Great experience despite a 5 hour wait the first time— second time around, 6 hours in and my dog was still not groomed. Went to pick my dog up and still got charged full price for a grooming job that I could’ve potentially done myself. No courtesy discount for the inconvenience to help keep a customer, just a sorry- we only have one person in. Gotta do a bit better to help keep the customers you currently have.

My first visit to What the Pup today was genuinely exceptional! My puppy, Keelo, is a puppy mill rescue and is extremely nervous naturally! Jenna and her team went above and beyond to ensure that our visit was pleasant! The front end staff was welcoming and patient as I asked questions. Jenna was so knowledgeable and helpful in supporting me with better understanding how to support Keelo’s journey as a rescue! She even managed to walk out of the grooming area with Keelo in her arms, which is such a huge reflection on how comfortable she made him feel during this appointment! I’m very satisfied, and will absolutely be back! I highly recommend you check out What the Pup, it feels like family! I also encourage pet owners to be gracious and patient in the process of your grooming appointments. This is a small staff but they genuinely work as hard as possible to make every client happy! I love this place. Since I moved to oxford I struggled to find a reliable groomer. I stumbled upon what the pup and gave them a shot. They instantly fell in love with my dog and are always very friendly with him. Their communication skills are spot on and pricing is good for what you're getting. I'd recommend them and will continue to use them.

Jenna has been grooming my Goldens for 3 generations, we are now on our 3 puppy. There is no one I trust more to take care of my dog. She does a tremendous job every time. She is passionate and caring and her new place is gorgeous. I highly recommend her to everyone!!! Thanks Jenna you’re the best!!!!

Had my dog groomed today 11/30/ 23- his haircut is patchy and uneven- granted he's a shy dog and does get nervous on the grooming table- I can get past the cut, mostly, But sti really shoddy- uneven hair, had to trim spots myself- tail wasn't groomed down, asked to even out his haircut- doesnt look like that happened- but his ears don't look cleaned at all, I clean them regularly, but have a hard time really getting in there, hence why I have the groomers do them too. Doesn't look like they even touched them, and it's clearly noticeable just by looking at him- not even deep down. I should not have to go and clean and trim right after I pick him up after I asked for ears, nails, even out haircut, bath.I've been coming here since they moved to riverside drive, and we love Jenna- she is fantastic and has worked with my dog so much. Unfortunately, she was not there today.I can't say I'd ever return, was not impressed at all, for the $75 plus tip. Not even the regular bandana or bow tie. Receptionist was cold and acted like she could care less, and whoever the groomer was, not overly friendly either.Jenna is the only groomer worth their salt.salt there.

We have three high maintenance pups. Oscar, Indy, and Archie love getting pampered at What the Pup! Appointments are easy and availability is great. We are very satisfied and highly recommended them.

I took my puppy Rocky to the groomers for the first time, What the Pup was the best decision. They are absolutely amazing and so sweet. They made sure my little furry baby was taken care of. He came out of there wagging his tail and so happy. Along with with the cutest bow ever. I look forward bringing him here for the rest of his life.

If I could give this place 10 stars I would!! This was my first time using a groomer in general & Simons first time too. Erin blew it out of the park ! I was so nervous after reading horror stories at other places but what the pup and Erin eased my nerves so quickly. Simon looks wonderful and he was so happy when I went to pick him up. I love that this place is cage free too! We will definitely be using what the pup from here on out ❤️ Thank you guys so much!

Jenna and her caring team over at WTP care so deeply about Goldie that she can't help but turn out the cutest photos at the holidays. She gets bathed, trimmed, and cared for like no other. Definitely a spoiled pupper over at WTP 10/10 couldn't recommend enough. Great services at reasonable prices, who could want for more?

We’ve had our Australian Shepherd for two years now. We’ve had him washed at Petco, PetSmart, boarding facilities, and self washing stations, and never had him feel/smell as clean as What The Pup can get him. He always comes home feeling like a cloud, smells like cologne for maybe two weeks and even after that he never smells like..a dog lol. Our dog can be a lot to handle, but consistency is key and Erin lets us know he’s getting better and better. They send text reminders and you can message back if you need to change anything. Plus my dog always comes home with a cute bow.

Price-expensive. Receptionist has an attitude and Groomer very smug.In Fairfield CT. I pay $45 for an excellent job. I paid $70 at “What the Pup” and it was not a good job. My dog did not even get a haircut, they just shaved him with clippers, really short and left the hair on his paws scraggly and long. Should have been trimmed and neat. They did not clip or trim the fur between the pads so I had to bring Gunner home and trim his feet, pads, and long loose hairs that the clipper missed on his body. What a shoddy job. I don’t even think they used conditioner. He didn’t smell good, didn’t feel conditioned, and not shiny. Never will I go there again.

