Obviously they have a great business and they pack alot of stuff into the stores but they are becoming less of a discount store. Prices are way up and the quality of the items way down. Stores are very inconsistent depending on location.

I do a lot of my food shopping at OSJL. They generally have a good stock of "the usual" packaged goods and a lot of unusual items you can't find elsewhere, all at very good prices.

I like this place, very reasonable prices, especially on clothes. You can get a nice plaid shirt for 7 bucks or a warm alpaca layered hoodie for 15, now that's a great deal!

I recently moved into a new apartment, and had to get a few important things (area rug, curtains, etc.) I have to say that I will only go to Ocean State Job Lot from now on. First, the quality and diversity of their products is superb. The best part is that certain items were a fraction of the cost compared to Walmart.

One of my favorite places. Good prices, great products, and always friendly staff. One note of caution always check your receipt. Almost always find items priced higher than advertised. One time even found a jar of peanut butter listed yet had not purchased any. Buyer beware.

Ocean State is one of my long-time favorites, and yet another reason I'm glad to be moving back to Connecticut! You can find all kinds of things at great prices, and though you may not always find the specific item you intended to buy, chances are you won't leave empty-handed.Don't forget to check out the health and beauty and food sections—I've reliably found fantastic deals on name-brand products.One more update: Ocean State is reliably a great place to find stuff from Bob's Red Mill at good prices, as well as nuts and dried fruits from various manufacturers.I make a lot of protein bars and similar things for my family, and Ocean State often has the best prices on ingredients if I don't need them in Costco-sized packages.(That said, don't go when you're hungry: the snack aisle can be hazardous to your financial health! Too many delicious options 😅)

The store has a lot of great things there .I found that they have gluten free items and sugar free items for those on a restricted diet . They have the insider card so you get the instore coupons off every savings helps these days and they also accept EBT cards there too there food prices on canned and dry goods. Are cheaper than the grocery store. I love shopping there

It's great place but you have to know what your looking for.Store was clean , people polite who work there. I was disappointed they didn't have what I wanted. But I found a substitute. Checking out was fast and easy.

They have these novelty beach blankets hanging up on the wall, but yet they don't have them for sale because they've sold out of them. I asked her if I could please buy the one off the wall, and she just shook her head no and kept ringing me up. I told her that they were no longer available on the store floor so why advertise them? She just said, I'm not getting up there. I said that if she'd give me a ladder, I'd get up there and get it. It's just hanging with push pins. It was just the way she went about answering my questions or lack thereof. She didn't even made eye contact, she just shook her head no twice. So I asked another girl on the way out the door, and she said "sure I don't see why not", and she was about to get it down, but then girl number one stopped her and said not to do that. So girl number two shrugged at me and said she was sorry, but that was the boss. So their customer service at this location sucks.

I wish there’s an option for a zero star.STAFF are the worst ever. The manager and Nicole stole my money. I was returning 2 umbrellas because There was a cut in them right after I bought them. They refused to return and give me the full price. They returned them with no taxes. How come!!! They took the taxes to themselves. This is ILLEGALAnd one umbrella costs 45$, they gave me only 29.99$ so they didn’t want to give me the full price I paid and the other umbrella costs 30$ and they only gave me 25$They are thieves. Omg!! I can’t believe that they did that and they were so rude to me and refused to return in the beginning. There is always return especially the things I bought were damaged. Those women don’t understand anything and they are making ILLEGAL actions.I hope owner look into that.

This place has pretty much anything and everything you can think of. I often find cool food and condiments, like one time, they had Peri-Peri hot sauce. They carry a lot of seasonal items, such as holiday needs (wrapping paper, ornaments, etc.) and yard tools (rakes, shovels, fertilizer, etc.), depending on the season. Their prices are low although some items are priced similarly to other places. Make sure to sign up for their insider card/program because they offer some really great deals with it. They often have items for "free" where you buy the product and then you get a gift card for the amount of the product to use on your next visit.

I really love this place! You can really save on many many things. I particularly go there when I need olive oil and toiletries, and much to my delight they have a beautiful selection of yarn! Great clothing finds too!

Friendly staff. Large selection of assorted product. Not my usual kind of store. 40% "bonus" for rolled coins is not being offered anymore (removed one star from my original review) Found several items on my shopping list, as well as some other items that actually cost more at Walmart. Not likely that I will make an effort to visit this location anymore, as I have moved away and it's no longer "local" for me. Worth it to keep an eye out for "Crazy Deals", where they give you back what you spend on a gift card.

Ver nice and very clean store! I want to thank Christopher and David for their help today. I visited two stores trying to locate the wicker recliner chair and then called six stores!
