More expensive then larger chain stores with less variety of items they carry. I was suprised when I went recently that they didn't carry cement dye. However they do have more variety of outdoor activity items compared to other home improvement stores and a seasonal outdoors isle that say now in spring/summer will have pool chemicals, some fishing stuff, and camping equipment. Where you won't find anything like this at home depot ever. They also carry higher quality paint then home depot or lowes in my opinion but with better quality your gonna pay higher prices. It's no use comparing what store is less or more expensive anymore cause everything nowadays is expensive. Better finding stores that have variety of items you are looking for with helpful & friendly staff & this store definitely has friendly & helpful staff unlike home depot where if you ask for help from someone it's almost always not their department & say they will get someone to help you. Then you stand waiting for 20min. for this person to come help you to only leave in frustration because your sick and tired of waiting.

The staff at this location have such great attitudes. The team makes you feel welcomed the moment you walk in.. I had a very positive experience with Steven in the paint department and the young ladies working up front. They happily accommodated my requests and really did everything they could to help, which I appreciate as a customer. Keep up the great work!!

I really hate to write this review. First of all the employees are the nicest people. They were polite and helped me loade my purchase. I just purchased a lawnmower for almost $500. I get home and the lawnmower is a piece of junk. It wont cut , it bogs down and stalls in the greenest of grass. Decide I would bring it back as I cannot use it nor afford to lose almost $500 and guess what I look at my receipt and it says says all sales final. You have got to be kidding, a $500 item that does not work and I cannot return to the store. If I bought this at Home Depot I could have brought it back. And lets be honest here I don't like home depot. I much prefer to give to the local stores. Sorry Ace but I would not recomment this store.I have met with the owner and I now understand their no return policy and accept it, but the mower does not stand up to its advertisments in it videos. While others are mowing their lawn I cannot. If there is a little bit of moisture in the grass it will not mulch. It just clogs up. You have to wait until the grass is almost bone dry and then it cuts it erratically. I should have read the reviews before purchasing as they all have the same complaint as me. I purchased this mower and now own it.Should ace accept the return? I don't believe so. I looked at the mower went on there sight looked at their pictures and video and made my choice. They advertise this mower as something it is not. They show discharge chutes for this mower but it does not come with one. I must give this mower a one star rating if I could give it a zero I would. I have already contacted Toro with a bad report and complaint and very much doubt whether I will hear from them as this is just another pice of machinery made in China.Now as far as the Ace store in Watertown I have nothing but good things to say about this store and will continue to shop there. Great people, great products and great service.

Great customer service. A younger guy helped me pick out lightbulbs and even plugged some in so I can choose the correct color. I didn’t ask him to, he just did it and was a huge help. The cashier was also super sweet. I wish I got their names to post in the review.

Excellent service. Carlos special ordered a toilet for me that had been canceled online. It came in faster than expected. Kept my bathroom remodel on schedule. Great place. Will definitely do much more business with them.

Even though its tends to be more expensive then other stores, I like Ace, I can always find what I'm looking for. The store is always clean & organized. And most importantly, the employees are helpful & kind. In this day & age, it's hard to even find employees, but everyone working at Ace is great. The employees are helpful & you can always find someone to find what you are looking for. So I don't mind, paying a little extra. To me, it's worth going to Ace!!

Update, I really didn't want to do this, but I feel that I an no longer shop at this store. I have been able to find everything I need, they have a great selection, and for the most part employees are great.There is one cashier who treats me like absolute garbage every time I am in the store. I don't know her, never met her before she started working here, and until my last visit when I told her to drop the attitude I have never been rude to her. Maybe when I hear that she has moved on to a new place to be rude to people, but for now, the Watertown ACE is not the place for me.

Every time I walk into this store (which is often) an associate always asks me if I need help finding anything (I always do). The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. And the store has everything! I'm so glad we have this in Watertown so I don't have to drive into Waterbury.

Great selection, great customer service. What more could you want?Always greeted with a smile and asked if I need help. Incredibly thankful to have this place open here. I was afraid after Kmart was gone it would just sit vacant for a long time. Can't think of anything better here. The store is large. Selection is exceptional. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Justin has been especially helpful with a couple things I needed assistance with. I have heard nothing but positive from other neighbors as well. This is a great hardware store. Thank you.

Great variety and customer service. They always have what you are looking for and any spur of the moment project materials. We had Nick helping us today and he was very friendly and personable. We will be coming back regularly and are part of the Ace loyalty program.

Store has a couple dogs tied up in the back of the store, which wouldn't normally bother me, but it's definitely not cool when you're unaware they're there and the big black one jumps up at you and starts to growl and bark at you. Could be a decent store but I didn't stick around to check it out. I love dogs, don't get me wrong, but if you're going to have some in your store they shouldn't be growling or barking at customers. I will not be back.

By far the best Hardware store around. The staff is all about customer service every time I have been to either this or their Woodbury store. Glad to see their hours on Sunday are later than 1:00. Keep up the great work!! Support local folks!!

Stop in Ace for the first time and was very impressed. Upon entering we were greeted by a friendly staff and a store that’s much bigger than it appears from the outside. They have more grilling and lawn care tools and products than most home centers. Quality tools and hardware you don’t mind investing in. They carry Mikwaukee tools, Dewalt tools and Craftsman tools all fair priced and will certainly appeal to the folks who swear by those brands. Plenty of bird feeding supplies and even Big Green Egg Grills or whatever they’re called. Located in the same plaza as La Bonnes is a plus for both businesses and consumers.
