I've never been a fan of petco,Petco. The layout always feels so dark and stuffy. This location was no different. But they do carry a large variety of pet supplies. I like getting the freeze dried snacks for my cat. They carry a couple brands. Plant of parking as its it's a large shopping center. YouU can bring your dog inside. Fairly clean. I was in and out in decent time.

*YES, THE BABY DRAGON IS DEAD* I never leave bad reviews unless someplace truly deserves it. I’m saddened to say that I go to this petco because it is the ONLY pet store anywhere near me… when I’m in a pinch for dog food or crickets, I have no choice. But I’ll be trying even harder to avoid it now.. I always take notice of how poorly their reptiles are treated .. 65 degree temps for the bearded dragons when it should be 100, etc… but today was exceptionally terrible. I took a look at the dragons just to realize that two adults were dying and a baby was dead.. literally looked like it was mid-crawl and just gave up. The conditions are gross.. and I alerted a staff member who didn’t even seem shocked. And by the time I left, the baby still wasn’t removed and the other babies were panicking. I’m really…really… sad and disgusted.

I use this Petco all the time, recently I seen they were in a frenzy trying to clean their fish tanks didn't know why.. about two weeks later I decided to buy some fish to add to my tank. Then a day or so go by the fish I bought from them were dead and they spread epistylis to my entire tank and took out 75 percent of my fish.. do better Petco do better... Nevermind how they keep their reptiles (especially the leopard geckos and baby beardies) this location in specific has horrible animal husbandry from fish to reptiles. Steer clear of buying pets from them go to slither and swim or buy online.

The girls did not want to service my dog we were 15 min late due to the construction in the petco lot and she told us she really shouldn’t service my dog and then she asked that we step out of the room only to call us back in and tell us my baby was growling mind you there was tons of people in the store and not even a bark from my dog. She was rude and very lazy, I would not recommend at all.

Staff are very friendly, they also answer any questions you may have. I visit this place frequently and I wouldn't change locations even if the drive is a little far for me.

Petco in Stratford, CT has fantastic employees that are able to give you the best information on reptiles, amphibians, birds, dogs, cats, rodents & tropical fish. They also give fantastic information on any product for your family pet. Come visit Petco in Stratford, CT.

Second time I found food with best if used by date 2020. Be careful when buying the food for your pets at this location (Stratford). This time they blame the warehouse just like the first time.Check in the store to avoid the inconvenience of having to come back and avoid that your pet get sick for eating expired food.

Always understaffed, clean conditions are poor, some of them fish and other lizards were dead in the store, no one seemed to care. Groomers are awful; unprofessional & inexperienced, my dog got uneven haircut.

FYI - hours on Google are wrong. They’ve had temporary hours for almost a year, but it’s not on their automated messages and customer service will just keep ringing. They put the hours on the window but there’s no dates of when they will resume regular hours or a reason. One time we came to pick up an online order shortly after their “new hours”, the staff was in there and wouldn’t even open the door. Thought I’d post this to save someone else a headache.

I bought 2 gold fish $8.99 each on Sunday 8/13/2023. When I got home from work on Monday 8/14/2023 one of the gold fish had died. For any kind of refund do we need to bring back the dead fish wasn’t sure how that worked.

Terrible, several fish dead in tanksAnimals looked sad, lethargic, or were kept in small spacesCame in looking for help only to find the majority of the workers in a circle talking with other people who looked like friends, when we asked for help they all disappeared and told us that this wasn’t their area and left with out any other direction.It took asking three different people for help wish fish only to be told the one person who is in the fish section would be back in 5 minutes, alright no problem.We wait and buy a beta fish and two snailsOnly for the Beta fish to die in a week.So we returned and got a new oneThe fish then died in three days.When we bought these fish there seemed to be nothing wrong with them, and then they would suddenly die with a huge discoloration.I wish I could say the snails survive but they both died in a week.Water was filtered, tested and ready for new residents :(

My puppy gets his bath & minor grooming done here. He always leaves looking dapper & smelling nice. The groomer is nice as are the sales associates in the store. Always a nice experience going to this store.

I love Petco, the person that waited on was so patient and polite, and such a wide variety to choose from. the cashier was very patient with me, I'm 72 years old speed is not with me anymore and when I got it wrong he got it right for me and I really appreciate that. I love PETCO!

Took my dog that was several matted and explained the situation before hand. He was being neglected in his previous home. He desperately needed help. She side eyed him from the moment she saw him. And then proceeded to grab him from behind, not giving him a chance to smell her. Or get to know him a little. He felt afraid and reacted. I was there for one minute and she said nope we can’t work with him. That’s it. Said he will not be taken any petco ever again. My dog has never reacted that way to anyone. Took him to a private groomer and she got everything off in two hrs. Said he was the most gentle dog ever. So guess THIS petco store will never receive business from me again. I’ve do not like to leave negative reviews. This is my first ever. I believe this situation granted the review. Bridgeport store took care of his vaccines and they were amazing with him

Went to this Petco after going to the one in Milford. I was looking at saltwater fish, And other stock to place in my tank. I would like to say that at this visit The aquatic personnel have Seems to have taken well care of the tanks. Most likely the best I've ever seen At any petc.
