I only needed to pick up 2 things. I was in the store longer than what was necessary because of the outrageous lines. I have shopped shoprite for years and no matter where they move to it’s always the same issue. It’s freezing and I had to park very far because the lot is full. I can’t say they are under staffed, or they need better staff. All I can say is if you are going to go be prepared to be in line for a few. I have even went at 7 a.m and even then you get stuck in a line because it seems they only have 1 cashier for the elderly and the rest have to go to self checkout. Their system is way more sensitive than Bj’s. So then you need a cashier to help... 🤷🏾‍♀️I do like the prices and my grams loves this pie. All and all not a bad store.

FINAL UPDATE: Store officially to close on Thursday, October 13, 2022 @6:00 pm (see below). Until then, what's left is 75% off.UPDATE: This store is still technically open, however I went in and spoke with a manager today (10/7/22). I was told that while there's no official closing date yet, as of last week, shelves are not being restocked, a lot has been removed, and what's left is being sold at 50% off (up from 25% off last week). Mostly what's left are shelf stable items and some frozen foods, kitchen items, and health care products.Today, 9/28/22, I took my weekly trip to Shoprite for groceries, and I couldn't believe what I saw. There's a sign on the entrance window stating that the store is closing! I'm shocked because I just shopped here last Wednesday and had no clue! I looked it up online, and while many articles mention a closing date of November 11, technically an actual date has not yet been announced. You enter the store, and many of the shelves are completely bare, which is disheartening. They simply had none of the items that I needed 😢.As a huge fan of Shoprite for many years, I will definitely miss this store. Thank you for serving Waterbury for 40+ years.

I love ShopRite because you pay way less for fruits and veggies, compared to other grocery stores. I didn't give this store 5 stars because there are times when the fruits and veggies here don't look as fresh as they should.

I work long shifts starting at 8am until late hours often, and had always found myself frequently being rushed out by Stop & Shop employees. One day I found the Stop & Shop proudly claiming they were closed, but I saw on Google maps that Shop Rite was still open. So I rushed over there. They were still open and I was able to find everything I needed. Today as I was running around and needed some quick groceries, I had the thought, Stop & Shop clearly finds my presence 20 minutes before closing super annoying, so I just drove a little longer (stop light) across the street. Upon my arrival, I was greeted by two young staff moving carts, …. with a smile and a welcoming presence! I found my essentials and was on my way. No pressure, no shaming me, and better prices for same quality. I think I found a new grocery store.

Prices are good. The store today was a hot mess. I don't know why a company would hire people to reset shelves during the day. This is a process that should be done when it won't impact customers. The aisles are small enough without people and multiple carts. Our cashier was amazing friendly and quick. Really made today a great experience. Thank you Mia

I went to Stop & Shop last night looking for a specific spice for pasta salad they did not have it. I then asked one of the girls up front who was leaning on a shopping cart full of what looked like items to be restocked reading one of the local junk newspapers and I asked her if she was familiar with the item? As expected per her posture she only replied “it would be with the spices or we don’t have it.” I then asked if we would kindly look it up in the system and she replied “we can’t our customer service desk is closed.” So much for customer service. Tonight I went to ShopRite in Waterbury looking for the same. After looking everywhere I thought it might be I stopped a well dressed and groomed employee who appeared to be a manager and asked him about the spice. Not only did he walk me to two locations in search of it he then googled it to see what the item looked like and then took me upfront and looked it up in his system to see if they had it in stock. That to me is excellent Customer Service as he happily went out of his way, unlike the girl at S&S who was reading fake news with a bothered look on her face, to see if he could help me find exactly what I was looking for. Thank you John you’re doing a great job and I appreciate and applaud your efforts and work ethic. Reading other reviews why is it people only post a review when they are selfishly impatient, or unhappy over the stupidest stuff not worth even getting upset about? This store is great! The employees are great! The service is great! Question: For all those that wrote a bad review or complaint, how many positive ones have you posted when you have received excellent service? I bet the answer is none. Mr Owner, don’t pay attention to those who only complain or are looking for “compensation” of some sort! Todays society is spoiled, rash, impatient, vane and selfish. Not worth my time.

