Truly love this place. These grounds are what have made me fall in love with camping again. I’ve been consistently coming here for the past few weeks with some friends and have never encountered ANY issues with the staff or grounds. They have always been nothing but helpful. Nate (the owner) is amazing and talking to him feels like speaking with an old friend. The bathrooms are consistently seen being cleaned by the staff and the sites are always cleanly and large enough to live in. Other campers are friendly and it’s easy to make friends all around. Pool is clean and a nice place to socialize. Will continue coming here for years to follow.

I recently stayed at this campground for several days as a guest of a friend. I'm from Oregon and this campground is amazing....no campground in Oregon comes close to comparing to this place. The sites are roomy and private. The campground is very clean and well maintained. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool area was a huge hit with my son. The location is perfect....close to stores and only 15 minutes from the freeway. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Best campground I've ever stayed at.

We stayed as a family of three (two adults, one child) and had a wonderful 9 days. I used to camp here as a kid, and this was my first time being back in 25 years. I can tell they invested a lot of time, money, and effort in maintaining it and growing it, while also keeping the forest element. The forest element is what I love most here. We mostly keep to ourselves (we’re gone most days exploring) and don’t take advantage of the activities, but we went on many walks throughout the campground morning and evening and people were very friendly and welcoming. I intend on returning next year! This is a family owned and operated campground that has been in the same family for multiple generations, and you can see the pride of ownership.

From the moment of registering our vehicle, in the quaint camp store, I was already hooked! The grounds are clean and well maintained, and it is definitely a place the owner is proud of. The store has just the essentials for camp, so shop beforehand. From the store, we were escorted to our site by one of the young employees. While getting things set up, we were greeted by another young employee dropping off our firewood. He gave me some tips on things not to miss, which would be happening that weekend. Later, we went to another portion of the grounds to play some games. There was a very significant bonfire and a really great band playing. The next morning, there was breakfast being served in that same location. We spent nearly the entire day at the pools. That's right, there are two pools! The pools are clear and clean, large too. Extremely well maintained restrooms and showers nearby, wherever your site is also! To my pleasant surprise, I also found laundry facilities here!Yeah... it's great! I really enjoyed staying at Nature's Campsites. If you have a bad time here, you did it to yourself. There's everything you need plus super friendly staff and owners. Definitely, there is no shortage of fun to be had either.

I’ve been here from open to close M-Sun for 2 seasons now and I couldn’t recommend this place more. The owner, Nate, is an absolute great guy. I’ve had very few “issues” during my stay here and Nate and his staff here are fantastic at promptly getting things taken care of. Be kind and respectful to the staff and of everyone else here and they will show it to you in return. Zero complains!Rooms: I can’t even count how many sites they have here, it is quite a bit! It’s a good walk going all around the campground.Nearby activities: Right next to pachaug state forest, hopeville, green falls, many kayaking spots, swimming, fishing, hiking, you name it…Also not too far from Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods casinos if you want to go out for some nightlife and gambling. Although the campground here is great at hosting events for kids and adults every weekend that they post on there Facebook page in advance.Safety: Voluntown is a very small, quiet, and friendly area with next to no safety concerns. All the time I’ve been here I have never had any issues with any of the regulars that camp here nor the “part timers” it’s truly a place ALL are welcome to come, enjoy, relax, and have fun with family, friends, or even alone.Food & drinks: They have a food truck that comes here quite often on the weekends as well as a little breakfast venue that also comes in the mornings from time to time. Both are reasonably priced and the food truck is especially delicious! Can’t go wrong! No alcohol is sold here but they do sell water and soda in the main office.

Mackenzie and Nathan were extremely helpful in accommodating my large group at the group campsite. They went out of their way to help me check in guests who all came in at different times. Our group site was in close proximity to the bathroom, which was the nicest/cleanest bathroom I've ever seen at a campground. The seasonal campers were incredibly welcoming to me and my friends and we all had a great time at the karaoke function. The basketball court/rim could use some attention. Campsite was very large and clean with picnic tables provided. We arrived after dark and were led to exactly where our site was located. We will definitely return here.

I've been coming here since I was about 10. 20 years later and I bring my own kids now. Friendly staff, clean facilities, fun activities and the community is usually spot on. There is also paintball on site, 2 pools, 2 playgrounds, pavilion, and field.Rooms: Tents, RVs, cabins and a train cart are all sleeping options

Being new to the whole camping scene the staff and other campers were so friendly and helpful. The grounds were clean and refreshing! Bathrooms constantly clean and gorgeous. So much to do, getting to all the things was almost impossible. Other camp grounds we visit will have a hard time living up to Natures quality for sure!

