I already visited two hardware stores right before I went to Welden Hardware that had poor quality/ selection and extremely weak customer service. I was immediately greeted by Matt when I entered. He was able to answer every single question I asked and was a pleasure to speak with. He assisted me with a new chainsaw with oil and fuel and registered it for me. He also demonstrated the operation for me. He directed me to the hole saw and plumbing pieces I needed. He also cut a custom length part for me. I was in and out the door in about ten minutes flat. Even though Welden Hardware is further than at least half a dozen other hardware stores from my home, I will be driving straight there for future projects. I have been a carpenter for over 30 years. Matt provided the best experience I have ever had at any hardware store, ever. Amazing job.

I was given instructions to pick up specific hardware for a mailbox. I showed the gentleman in the store a photo of what needed to be fixed. He suggested fasteners, different from what my MIL initially wanted and his suggestion helped! Very knowledgeable and nice people, and well equipped store. I was in and out of the store in 5 mins or less.

Welden markets itself as "your hometown hardware store" and they really and truly are. Great selection and service and they never hesitate to answer a question, provide some advice, and do what they can to get your household needs taken care of. They're not a huge store, but somehow they always seem to have the thing you need on their shelves. Definitely one of those places that makes Simsbury, Simsbury.

I've had several interactions with the staff at Welden Hardware and found them all to be extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. I had them put a screen together for me for a window, and it was a flawless interaction from initial contact to finished product. Always visit your local hardware store before putting up with big box stores!

If im being honest. This place is one of the best and most welcoming businesses I’ve been in. And to those comments you may see in here about “rude customer service” I say its just straight bogus! They are willing to go the extra step to help in any way. I’ve been there multiple times for family projects and not once have I not found what I was looking for... better yet! If I couldn’t find what I need they instantly helped me get a amazing substitute for what I was looking for. Thank you Weldens

I had ordered for shelving units on Amazon. When they arrived some of the couplings had been bent in shipment. I brought them over to Welden’s. They were able to straighten the couplings and connect the hardware properly. I am so impressed that they took time to fix a problem, and at a minimal labor fee. I recently moved into Bloomfield and Welden’s will become my hardware store of choice! Great service!!

I cannot tell you how many projects I've done at my home and I always start at Welden. Knowledgeable and friendly, the staff is always helpful. We've purchased a Toro snow blower and a Weber grill and many other tools and supplies. Service is top notch!

Sub-par customer service. I dropped off an appliance for repair. I received a call from the manufacturer stating that the store called them regarding the item. I was told (by the manufacturer) to return the item. Since I did not know if the item was still being worked on by the store, I waited to see if they would call me saying the item was ready for pick up. I had to call the store just to be told that I should have known that the item was ready for pick up after the manufacturer called me. I was thinking that I would get a call FROM THE STORE and not the manufacturer. I will NOT be returning. That is a sign of BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

Service was good; they had what i needed and the prices were on par with other regular hardware stores. But, in this time of a rampant deadly virus where the one thing that we can do to prevent spread is to wear a mask, no one on the staff wore a mask. “Makes it hard to breathe” the man who helped me said.A mask doesn’t protect the wearer from getting infected so much as protecting everyone else in case the wearer is unknowingly infected. When you say you “care about your customers” that should mean more than just whether they need a new drill bit. If you care about the people you serve, wear a mask and proudly tell people that you wear it for them.I won’t say that I will never shop there again. But when a local business decides to do what is not in the best public interest, I will opt to find a business that actually does care about the well-being of their customers first.

All of you locals must be on drugs because their prices are literally 3-4 times as much as other stores. I’d gladly pay a “little” extra to support a small business but serious do you locals have any clue what the real world is like? 4x4x8 from Home Depot - $7.78. Welden Hardware - $24!!!!. Who on earth would ever live here and/or go to these places! You’re all nuts. Locals and store owners alike. I’d rather keep the extra $17 in my pocket.