Very kind, compassionate, and helpful workers. Shelves are always stocked when I shop in store, and the store is always clean. I love the ShopRite at home service. A Wonderful group of employees who shop for me and get the groceries ready for me to pick up. Shopping online is very easy and saves me so much time every week.

The place is clean. For a grocery store that is 500 yards from its competition to the front and less than 2 miles at the rear, there can't be any complaints about the selection. This store has a small seafood department where as the competition to the front does not. On a scale prices are about the same. Some a little more and some a little less.

The worst store EVER not only did they get 1 item wrong , they got the ENTIRE delivery wrong every item and they put my name on it. They said they would redeliver another day, then called and said they would bring it in a little bit. They never delivered it anyway. The food is goog ,people are nice, but this was an awful experience. You would think for the awful experience that they would compensate a little bit. But they didn't even do that. Not professional. I suggest you try another store maybe you will have better luck. This gives me something to consider after all these years.

Just ran in for a few things although I have used this store for weekly shopping often. I am one of those who go where the best prices are for what I need to buy. When there are sales or coupons, this store has good prices, otherwise it is comparable with other stores in the area so there is really no 'drawing' anyone to shop here. It is a hit or miss with meats, I had some really nice roasts and I had some fatty, tough ones. I do like their fresh veggies and fruits. They don't leave them there to rot. They always look good but wish they had a larger department. (I couldn't find shallots and the horseradish roots were slim pickings.) Other than that, they do carry the same things most stores carry and the store has always been clean when I was there. So my advise is to always check the flyer or app. Often times it is worth the trip especially when the fruits and veggies are on sale.

I have been doing most of my grocery shopping at ShopRite of Waterbury. The prices are very reasonable and the produce is always fresh and much to choose from. The fish dept. has been good to me. Always fresh. The meats dept. is reasonable priced and of descent quality. I have no complaints. The staff are always friendly and ready to help if need be. Even the cashiers are friendly. I also use their pharmacy and they are very helpful to answer all my questions with kindness. Usually very clean too. I am very happy to continue my shopping there.

Selection of different produce is nice, prices are pretty average/lower compared to the local competitors. Overall the customer service at this place is great, I am a frequent shopper and so far the staff is a friendly and knowledgeable about their store. Self checkout is almost seamless.

Always good prices was it said about the corned beef coupon not being good till the 11th and they didn't have enough people working lines are all the way down the aisle otherwise a wonderful place to shop very helpful employees especially the meat department sorry to see them close you've been there for a long time was my first job

Love this shop rite. Always clean, and no weird robot stalking people through the store! Affordable, fresh produce. Try bowl and basket brand, it really is just like name brands like barilla, Ragu and many others.

I won't order from shoprite ever again. First time placing a delivery. Half of the items weren't delivered and later found out they were out of stock.. rude customer service team from the store to online. This is not how you treat people.

Loved it. Sorry to those who is a stop n shop fan, i once was. But shoprite is the place to be. Beautiful setting, well organized, prices were so reasonable and affordable. The self check out was my favorite part. The whole experience was amazing. Definitely going back soon.

I like that they have more Italian items than other grocery stores. Also, they have different kinds of specialty breads with cheese in them & if they are a day old they mark them down, as well as other bakery items 1/2 price. I find more things I need here than other grocery stores.

Always good deals. They should find a way to honor the parking 4 online buyers picking up as other people always park in the only 2 assigned spots. Like a printable w d no. Order n time slot to pick the item that may increase people ability to respect and not park in a spot someone else paid to have that privilege

I understand we’re in a pandemic. But if you offer ShopRite from home pickup I would expect it to be better. How is it every time I order half my order is “out of stock”. I don’t order crazy things. How are youGoing to tell me you Don’t have tomatoes or lettuce or celery? It’s a little ridiculous. The reason I don’t go in the store is because I have a baby and don’t want to bring him in. If it’s such a big problem for these people to do their jobs then don’t offer the service. And I accept substitutions so it’s not because that brand was out of stock. If your Going to charge a service fee. Then at least offer the service well.