By far the best campground I have ever been a part of. I have 4 children ages range from 10-18 and they all have the most fun! Best arts and crafts, cleanest pools and bath houses, food truck, DJ or bands, themed weekends, I can go on and on!! All of the people are very friendly between the campers and the staff! I definitely recommend this place!!

Great campground. Seasonals are friendly. They added transient sites this year which are spacious and shady. Really nice playground for kids. Highly recommend! (*note- "rooms" rating equals site rating)Nearby activities: Town Pizza right down the street on Rt 138. Pizza is really good. They also serve meals and have a bar.Across the street from restaurant is an Ace Harware for propane refills and anything else you may need.Wal-Mart is about 5 miles away. Straight shot down Rt.138 near Rt 395.

I've been coming here since I was a child & have always loved coming here. Now I get to share this experience with my child! The service here is always exceptional & the people who run it are amazing & always understanding. Always plenty of room in the sites & it's the perfect outdoor getaway. There's always something new when I come back keep up the great work can't wait to come back again. Also want to add that I was foolish enough to drain my car battery & the owner went above & behind & got my car battery back up charged in no time. So don't be afraid to ask the camp family for a little help they will be more than glad to help!

My fiance, our 2 children and our German Shepherd just stayed Thursday-Sunday (our first time here). WE ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! The owner AND staff are fantastic. The grounds were spotless and expertly maintained. The pool was beautiful and refreshing. We definitely recommend this camp ground to all. We already booked another weekend for the end of August. Thank you Nate!

This campground was the best campground my family and I have ever been to. All the employees there are just amazing. It has a very friendly atmosphere. The campground has so much activities for the family to do. They have a place where you can play a game of paintballing which my son had a blast doing. They have 2 pools that are very clean and well maintained just like the whole campsite. They also had live music and bingo. My family and I will definitely be returning to this campground for sure. Such an amazing campground.

This was an amazing campground all the workers are kind. Nature's campsite has beautiful sites to camp on. They have so much to do there with your family from paintball to live music and activities. Must I add the clean pools. They take really good care of the camp they have fire wood right at the shop when you first come in. I will definitely be coming back here again.

Still here camping and the staff and owner are very pleasant. If you like fishing they have a river and 2 ponds to fish. They also have canoes to rent. So far I am enjoying it here. The kids have 2 swimming pools that they can swim in. One of the pools goes to 4ft and the other one goes to 5ft. They have 2 playgrounds and a basketball court as well.

Just ended a successful camping trip at Nature’s Campsites this weekend and I couldn’t be happier with my experience! I used to camp here every year with my family for as long as I can remember and was really looking forward to going back. I am happy to say that my experience back was wonderful! I was impressed at how nice the bathrooms are now as they have been renovated. The wood delivery was very nice and honestly you can’t complain about the price because you get it delivered to your campsite! This place is very special to me and I look forward to visiting again a couple more times this summer.

We just camped our first weekend here and it was a wonderful experience. The original site we booked wasn't up and running yet for the season (I think that was the reason) and we were offered several alternatives upon arrival. We ended up at site 301 and will probably choose that site everytime we come from now on because it was so spacious and in a great location, though I didn't see any sites that we would have been unhappy with if we had camped there. There are many wooded sites so even if you have neighbors, you have privacy. Every employee that helped us was very friendly and helpful, and all amenities were spotless. The firewood delivery was very helpful. An excellent choice for any family or anyone looking for a welcoming, clean, impeccably-maintained campground. We are actually canceling a reservation at another local campground that we have for September so we can be here for their anniversary weekend. Highly recommend!

My boyfriend and I had a fabulous time tent camping at Nature's Campsites in Voluntown despite some rain! We loved the secluded wooded site that we chose and we really appreciated that they allowed us a late check out in order to let our tent dry a bit before packing up and to enjoy some sunshine 🌞 I would definitely recommend this spot to couples or families, especially during the week if you like a less busy more relaxed atmosphere! Couldn't be happier with the hospitality and friendliness of the staff who were always willing to help or chat!

