This place surprised me. Small and unassuming but a great variety of fish. I just got into the hobby a few months ago and tried a few other places but very happy I came here. Staff was nice and helpful. I had been looking for a certain kind of fish and they were able to order it for me and had them within the week. Good selection of live plants as well.

By far one of the best kept, clean, and well stocked establishments I have been to. The younger woman working there was more than kind to help add live plants, glass rocks and fish to my existing tank. The staff definitely know what they are doing and are patient with unsure customers. I will definitely go out of my way to come here again for all of my aquarium needs!!

4/2024 chris, alex and analise the team.. are wonderful team of aquarium specialists.. i will tell you u will get qualified knowledgeable staff about fish, tanks, and supplies. If they do not have something they will order it for u.. no charge! Waterbury aquarium is not just better than petsmart, petco etc.. but you get healthy fish and good advice..! And everyone is older than 16yrs old..lol great parking and lots of real selections of tropical or fresh, worms for bait and foods and tanks..! And discount cards up to 20 percent off.! Mon-sat open at 10am.. do not wait! Fish, fish and plants etc.. i am happy fish 🐟

Starting this review off by stating that im a 12year aquarium hobbiest. C&T pets (waterbury aquarium) is a decent store with knowledgeable people. Only complaint is that due to them being the only true aquarium store in the area, they inflate their prices. Some used aquariums they sell are only $100 off of a brand new tank. And if you were to bring in a used set up in good shape they are more then happy to offer you pennies on the dollar to take it off your hands. Then turn around and sell it for near close to new pricing. Big slap to the face. Petco sells their fish for nearly half the price, but the employees cant help you with your aquarium. (The aquarium hobbie is a bit frustrating) Ive still shoped at C&T pets for nearly 6 + years, it is a semi clean shop with a wide selection of fish. But I understand why the world is moving away from buying in stores and now going to online, pricing, value, live arrival guarantees. Might just end up being easier.

Don’t even waste your time here no one acknowledges you and you end up waiting for help while the employees just stare at you because they want to go home. This is the second time I’ve waited over 15 minutes for help

Love this place. It's mainly freshwater selection but from time to time they have some nice saltwater fish. Prices are decent depending on what fish it is. I'm a saltwater guy so my only wish is for more saltwater selection.

Absolute terrible, terrible, terrible customer service. I called repeatedly about saltwater aquarium set up. One representative stated that it was indeed a service offered. Left two messages no one ever returned my call. Called again today and now the representative stated they do NOT set up saltwater tanks, only cleans it. Then after going back and forth about the misinformation given, she states my location is too far and it's definitely not possible. They are not rude I will give them that but everyone needs to be consistent with their information!

This place is every aquarist's wet dream.The care taken and quality of health in the fish here are among the best I've seen in any local store.Truly a hidden gem of central CT and the staff are incredibly knowledgeable so everyone will find exactly what their looking for, from beginners to experienced hobbyist.

The fish selection here is pretty good, the plants are better than average, and the supplies are the best within at least 45 minutes' drive of the location. I've been going here for a while and am reasonably happy with it. However, the last time I was here, there were employees not wearing masks. I happened to mention this on Facebook, and the deleted my comment, which was not appreciated. Many customers do not wear masks as well, and unfortunately I don't feel comfortable shopping here until it's safe. I mentioned it to the manager, who was very polite, apologetic and accommodating, and did have the employee put on a mask after explaining "I can't get him to wear it - I keep trying." Very appreciated, and also not good enough. I'll come back and increase my star rating when I feel it's ethical to recommend it again, and when I feel comfortable shopping here again.

I am freshwater and will have to say that they have a good selection of all varieties. I've been buying my guys from here once in a while and they are pretty hearty. My last visit was a pleasant surprise to the stock they had. As far with saltwater and brackish aquariums, you'll be interested in checking them out and seeing what they have to offer. It is a tight fitting store to maneuver around in but a definite recommendation to be there and buy some cool fish or anything aquaria. Lastly they are very helpful with what you are looking for.