Their customer service is horrible! I placed an order online last week and wanted to use EBT for the total among and debit for the delivery fee only. Online wasn't showing my EBT card being processed at all even tho I put it in. Only my debit card showed for the total amount. I called the store immediately to try and get someone to help me for 2 days only to be put on hold constantly with no help. On the second night, an employee said she would leave a note for the girl who would be proccesing the online order payments in the morning. I also asked her to have her call me as well because I was having so much trouble getting anyone on the phone when I call. So now its the day my order is to be delivered. No, call at all. I call around 1 and finally get the person doing the orders only to be told that my debit card was charged for the full amount which is over $200, leaving me with only $3 in my account! I'm furious because that was my entire check that I had just deposited the night before and set up my bills to be paid by the 9th. Now due to poor customer service and a lazy staff, I have to wait for a refund, its a holiday weekend to make matters worse. My bills are due and my baby needs pampers. I have no clue how long a refund will take so I attempted to call the store again(9/8/20). Again, the staff just picked up and put me back on hold without even saying a word 4 times! Then I get answered by the assistant manager from the deli!!! They transferred me to the deli when I called customer service in the first place. That guy seemed annoyed and told me I need to call back to customer service even tho I asked if he could just transfer me. All that only for my phone to then run out of minutes. A whole months worth of minutes gone due to waiting on hold with no resolve from this incompetent and rude staff. So now I have no way to even call anywhere else I need to and I'm stuck with no money because of this. It's sad and pathetic that ppl can't value their jobs or customers. Ignoring a customer's calls for help before things got to this point have put me and my baby in an unnecessary hardship not knowing when there will be any resolve. I stopped shopping there last year because there always an inconvenience, but a year later gave it another shot because I had no choice and this is what I get. Oh, and to top it all off, half my order wasn't even available but they couldn't even call and tell me that. They claim I should've gotten a text. I DIDN'T!!! So now I have mostly just baby food and need to find a way to another store on foot to finish shopping. This store really needs to be retrained on every level and teach the importance of quality customer service and professionalism. I hope they learn that laziness can ruin someone's life while they're over there twirling their thumbs.

3 days late delivered called several times finally found my payment never posted claimed they called my number that I haven't had in 5 years and they were unable to change it you're better off going to the food shelter for your food. Update: 5 boxes of cereal and no milk only partial order after several days of having to fill it and hold it find a local homeless person they might have some food for you

Well I've always loved ShopRite I'm handicapped. And they're always helpful they always help me with packing my bags even though it's the the virus there are only allowed to do certain things you got to have your own bags but other than that they're very helpful they help me because I cannot walk my Walker and walk the carriage at the same time so I put my Walker into the carriage and then I have a basket cart also so they let me put that behind the courtesy desk then they help me get it they have bring it up to me they do everything for me that I need to be done when I ask them they don't give me a problem at all they just go ahead and do it they help me walk it out do I wait for a medical vehicle to come pick me up. This is Anna Waterbury ShopRite. So I'm happy very happy with performance and when I need help there right there no questions asked if they don't give me a hard time about anyting and I always get the help I need if it's the carriage or help me load my stuff into my car push it outside for me. I hope you guys can understand what I'm saying because I'm talking this out and sometimes the words don't come out right. But I always go shopping at ShopRite I do love ShopRite and the prices are pretty decent and I find things very easily in the store sometimes I can't find things I asked in there right there helping me.

The worst shopping experience ever. Nothing is on the shelves- all around the store one thing is found in 20 places and all the flavors are never at the same spot. We went there for instacarting and they did not let us checkout with alcohol, while customer is approved to be 21- sent id as well+ The shopper is over 21 too and they just wouldn’t accept the id. a whole joke. Save yourself a trip and go to any other store.

Best overall prices, although I'm a little bit miffed that the flier coupons are not able to get used for online shopping.This being said it's so much easier to buy online and either pickup in store or have it delivered. Their ShopRite from Home Services are the best of any other Supermarket that I've tried

We have been shopping at ShopRite for many years. We choose to shop there because ShopRite usually has what we are looking for. The reasonable pricing, coupons and the specials keep us coming back. The cashiers are courteous and ring up the orders very fast. The added bonus is the baggers.
