I always stop in, order then shop in store when I’m in the area. I find fantastic foods I’m not familiar with. Everything is made to order. It’s not fast food and doesn’t taste like fast food. It’s the real thing and consistently keeps me coming back. The young lady behind the counter was terrific, informative and helpful. If I lived within 40 miles of Dunya, I’d shop there once a week.

Mashallah! I stopped for a quick bite and ordered their chicken shawarma. This has been one of the best chicken shawarmas I have had.Everything was fresh and the owners and staff are great people. They were very attentive and executed the order in a timely fashion.There is an abundance of halal treats, refreshments and exotic foods. I would highly recommend this market/restaurant to anyone driving through Waterbury or locally.Thank you! 😄

Came here first time, very delicious halal food , tried the Iraqi Lamb Kebab platter, packed in flavor, the falafel is amazing here , nice n moist not dry- overall amazing place, glad to discover this hidden gem/ the pathway looks closed due to construction but it is open! There is a small seating area, very much worth it! Would return!

Very nice people working there and the food was great and fast. They have a small area to sit with maybe 10 tables of two that can be pushed together or apart. I will definitely be coming back and not only getting pre made for but checking out the cool different groceries they sell.

Unexpectedly great tasting food ! (And presentation)We reached here on a friend's suggestion coz we love Mediterranean cuisine. Initially, my thought was that this would be just another Asian grocery store with a corner deli - but they left me surprised! Amazing tasting food - do try the Iranian kebab - and felafel with the tahini sauce. The dining tables are much separated from the rest of the store so it was nice dining just like a restaurant. We also found some rare Turkish delicacies in the grocery section later. Good service, good taste. Not a fine dining restaurant but awesome food! Highly recommended if you love shawarma - ask for the "DUNYA special sauce"

So so good! A store to shop or a restaurant to eat. Has some good food . 50 dollars for 3 people plus a few extra items. Would totally recommend.

Do NOT waist your time getting off of the highway to eat here! I’m a vegan and my husband found this place I really thought it was gonna be good but I was so wrong. First the guy behind the counter ignored every question I asked but would only respond to my husband. Very unprofessional and rude and seemed discriminatory. Second there were no prices on the menu board. And third we got a small order and it came out to be almost 40$!! The food is not horrible but it’s your standard wraps and salads. The beef shawarma was over cooked, I personally wouldn’t waist my time going back. They need to understand quality over quantity! It’s good for business!

Hi everyone, please read the reviews, they’re unfortunately correct. This place really isn’t up to basic standards anymore. It was good a few years ago, not so much anymore. There was a family there while I was waiting, asking the man to change the oil because it was very old and dirty. You could see it on their fries & smell it in the air. So now to my encounter: The young gentleman that took my order doesn’t speak or understand English very well. He was too distracted on his phone. I tried multiple times to explain to him what I’d like to order. I asked what the prices were and he’d just stare at me. There’s no prices on the menu. It really seemed he just made them up because he kept changing them when I’d ask again. So I got my order taken after having to just go with what he said. Finally, after a half hour I received my chicken wrap and falafels. I wish I had taken a picture of them. The falafels were burnt and the lettuce in the wrap was wilted and dark. Not fresh and crunchy. Another example of him making up high prices is: As I waited for my food, I found an item that was 1.99$, the one I brought to the counter didn’t have a sticker, so he tried to charge me 4.99$. I took him to where the others were on the shelf & showed him the 1.99$ sticker. It’s just not a place I’ll be going back to. I like the Mamoun’s Falafel Restaurant in New Haven. It’s worth the little ride.

Random stop at this halal spot turned out to be a great one. Delicious fresh dishes, kind people, great value. Fries with tahini and spices, who knew? Would definitely go out of our way to return.

Delicious fresh food, friendly service and authentic atmosphere. Presentation was beautiful also! I think these were the best grape leaves I've ever had. I will definitely be returning here when I'm traveling through the area!

Look at their 7 or 8$ lb fresh almonds , omg same every year , they are scammers and hide their scale so you can’t see exactly weight . Be aware my muslims don’t go there anymore .

Ordered the mix meat place so I could get a taste of everything. Really good, moist, skewers. The shawarma bites were a little old and dry for the lamb. Stick with chicken on the shawarma. Other than that, food was really good. I highly recommend this place

Had a wonderful culinary experience with my sis and bro-in-law. They had just picked me up at the airport and I'm so glad we stopped by here! We had some wonderful hummus, falafel wrap, tabouli,rice,eggplant, and chicken shish. Such a colorful full of culture store/restaurant! The hookahs are really cool to look at.

The staff were nice. I didn't care for the food; it was kind of bland. I think it cost too much for the little amount of food they give. I would not be going back there.
