Fun fact: Stop and Shop (in Rhode Island) was my first job as a teenager; it's come a long way since then.They now offer employee discount and a higher starting wage. This particular S&S is really new and high-tech looking. They have better self scan systems and handheld self scanners. I recommend using the self scanners to save on time; just make sure you have a stop and shop card. The self scan kioks were a little finicky but once you're used to it, it runs smoothly; they have security in place and alerts the employees of any issues. The employees at the self checkouts were very helpful. They still have the S&S card, you can easily sign up at the service desk or online, to get sale items. If you don't have a card, just ask the employee to scan one for you.The service provided by the other employees there on our recent trip was good; deli and seafood counters specifically. The aisles were organized and fully stocked; the prices were average to above average (it's no Aldi). My kids were very entertained by the robot roaming around! (And so were we) We surely didn't have that back in the early 2000's; we've come a long way with technology. Parking was plentiful and when we went (Friday evening) it was quiet. This has become my new favorite Stop and Shop!

The Simsbury Stop & Shop has a MAJOR issue with severe leakage from the roof and ceiling. There are MANY missing, stained, sagging, damaged, moldy, and leaking ceiling panels across the entire back side of the store, especially near the milk section. This has been ongoing since early last summer, NOTHING has been fixed at all. Last August, the previous store manager (Mr Angel Cruz) told me that corporate was having them wait until the leaks were fixed before replacing the ceiling tiles, unfortunately he was transferred to another store very shortly after and since then nothing has changed. There are wires dangling out of the ceiling, buckets collecting water, there is visible black mold on multiple ceiling tiles as well. I’ve been coming here on and off since 2018, and I’ve never seen it this bad. At this point, there is most likely severe water damage in the building along with mold since it’s been like this for many months now. It is absolutely unacceptable to allow a major issue to go on for such a long period of time with no improvements. I’m not sure who the current store manager is, but it is very obvious maintenance and store cleanliness are no longer priorities. This is a MAJOR health and safety issue and needs to be fixed ASAP!!!

Forgive me for being blunt, but I CAN'T BELIEVE you all can be SO STUPID as to GET RID OF THE FRESHLY BAKED BAGELS!! One of THE BIGGEST REASONS I had been SHOPPING in your store WAS BECAUSE YOU HAD THEM!! NOW YOU ARE GOING TO THE PREPACKAGED BAKERY BAGELS?!?!?! You REALLY need to rethink this move and bring back the freshly baked ones!! THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!!

The floral department staff are so nice & helpful! Needed a specific plant for a dear friend. Other local shops didn't have what I wanted, so finally I checked at Stop & Shop. They went above and beyond to find exactly what I needed and made it even prettier with a holiday pot and other decor! My friend was thrilled!

Store has gone SO far downhill. The entire backend of the store is missing ceiling tiles and the ones remaining are heavily stained from flooding. It's not uncommon to catch a strong odor back there. Dairy section frequently has mold sitting at the bottom of the racks. When they aren't moldy, they smell so strongly of bleach that it will make your eyes sting. Probably only gets cleaned every other month. Things often run out of stock and take forever to get replenished. Feels like nearly all of the carts are beat up and clanking. Checkout lines are almost always swamped and self-checkout is constantly giving errors and needing assistance. Can't believe a store this rundown is even able to operate in Simsbury.

The workers in the front end barely have a pulse. The entire store is molded, ceilings tiles look like they will drop at any moment. It is unsanitary and hazardous here. I drive the extra five minutes to Big Y.

Came in today to cash a check they said that they didn’t cash a check and I said that it was OK. I said they use to when I worked here but that perfectly okay. (Was not being negative at all) As I walked away the manager said not in 22 years rudely….waited till I walked away to speak. I’m shocked and disgusted by a manager nicks behavior. Never go to this stop and shop! If your a minority YOU WILL BE TREATED DIFFERENTLY AND OFFENSIVELY. Didn’t think this still happened in 2023. But Nick proved me wrong….and when I walked back to ask what he said he was Red! Yeah speak with respect and not harshly to your customers! As an old employee I learned a lot of customer service skills here as a teenagers and clearly in 22 years he hasn’t learned a thing! Never going back!

I would like to commend the African American man who was working in the deli department. He was friendly, professional, and he made sure that my two deli meats, and one deli cheese order were sliced to PERFECTION!Best service I've ever had.It was my first time in the Simsbury store.Such a beautiful location, and the store was so clean, and appealing to the eye!Keep up the good work!

Good store. Recently redone (summer 2018). AMAZING! They have milk (and eggs) at the FRONT of the store! Lots of self scan points, and hand scanners so you can scan and bag as you go. But for some reason, self scan ends at 10 PM. What's up with that? That's prime shopping time for crowd avoiders. I can pretty much always find anything I need here.-Edit: Quit shopping here. I moved and there is no hand scan available at either Torrington store. Switched to Big Y. The self checkout made me crazy at S&S, had to get help multiple times every checkout, it weighs every item and god help you if you don't put it down in the time frame it wants, or if you move your bag... what's the point of self-checkout? Big Y is very smooth checkout, rarely an issue. Big Y bakery is fantastic, S&S was always disappointing at best. Only think S&S has over it is a better floral department.

Y"all need to invest in better scanning equipment and software at the self-checkout. Way too sensitive, and having to call a store employee for help multiple times is not fun. We weren't the only ones having issues.We'll be take a Stop n Shop hiatus. There are two Big Y Stores nearby that provide better service.

