Would never get my dogs groomed here again! First of all— they both had some matting and the groomers corresponded through text asking for permission to shave their butts and underbellies— fine. They came back completely shaved, to the point where I can see patchy skin and toes! Second- this place is highway robbery. They told us on the phone that the dogs require flu vaccines and fecal tests and we asked for quotes and the woman gave a rough estimate but omitted all of the doctor fees, the lab fee, they even required an “exam” by their vet as it is allegedly protocol with the vaccine despite having just had their annual physicals at their own vet. A $200 grooming turned into $600!! We asked if they can adjust some of the bill for the information that was never relayed to us- nope. To say I’m irate is an understatement. My poor dogs will be wearing sweaters in the house now.

Spot on is fantastic. It’s truly embraces the meaning of Family Own business, and you can feel such a great vibe throughout their staff and the facilities.Tito, our mini schnauzer loves his home away from home.We have boarded him long term and short term.We also use the day care and it’s great to have the camera and see how he gets along with the other class mates.Their grooming service is also great. They really know what works for Tito and leave him looking and smelling very handsome.Spot on also had an in house dog training. Try it out, she is Awesome.I tried a few places before Spot on and every time I was very disappointed.Tito has been going to Spot on for over 1.5 years and I wanted to write a review at the six month mark, but I also wanted to see consistency of the great experiences we were having. So after a year and a half, here I’am sharing the great service, great staff and a great place we trust to leave our furry son.

I can not believe what a wonderful experience I had there with my dog Romeo. The staff was superb and I actually so polite and professional. It was a great pleasure and my dog was very comfortable with them and I’m very happy my little guy will be ok.Christina sat with us and Romeo was made to feel right at home. I have found my forever vet!!

Spot On is super incredible! I’ve brought my family dog here for years and now my own. Dr. Andrew is so informative and truly takes his time to care for you and your pup! He’s very personal and I can tell how much he cares. Front desk staff is also AMAZING! Highly, highly recommend.

Update 11/01/23:The fact that you guys love and care for the dogs and cats as your own is a big plus. My pup Asa absolutely loves you guys and so did Rayla (she’s back with her owner). From the bottom of my heart I just want to thank you for showing Rayla so much love on her last day. I know she’ll miss you guys. Hopefully she’ll be back soon! Also thank you to the staff for your kind words while I was on the verge of busting out crying 😅-You guys have my heart 🏻Honestly you guys are the best. I came here a few months ago with my senior dog who passed away shortly a few days after Christmas and you guys were so loving and understanding. I saw how you guys treated him with such love. Which is why I made the choice to switch all my pets over from their original vet to you guys. You guys are the absolute best ❤️

Great spot for ALL your pet needs. We love them for boarding our little guy as well as for our vet needs. We also used their grooming a couple of times which is great and our Bobby came out smelling heavenly. They really got above and beyond a love your pets during vet visits or while they are staying there.

The absolute best!!! Spot on has been a home away from home for our little baby Mac for years! Their level of attention, proximity and amazing vet practice make us feel so comfortable and confident leaving our baby with them. Also their parties are fun! They really really do care about the doggos!

Great experience today with Dr Chapnick, paid attention to my concerns and also open to working with me on different treatment options. Felt very confident in the direction that we are going to get my dog healthy and happy. The staff was very friendly and helpful and I could tell that my dog was very loved by them. Great experience today :-)

We recently started coming here, and it’s been nothing but an awesome experience. Everyone is friendly. It’s easy to communicate because they also have a text option. I highly recommend bringing your pup friends here.

TERRIBLE! DO NOT GO HERE! We brought in our puppy for an initial check up and vaccine appointment. An hour later, he was vomiting uncontrollably and his face and eyes were extremely swollen from an allergic reaction. We brought him back, and after putting him on an IV and treating him with antihistamines, the vet technician told us we should have opted to give our dog benadryl before the vaccines. This was NOT communicated to us by the vet. When the vet came back into the room, we mentioned this to him, and he said that he's new and at his old practice they never administered benadryl, which is why he didn't recommend it to us. It was disturbing that the vet wasn't trained in Spot On's practices and that there was such a serious discrepancy, and as a result our dog was extremely ill.We then asked to speak with the director of the hospital, but numerous employees claimed she was in a meeting and was too busy, even though we were waiting there for over 2 hours while our dog was being treated. Finally we spoke with a Spot On employee who submitted our claim to the vaccine company for reimbursement. She assured us that we would be reimbursed for the vaccines and the allergic reaction treatment.Over the course of more than a month, we called repeatedly to find out about the status of our reimbursement and requesting to speak with the director, who never returned our calls. When we finally received our reimbursement check 6 weeks later (only because we kept calling) it covered the treatment but not the vaccines themselves (that caused the reaction in the first place)! Several phone calls later, repeating our story, we were unequivocally denied reimbursement. After experiencing such a traumatic situation with our new puppy, all we needed was for Spot On to apologize and to communicate with us in a timely and respectful manner. Instead, they ignored our calls, handed off our requests to countless low-level employees, and put the blame on US for our dog’s reaction. THEY failed to standardize practices and communicate that to us. We as parents rely on vets to give us information, to communicate how best to treat our beloved pets—THEY are supposed to be the experts! The vets at Spot On are not only negligent, they are NOT knowledgable. Outside of the vaccine incident, we called the vet about our puppy’s routine parasite diagnosis and the vet couldn’t remember what he had previously prescribed and gave us information that conflicted with his initial advice. The people here take no responsibility and we spent cumulative HOURS on hold only to get insufficient information over the phone. If you love your pet, DO NOT GO TO SPOT ON. All they care about is money, and the only thing they are good at is evading and deflecting.

