This place is a joke. Received 3 confirmation emails for baskets I ordered to be picked up. Get there, they're not there. I press the little button for service and wait 10 minutes for someone to come out and tell me my order was cancelled.....without any email saying it was cancelled. This person tells me I was refunded. I never received an email saying it was cancelled and I don't see anything indicating I was refunded any money. Meanwhile, I see the exact basket I ordered out on the floor to purchase. Makes zero sense.

I had a package delivered through UPS access point. I spent 40 mins there last night, box could not be found. The person that signed for it to their knowledge they signed for it but don’t look at names on packages. Was told all they do is sign && UPS will place the package in their room (maybe it was taken back on their truck). Tried calling the store this morning, calls just hang up. The explanation for not knowing where package is just doesn't make sense.

The woman who greeted us at the door was lovely. She was really kind to my 2 year old and was very sweet. Also a very kind man helped me and my mum to the car as we didn't realize you had to pay for bags and couldn't take the cart outside

Believe it or not they don't have calendars anymore. Good staff though. They try to be helpful as possible. It's one of those stores where management has no control of ordering inventory. Items are sent from a main warehouse that doesn't care what each store has.

I'd always loved this store, but when I went there recently, the pre-cut wood items were so flimsy I was afraid they'd instantly warp if I tried to paint them.Decorated items were beautiful, but on a fixed income, paying bills, etc, there just wasn't enough left to spare.The store is beautiful, the associates are lovely people. It's just too much for my wallet.I don't think they'll accept dust and moths as payment. LOL

One of my fave stores in Waterbury! There are always good deals to be found, the staff keep the store clean and organized, and offer help wherever possible.So happy that we still have Michael's, seeing as to now I have to drive to Southington for Joann's or Bristol for Hobby Lobby!

I'm entirely done shopping here. Just purchased an item and asked the cashier if I could exchange it for the same item in a different color... get told yes to grab the original from my vehicle... I grab it walk in and the security guard that's there has the audacity to tell me she "already bought it" That it's for her brothers car wash and I can't take it. If that's the case... why is it sitting right next to the cash register AND why did the cashier know nothing about it and say I can exchange it?? Absolutely disgusting. Yes, employees are allowed to buy stuff... BUT PUT IT IN YOUR PERSONAL VEHICLE OR IN THE BACK NOT WHERE CUSTOMERS CAN STILL PURCHASE IT... If she even actually bought it... I'm really disgusted by the way she spoke to me and acted. Absolutely disgusting. & no I will not return. I have half a mind to return the items I just bought and be done with this place. Absolutely disgusting.

To be honest, we got caught in slow moving traffic on the highway and needed facilities. We were met at the door by a friendly security guard who escorted us to the restrooms and unlocked them.We proceeded to buy some yarn on clearance which may be knitted into blanket or something.The store was clean and well stocked, same as the Michaels in our local area.

Always excellent customer service when I go there. Had a few questions about a new product that I wanted to try and the manager helped answer them and helped guide me to the products I would need to go with it. They were even patient when it came down to doing the price matching. It takes some time to do that because they have to verify the price and check it and then price match and for all the items I had to match, they were patient with me. From my experience, I would recommend visiting this store!

I love Michael's! So much to choose from, great deals, classes for kids and adults and very friendly staff. The clearance aisle has a lot of goodies.They have a lot of little craft kits for boys & girls, great to do when babysitting your grandchildren all summer.

My favorite store, to find all my craft & kids craft needs. The reason for 4 stars & not 5. I asked 2 different employees were something was, both employees said, they didn't know where to find it. (It was felt material) instead of trying to help find it with me. They both just walked away!!

This micheals in particular has gotten better but id say if you are looking for anything special other then " big box store" craft projects to go somewhere else. Other then seasonal items they rarely have anything new in stock here. The Halloween section seems to keep dwindling year after year. They used to have amazing displays for their Halloween & Xmas villages now its just a bunch of randomly placed houses not even plugged in and even worse more then half the items they display they either dont have or won't sell the display.

This is the place you go for everything crafts/art/custom framing/even some things for wedding receptions etc. My best experience was with the framing department. They really were professional and went above and beyond and did a great job on my frame. The prices in the store are a bit high but they usually have some sort of coupon online. The front register staff is okay but not super enthusiastic. I understand that not everyone wants to be ringing a register. But we all have jobs to do and I'm a believer in doing the best you can to make a customer feel welcome in your store. That is why I give it 4 stars not 5.

I take my daughter, who's 7 there and we both love it. There's so many different creative products. Excellent for starting your own hobby. Plus everything is neat and organized.

Awful customer service. The employees were rude and on their phones. They refused to show us where items were and just pointed across the store and said "over there". The store associates at the cash registers were delightful however.

Always welcoming, neat and tidy, and aisles labeled clearly. This store almost always has what I need in stock. I gave only 3 stars because the employees are always around to help but don't always have the answers you need. I always go shopping here with a list and a good idea of what I want and need but sometimes an "expert" is still needed. In my honest opinion, based on my experiences in THIS particular store, a lot of the employees don't seem to have the necessary training and/or skills to be working in an arts and crafts store.

A lot of arts and crafts stuff and often a resource when you need things for arts and crafts or strange things for projects or hobbies. Some stuff they have way too much of and there are some surprising omissions. Would be cool if they supported hobbies more.

I can understand that because of Covid-19 the usual process has changed. But what I don't understand is, how customer service is such a big failure. I place an order for curbside pickup, and despite getting emails saying the order is being processed I still wait two hours later. Normally I wouldn't I mind, but after calling the store for an idea of how long I could be waiting for I get the " just wait for the completion email". Really?... That's not very useful. So I decided to call the company to figure out how it usually takes but guess what? Don't bother calling the customer service line because it'll tell you to go online to their chat system. Only problem is it doesn't work! I spent 15 min just "connecting to an agent". Point of this review is if you expect to get anything done in a timely manner don't bother coming to this store or rely on the company for answers.

A sign near the charms declared a 50% off the second item I chose accordingly. At the completion of the sale the cost was over my expected amount and I questioned it. He entertained the idea of me retrieving the sign. I was right about the discount, but the sale was over. He honored the sale price, allowed me to use a coupon too! Crafting during COVID-19 a way cope!

I have visited this Michael's many times and it never has the craft items I'm looking for! Their craft departments are so small that you can't find much of anything and the staff is always rude and unhelpful!

Extremely disappointed with this Michael’s and staff members! I came in today to complete a last minute project for my business in hope to buy a large shadow box that was 50% off online. I kindly asked if they could honor the same sale in store since it was past 4 pm and online orders were no longer available today. The cashier clerk told me no and suggested I wait until tomorrow to order it online and come back to this same Michael’s again to pick it up. I shop at this Michael’s numerous times a month for my small business and I will NOT be returning. Manager should have communicated this message as possibly made an exception, not the cashier!