When you need to run in to grab 1 item & know exactly what you want/where it's located in the store, but the doors are locked when the store is open for another 10 minutes. It would take me all of 2-3 minutes to grab what I need & checkout. I can understand wanting to close & leave on time as someone who has worked in retail myself, but it's unacceptable to lock the entrances before 10:00pm. Please do better. I will be shopping elsewhere so as not to waste my time driving here.

I’m still in shock at how rudely I was treated by the deli counter today. I asked for sliced cheese shaved thin and the woman taking my order walked away from me while I was talking and could very easily be heard making fun of what I asked for? I get it, people have bad days and I always give everyone the benefit of the doubt. However when she returned from her rant and I tried to clear up what I was asking for, she continued talking about me, over me, as if I wasn’t there (although she kept eye contact with me!?). So long Stop &Shop, I can do without altercation from team members in front of my children.

Manager implied I was attempting to scam the store. A month ago I purchased block cheese from Simsbury Stop and Shop. A few days later and before opening the package mold was growing on the cheese. I brought it back and got a refund. No big deal. Last week I purchased more cheese and again found mold before opening the package. I called Simsbury Stop and Shop and spoke with a nice manager who asked me to let him know when I was in the store returning the item. I was concerned that there was a pattern of bad cheese and wanted to bring it to his attention. Later that day I went to store and asked for this gentleman. He was gone for the day and another manager met me. The first thing he says to me was that the store gave me a gift card last week?? In all of my years shopping at this store I do not believe I have ever received a gift card or asked for one. He clearly was confronting me about his notion that I was somehow gaming the store or not being honest. I told him that was incorrect. He then asked me if I purchased the package of cheese at Stop and Shop which I said yes. His next statement was "then why does it have a Big Y label"? This was an innocent mistake on my part, probably because a few weeks before I did have bad cheese from this store. I found this question to be very passive aggressive. He acted as if he had caught me in a lie. I had made an error and was embarrassed but that does not change the fact that this man accused me of something (before knowing the cheese was from Big Y). He was very nasty to me from beginning to end. I'm going to have a hard time shopping in this store after that experience.

Store wasn't crowded and that was good, moving around was easy. Most of the items I had on the list I got but they didn't have organic celery, which is usual. Went to get another box of Cliff bars, not where the should have been and spoke to several associates and they couldn't tell me if they had them or knew where they were moved.....happens a lot at this store.

i'm here very often because i live only 2min away, making it very convenient for me to stop and pick things up when needed. i think overall this location is average. i've experienced some issues where i see things out of stock for extended periods of time, which i thought was due to a shortage. then, i went to the location in east granby, and realized that this one must just be understaffed. east granby had shelves fully stocked, and several cashiers. this location has large, empty gaps on the shelves where there is unstocked food and, as others mentioned, usually only one or two registers open. i have no problem with any of the staff here. there is one woman who i believe is a manager and she's always been very friendly and there's one very bubbly cashier. everyone else kind of keeps to themselves. it's a shame that they are always understocked even when the app says something should be on the shelves, but i just go to east granby if i really need something in a pinch. hope it gets better, but the way they advertise hiring starting only at minimum wage makes me question if things will actually turn around.

I am currently in the store and the lady the deli is so ridiculous. She is talking the whole time to someone in the back. Looks at me several times before she waits on me. She is complaining about something. The worst experience I have ever had.

Neighborhood grocery store that is easy and convenient for most items. However it does seem like some of their prices are higher than other stores. Also there is usually parking close to the entrance which is always a plus.

They never have anything in stock, the cashiers move at a glacial pace, and god forbid you use the scan it app on your phone (if you’re ‘randomly chosen’ to have an audit done, they can’t complete it and make you use one of their scanners to redo your order so they can then do an audit.) Don’t waste your time! Use Big Y or Shoprite which are both nearby

Newly renovated and cleaned up. They have all the regular Stop & Shop goodies, with a nice cafe/bake shop to ked in the corner by the deli. Summer sales are pretty darn good right now, and they have a robot cleaner machine. Pretty nice, if you ask me.

This grocery store has everything. Employees are very helpful. Deli is great. Bread is fresh at the bakery. Butchers will cut you a special cut upon request. Many advertised specials. Fruits and vegetables are fresh and plentiful. Always enjoy the experience!

Best Stop & Shop in area; mostly due to wonderful staff who do a great job and make shopping here a nice experience. From the sweet and smart head cashiers, to the well trained cashiers and baggers to the skilled deli, florest, meat and bakery staff and even the floor staff they are helpful ,friendly and go above and beyond to take care of their customers. I go to this store even though I have another closer to home. Recently totally remodeled.

I have shopped here for years and have ususally found what I wanted. I applaud their efforts to try to make the store as safe as possible during this epidemic. However, today, there were some people in the store not wearing masks, despite the signs telling people to wear them. I would like to see the policy enforced. It's worrisome that some people, who may be carriers are allowed to walk through the store unmasked.

I have three choices for supermarkets within the 5 mile radius of where I live. Stop & Shop is not the closest, but it's where I shop for many reasons. The biggest reason being Boars Head lunch meats. Huge difference in quality of sandwich meats. Great bakery, great prices and never a problem finding fresh meats. It's a supermarket. Anything you need for groceries, they probably have it...

Worse stop and shop I've ever been to. Encountered a worker named jane. Her attitude and lack of respect,makes me think stop and shop JUST ALLOWS workers to treat loyal, honest customers poorly. I used to believe this was a good reputable company. And I have now changed my mind about how I feel about sns in general.Any store that allows their workers to blatantly disrespect a customer, deserved to be out of business. I am outraged by what goes on in this store