Koda had an amazing training session with Janet! When it was time for Koda to see the vet I felt very anxious because I was not allowed in back room with her and have had previous bad experiences with this elsewhere.. however they brought her out very happy and the front desk even gave her a toy :)

We happened to come across Spot On Veterinary Hospital & Hotelin a moment of need (nothing serious). We were going away for Labor Day weekend and needed a place to board our cat Frida (she's VERY VERY sensitive about noises and her surroundings). When we showed up, they gave us a tour of the facility, and showed us where Frida would be staying. They have gentle music playing in the background for the cats which canceled out any noise from the dogs, it was a serene and tranquil multi-tiered cat condo with 3 levels and a window to the outdoors.Spot On Veterinary Hospital & Hotel offers a text-to-chat feature that allows you direct access to someone, and they sent us a photo of Frida so we could see how calm and relaxed she was. When we picked her up for the first time EVER she was calm, cool, and totally relaxed. The real test was when we got her home she acted as if nothing had ever happened. We now brought our puppy Bentley here multiple times for all his shots and one minor emergency. The doctors are caring, and compassionate (to both the owner and the animals). The on-site technology they have here surpasses anything in Stamford and that means almost anything can be diagnosed and treated in-house without needing to go anywhere else (they don't have an on-site MRI but they do have a CT Scan)The staff, what can I say about the staff, the front desk staff are AMAZING! They remember your dog's name and they treat our animals with so much love and tenderness. Bentley (now 8 months old) is cared for like he was their own pet and he's never once had a traumatic experience here and that is no small part to the team they have working at Spot On Veterinary Hospital & Hotel. The space is immaculately clean, there is always someone cleaning the reception area, wiping down the sofas, and countertops, and mopping the floors. They have a complementary beverage station with free coffee (good coffee too) bottled water and a fridge with an assortment of other beverages.I have never had a single surprise when it comes to billing, or the options available prior to treatment. Everything is laid out in black and white on a tablet (if you leave they will send you emails) and they require a signature on your treatment plan before they proceed every item on the treatment plan is priced out and they always give you options 1,2 or 3 (3 being the most expensive) and will explain the pros and cons to you until you are comfortable and understand everything.Anyone who knows me knows that I read reviews and I always start with the bad ones first (and I read them ALL) after numerous visits to see the vet, and numerous hotel stays I couldn't even try to suggest anything they could improve on.This place is SPECIAL and if you want your furry friends to receive the best care available in Stamford for people who LOVE ANIMALS look no further, as long and I live in the area, I will never take my pets anywhere else.

A picture is worth a thousand words!!!This is where I found my two senior cockatiels today at Spot On Veterinary Hospital & Hotel! Housed in the cleaning room where they wash pets who have “accidents”!A utility room with cleaning solutions, mops and brooms, no ventilation and a closed door!I was told they had only been in there for 10 minutes!???Staff was rude and told me I might have to wait over an hour to talk with someone, the supervisor was busy on the phone, and the owners were unavailable to speak with me for at least a week, they are on vacation. One woman told me she had “heard enough, you are just repeating the same things you have already said”! Guess she didn’t understand my frustration or how upset I was.I boarded my pets there for the connected vet care, hoping they would know how to properly care for birds - any vet would know that birds cannot be in a room with cleaning solutions ( unhealthy fumes and odors) and dampness!I thought my cockatiels would be in one of the suites or rooms as advertised on their web site, that is where their cage was originally set up when I left them in Spot On’s care a week ago, ( I set the cage up myself)! Unreal to think my pets were then moved and kept in a cleaning utility room for any length of time!!!! I did not bring my pets to Spot On to be housed in a cleaning, utility room!

