As an animal owner all my life, I would like to express how Amazing Dr. Belair and her staff are! I decided after a not so pleasant experience with a different location, to search for a new place to care for my family (my pups). I found Pachaug animal hospital and I'm so glad I did! The facility is super clean, the staff are always helpful and smiling. My dogs are never uneasy when walking in and that itself speaks volumes!

Dr. Belair and her staff are friendly and helpful, and always work around my pet's needs in a way that makes us very comfortable. They are always very sweet and funny, and willing to work around my vet-anxious dog's quirks with no judgement.

Love this place! Everyone is super friendly and prices is very reasonable!! Our doctor is great! It’s much more affordable than other animal hospitals. My dogs always enjoy coming here and they have a huge waiting room with lots of artwork.

Unbelievable establishment, outrageously disrespect employees and unreasonable charging. Horrible customer service treatment never take your animals here highly wouldn't recommend. They overprice everything every month is different amounts of charges

Latest update - 4/2023The whole practice appears to have had a much needed face lift with rooms now easier to clean and welcoming to 2 and 4 legged customers alike.Service remains of a very high standard with the friendlyness of a visit to grandma's!Still a fan! Thanks for taking great care of our beloved pets!Update of a 3 year old review.I have visited the office several times since Dr Belair took over the operation. Much as we loved and trusted Dr Gay - Dr Belair and team have really done a great job in the challenging time since.I have been pre covid, socially distanced and fully distant. Each time it has been fast, friendly, and professional. Most recently it was fully distant - with only the passing of the leash. But Dr Belair took the time to call and give a run down of the shots given. The rest of the team i have dealt with have been delightful!I also really appreciate seeing the many Facebook posts, pics, and updates. The place has a great personality!5 stars. Don't be looking for Dr Gay. We loved him for years (my family were among his very first customers in town) but give this new team to show you their love and spirit!............................................................................Fantastic level of care and professionalism. Have never had or heard of any complaints. Dr Gay really is a genuine carer.

If I could give this place a zero star review, trust me I would. I took my dog here for years. But I changed his vet when they wouldn’t refund me for a flea collar that almost killed my dog. Then they never called me to inform me that my dog TESTED POSITIVE FOR LYME DISEASE.!if you care at all about your fur children DO NOT take them here.

If your pet has a problem that is marginally more complicated than say, a urinary tract infection, expect to get wishy-washy answers, shortly followed by bad advice. If you fail to follow the bad advice, because maybe you think there's a better way, expect to be blamed for that on a subsequent visit. If you do follow the bad advice, you'll likely to be sent to an area emergency vet who will charge you a kidney and your firstborn over an extensive process that will take months, give you false hope, and exhaust your finances. When you return to Pachaug, having followed the bad advice, and now having a pet that likely needs to be euthanized, be prepared to be blamed for following the bad advice you got there- to the letter. Then be prepared to watch your best furry friend get mutilated as the good doctor fails- over and over- to "find a vein"- and eventually be told to leave the room because the only real recourse at this point to give your beloved pet a restful end is going to be quite ugly. Be prepared afterwards, as your grief recedes, to compare notes with others who've had similar experiences with animals that had to eventually be euthanized by this doctor to describe having the precise experience you did ("can't find a vein" over and over) despite that pet arriving at that juncture under completely different circumstances.I don't say any of this lightly. My wife and I have had many pets over many years, and we've loved them all dearly. Never in all those years have I had such difficulty with any Veterinarian over getting them to care, to participate in the ongoing health of our pets, and you know, not compound the guilt we already feel over arriving at the most unfortunate set of circumstances with even more guilt- seemingly related to their own lack of competence, personal problems, or whatever else is getting in the way there. The staff here, I want to be clear, do their best. They even stepped in several times when the doctor's compete lack of bedside manner was on full display at the worst possible moments. They clearly have put caring for animals first, and that is the way it should be done.But- in being clear- I must also say: this is not a place I would take a pet by choice, and certainly not if it really mattered. I would go almost anywhere else first, and if I were in a place where I was relying on doctor Belair to advise me what is best for my pet, I'd seek a second opinion- at the very least.

Dr. Belair is all about the money. She has treated her employees like trash. I've heard her talk down to people on the phone, clients, employees, basically anyone anytime she wants. I was fired for no reason after being there for longer than she has even been a doctor, after being told I was gonna have a performance review on 1/9/22. As soon as I walked in the building she approached me with the office manager and said I was no longer employed there, handed me my dog's records and said I would be escorted out by the office manager. When I asked what I did, she said...."You're just not the direction I want to go moving forward with this company.".Two weeks later I asked for all my pets records and she wouldn't let them send them to me.

If your looking for a friendly staff, a wonderful vet and affordable prices welp here ya go. I have been bringing my 2 dogs and 1 mis behaved cat to Dr.Belair for a while now. She is the absolute, hands down, most caring and understanding vet around. One of my dogs is nervous, timid and not a great dog at the vet. Dr.Belair has gone above and beyond my expectations. She has tried many tricks and tactics to make my dog feel comfortable there. We make a lot of trips there just to ease his comfort with her and the staff. The staff is very accommodating to my dogs needs and what makes him comfortable. I always recommend Dr.Belair and her team , her rates are affordable, her caring and knowledge cant be beat. Do yourself a favor, visit Dr.Belair, you will thank me later.

DR. Gay retired, he was my veterinarian for 20 plus year’s.The new veterinarian said she never met Dr Gay, and seemed to not speak highly of him. Yes, she said she never met him, odd to say the least.I was very put off by this, comment about Dr Gay, he was a awesome veterinarian and always informative, realistic, and gave plenty of options regarding your pets care. The new veterinarian not so much, it’s either she is not very well educated or just very pompous.I really don’t think she will last in the Voluntown community. She really has some growing up to do and also should be working under other experienced veterinarians, that can mentor her, and she is currently not.I do not trust my dog in her care and will be seeking another veterinarian.

I love Pachaug Animal Hospital and all of their staff! They have been amazing with our foster dogs, our rescue dogs, and our cats. Extremely knowledgeable and patient with even our toughest pets! When it came time to say goodbye to one of our beloved family members, they took care of every detail and had all the arrangements taken care of so we didn't have to worry about anything when that time came.

Dr Gay has been our vet for 14 years since we need to Voluntown. He had taken great care of multiple cats and dogs from beginning... to end. There is very low turnover of the staff, which speaks volumes for what type of place it is to work. He is also a strong supporter of the community

If you are looking for a kind and compassionate vet, go somewhere else. Patchaug Animal has suffered since losing original owner, Dr. Gay. Not available for our pets two times during an emergency. Sent us somewhere else.

I was going to him for a yeast problem for my pug. After spending over 150.00 for products that didn’t do a thing. Took her to foster vet in Rhode Island did a 250.00 blood test changed dog food no problem