The site was clean and the bathroom well equipped. However, the experience was tainted by a large party that extended late into the night. One man in particular was yelling and swearing until 3am. A few other guests yelled at him to be quiet but no one felt safe approaching him because he was clearly drunk and belligerent. There was no response by Natures campsite in the night or in the morning when we shared our experience. I suspect this was not a one time thing given that the party was at a site where the group had been staying for a while. If Nature's campsite is going to post quiet hours and claim to be family friendly, they need up ensure that people aren't behaving this way.

This was our fourth year going there. Our kids were riding bikes, swimming, they had endless hours of fun. Nathan the owner, went above and beyond trying to accommodate our group (family). Every staff interaction we had was extremely friendly and helpful. Kendall the lady who dropped the wood and ice to our site always had a smile on her face and made sure bathrooms were clean all the time. Even with the COVID-19 and having only one hour of pool time we had an amazing time! Highly recommended! Can’t wait to go back again!

New management seems more interested in money / profit then the comfort and satisfaction of ALL its visitors. My family has visited this campsite several times and the outcomes were great. Our last visit, during the 4th of July, was a terrible experience. All visitors are not treated equally: some are allowed to enjoy their entertainment past quite hours and other are shamed for the same behavior. We surveyed our neighbors which expressed a similar opinion. The facilities are fair, firewood delivered and exchanged due to weather, pool was in decent shape, and the staff was pleasant apart from Nathan. The site has plenty of "Karens" so lower your expectations.

The campgrounds itself I would give 4 1/2 stars. The employees I would give 3 stars. My only real complaint about the grounds is the "outhouse" in the tent camping area, it smelled awful and was out of order half the time. The real bathroom was a long walk or short drive. My other complaints about the grounds were due to a miscommunication about the location and layout of the sites our group booked. I just thought it could have been handled better by the owner. There were a couple other situations with staff that left a poor impression. All in all we were 6 families camping together and we made some great memories that will last forever,no regrets!

This was our first time camping out as a family. It was a great experience. The staff waa friendly & answered all of our questions. There were events planned throughout the day for the kiddos. They really enjoyed the dance party. The bathrooms look new, they were also very clean. We stayed at group site 1 which was fairly close to the bathroom/showers, pools & entrance. Some of the other campers were nice others were standoffish and to themselves. The only downside was the price of the wood. You're not allowed to bring outside wood (which we understand) but we paid $58.00 for a cart full of wood that we were told should last the whole weekend. (We only made one meal). It didn't so we had to pay $14.00 for more wood for another night. The amount of wood we received the first night didn't look any different from the amount we received the second night. Nevertheless we let it be and continued to have a great time.

By far the best and most friendly campground I’ve ever been to. So many activities for adults and children. Crafts every weekend, Cornhole tournaments, horseshoes, bocce, swimming pool, playgrounds, kickball, food trucks, bingo and the list continues. The staff are SUPER friendly and always helpful. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Keep up the great work natures the people really love it.

We are part time campers and travel from April to Otober. We stay at alot of campgrounds and always like to give an honest review. This is a nice rustic campground. Sites are large, it's was super quiet when we stayed, pool was decent, nice tiny camp store. Site was full hook up and had a picnic table and very large firepit.Only issue was the dog fee. Again, we stay at alot of campgrounds and rarely we come across this "pet fee". I would absolutely understand the fee, IF the campground had a dog park to maintain and had pet stations with bags provided. None of this was available at this campground. So, we asked what the pet fee was for and were told everyone charges that. We told them this is actually not true, even in CT. The two girls began to tell us that they stay at campgrounds and everyone charges this and that is why they do. I fall back on what my grandfather used to say... If everyone jumped over a cliff would you.$5 per pet, per night for what? Seems like a frivolous charge with no reason as to why. Again, I would understand it if there was actually a good reason but there isn't. We would absolutely consider staying here again but the pet fee makes it less desirable for us to come back. It is a policy I think the campground should rethink unless they do have a dog park installed or amenities such as dog poop stations and bags to accommodate those with the pets. I'd be happy to pay the fee then without batting a eye. Or if they wanted to clean up after my pets during our stay I would also not worry about the fee.It just doesn't make sense. To end in a positive note, they had a fun bingo game there during the weekend which we enjoyed.Safe travels everyone.

Great campground to take your family to. We stayed at a full hook up camper site. The site was clean when we got there, even the fire pit was clean. Firewood available, and delivered. We stayed close to the playground and pool which was great for our children. Due to a power event, many sites around us, including ours, lost power. The staff allowed us to relocate based on available sites, and was willing to help us relocate at 8pm. Great staff, well kept camp ground. Will absolutely put this on our list of places to return.