Erica was outstanding grooming my 17 1/2 year old Havanese! She went above and beyond, as he has eyesight and hearing problems. Definitely highly recommend. Chase at the front desk was cordial, patient and informative as well. 👍👍👍

You wrote a review for Spot On Veterinary Hospital & Hotel 22 hours ago5.0 star rating 6/14/2018I can't say enough wonderful things about Spot On Hotel and the staff! I was planning my dog Fiona's 1st birthday party and checked out Spot On Hotel. At my first visit everyone was so welcoming and pleasant. The tour of the facility was not rushed, the suites and play areas were immaculate and they answered every question knowledgeably. I booked Fiona's party and was going crazy dog mom overboard with decorations, a caricature artist and guests, Sue the manager was never frazzled, but always super helpful and supported my ideas. The day of the party we set up with the help of the staff who were beyond accommodating! They escorted guests up to the party, supervised to make sure the pups played nicely and mingled with guests. We had an amazing party that friends are still talking about!!We plan to board our 2 pups Fiona & Felix with Spot On when we travel.Thank you to Sue and team for making this one unforgetable party!

Best vet I’ve ever been to. Well staffed and everyone was very helpful. The doctor takes time to talk to you, explain everything, takes videos of before/after treatment. A really incredible service.

We’ve had several issues with Spot On’s Veterinary Clinic. For one, the prices are outrageous. It was over $800 for a routine annual visit for a cat that ended up having no issues. I’ve never seen anything like that in my life. The biggest issue was that they gave the wrong medication for my cat. They put a label for methimazole (thyroid med) on a mirtazapine (antidepressant) box. When I called to report the error I was told that “sometimes medications have multiple names”. Fortunately I am a pharmacist so knew that wasn’t the case here. I was then told they would call me back— which they never did. I specifically asked to speak to Dr. Larson and was never followed-up with. So I showed up to get a replacement and one single girl apologized for the issue. No one else. And this was a major med error. Upon further review I noticed that no veterinarian checks the medications for accuracy before they’re given to pets/owners. I even noticed that most of their medication labels don’t have an expiration date which is also unsafe. The last straw was my husband being offered Prosecco during my dog’s most recent appointment. Like seems nice but really just a sign that my last $800 appointment funds Prosecco rather than care for animals who need it. We will be switching!Update! After this review Spot On still owed us one vaccine for our pup to complete a series. A customer service specialist (who never contacted me before this review) reached out and told us they wouldn’t do it unless we took the review down. Beware! If you have feedback they will hold it against your pet!I also discovered since this review that even when my cat’s incorrect medication was replaced— they gave us a medication that had expired 3 months prior. Yikes.

I would give 0 stars if that were an option. DR PICKERSTEIN HAS NO INTEGRITY AND ONLY WANTS YOUR MONEY. DO NOT GO TO THIS VET. They do not have your pets best interest in mind. THEY ARE SCAMMERS AND ONLY WANT YOUR MONEY!!! These people should be ashamed of themselves.

This review is regarding the puppy training academy and working with Janet Willhite. Janet is an incredible asset and a true expert in the dog training field. Experts do not come by very often. Her wealth of knowledge and decades of experience shows through in her guidance and deep understanding of how dogs think, communicate, and learn. Upon bringing our new puppy home, we researched a variety of trainers. We were so happy to find and get to work with Janet! Working with her has proved to be the best foundation we could have ever imagined! She has not only trained our puppy but takes the time to educate us, answer our questions and help us navigate the many stages of puppyhood. She gives homework- do it, you won't regret it. Working with Janet Willhite will set you and your dog up for success for years to come. Her approach makes well behaved, obedient, happy dogs!!

Staff is very friendly, respectful, knowledgeable. Made my dog and I feel welcome and cared for. However, I will say they need to do a better job of clearly communicating the issuance of late charges for daycare / boarding. For example, a reservation email will list that the reservation lasts until 7pm on the day of pick-up, but the contract says a "late pick-up fee" is charged after 1pm. Clarity is needed, and needs to be communicated to the customers.

I love Spot On...they are pricey but worth it. They provide excellent vet care, daycare and boarding for my Frenchie. They are very responsive via text/email and provide a lot of reassurance and communication during stressful times like surgery or first time boarding. i'm super happy I found them and refer other pet parents to them all the time!

Pet lovers are always hesitant to leave their pets with a boarding facility and I was one of them. Spot on has put my mind at ease! The staff is friendly, and accommodating in every way. While I was away I sent a text message to ask how my cat was doing and the staff responded within the hour with details. I was very appreciative. When I picked my cat up he looked great, well groomed and healthy. Very thankful and relieving to have found. Spot on!

Such a beautiful, welcoming and clean facility to send your pet to for boarding or daycare. They took great care of my beagle puppy Shasta. I am already making plans for her to stay here when we are away later this summer. So happy I found this place.

Dr. Putter was so professional and took time with us educating us about our new puppy. He was with us for over an hour. Because Dr. Potter came to our home for the visit, our dog was calm, and stress free. Great experience!!! Can’t wait to see Dr. putter again. And his staff was very friendly and professional as well.
