

First of all today the girl at the Customer service lottery ticket station try to turn me away saying she closed soo I look at the clock it 7:59 she open up at 8am. Not my first time getting money order from there. She was rude told me the machined didn't work, her boss came out the back door fix it with a flick of a button. Smh. Ur job is to cash people out and bag groceries @stock shelves . But she got time to smell like cheap perfume she need to be retrained. Or put the collect groceries carts. I can be rude too.

We have not been going to this store for 2 main reasons. 1 being we feel that the prices are too high and two the building is in a state of disrepair. As you can see in the attached photo the siding on the building is rotting off the wall. The siding along the whole length of the face is rotten. I can't help but associate the state of repair and the visible wood rot to the quality of the food I am purchasing. Do they treat the produce like they treat the building? I hope not but I cannot rid myself of the association. I get that it's Willimantic and not a fancier town but they need to reinvest in the structure. Just like banks use imposing edifices to convey a sense of permanence, grocery stores need to look fresh, clean and well kept. This conveys that the food shares the same characteristics. Step it up stop n shop!

This store always has great produce, way better than Walmart or price chopper. The prices are always good and there's always a good selection of things that Walmart just doesn't have or never has in stock. I do a lot of vegan cooking/baking and I can almost always find what I need here.

Went yesterday to buy things at stop & Stop and it was busy yesterday I’m glad they have a lot of cashiers on a busy day and I’m very impressed with the kid who cashed me out that girl named Vanessa I believe what I saw on her tag had an excellent customer service!! did very quickly at the cashier and I am glad I don’t have to wait in line for so long but she did amazing and also bag at the same time and don’t mind at all putting the boxes of sodas underneath the cart. She was a very friendly person and helpful. That made me continue to shop there , I give you guys a five stars for excellent clean environment and well stocked and organized and all the workers who work there and such a good community there. Merry Christmas you guys .

Layout of store makes it difficult to move around comfortably. Self checkout registers are a cluster. They need more staffed registers. Cashiers are well trained and friendly. Shelves are well stocked.

An almost old-fashioned grocery store. Prices tend to be higher than Walmart, Aldi's, or the Job Lot, but, in general, a wider selection of brands and more variety. Some items not always in stock. Was looking for mirin; shelf empty. But Walmart had it (at that time). Not everything I wanted is available at any of these stores: rye flour.

I always find everything I need here. The store is clean and shelves are always stocked. The staff is very friendly too. The floral department has an excellent selection of high quality flowers and the bakery is top notch as well. Love their cakes!