Finding what the pup was the best choice my girlfriend and I ever made! The owner has such a great personality, our dog always has a amazing time. Haircuts are always spot on and I can’t think of anywhere I’d rather bring my dog! I would rate it more than 5 stars!

What the Pup is a dog oriented place they really care for your dog when they bathe and groom your pet. My dog actually loves coming here , my dog is blind and has been through a lot being a rescue pet. They take great care of your pet and call you just before they are almost finished with your pet, so you can go pick your pet up this is my dog's 4 time and he loves it thank you what the pup.

When we moved to CT, we went to multiple groomers, but no one wowed us or made me feel comfortable with our pup. Then, there was What the Pup. Jenna listened to me and asked questions, she was so welcoming, and when I left I felt good. I picked Parker up and she did such an amazing job! He was perfect! There’s so much love and wanting to ensure you are happy. They take such good care of the dogs and the passion really shines through, as well as being such kind, wonderful people! Highly recommend!

The staff at What the Pup are great. Our dog has never liked being groomed and many other groomers we used in the past would just shave her down and rush her out the door. Jenna has and is willing to take her time with our dog and give her the best haircut and experience. We love the work Jenna does and recommend her to anyone we know that is looking for a groomer!

We have been bringing our doodle Finn to What the Pup for almost 2 years now. Absolutely hands down the only place we trust him with. Jenna is fantastic and not only does he come home looking good but he is happy. Where we used to go (big chain we won't mention)he would come home shaking and clearly traumatized. Finn lives the What the Pup staff and we love the quality of his groom.

I cannot praise WTP enough. We are first time costumers so I will describe our experience from beginning to end.Arrival: my boisterous Bernese Mountain Dog (male, almost 2 years old) and I walk in to find a poodle and his owner being checked in. The lady checking in them in quickly goes to the poodle to keep him calm then quickly takes him to that back. She comes back to tell me he is a very nervous dog and she wanted to keep him feeling safe. I LOVE that she knows her costumers personalities and needs. She greeted my Ozzy, petted him and made him feel welcomed. She then proceeded to tell me her experience with another BMD that goes there. I LOVE that she also knows the personality of BMD’s.She noted that it may be a while for him since he is 100 lbs. We cleared the day for this.They texted me when he was ready for pick up.Pick up: my boy looked SO handsome! And he did not want to leave. After he greeted me he went straight to the back room asking to go back in. Jenna explained what she did to his hair and why.Price: super fairI’m SOOOO happy with this place! We’re going back every year! Thank you guys for loving my baby!

This is the best place to take your dogs for grooming. I have 2 basset hounds Sally and Kenny Rogers they always do a great job with my dogs and they treat the dogs like their own!!! The staff is always very friendly and great customer service!!! I trust them with my dogs which is very important me.

I LOVE What the Pup. They do a fantastic job grooming my Milo, and are always so sweet and caring with him. Milo has always been very anxious with the blow dryer, and he’s had bad experiences at other groomers before. At What the Pup they always make sure Milo is 100% comfortable, and are so kind and patient with him. Can’t recommend this place enough.

We needed our hound's nails trimmed and filed before seeing young family. It took a few days to get back to me after I left a message for them, but when they did, they told me I could come in any time without an appointment. We went to What The Pup that day and had a great experience. The staff promptly gave us attention and were great with our dog. The trimming and filing of the nails took all of 6 minutes. The quality was great and the groomer was so kind and friendly to both us and our dog. They even gave her a cute bandana to wear with her new pawdicure. We will definitely be back! Jenna and her team are the only people I trust with my severely anxiety ridden pooch. My dog always comes home looking adorable and well groomed, with none of the anxiety shakes other groomers give her. It’s her home away from home every few weeks, and everyone at WTP is lovely to work with.

I love this facility they are amazing with your fur baby, they take really great care of your dog like it’s there own and I love that…they take there time to ask you about your fur baby and what service you would like done and the best part is your fur baby gets to meet other fur dogs…my ACE definitely knows when he is going for his grooming and loves being there

We were very hesitant to take our goldendoodle anywhere because she had a bad experience with a previous groomer, but What the Pup reassured me of their experience with the breed and listened to my dogs needs and sensitivities. My baby came out happy and smiling. Great experience!! This is our place now.

read to the end.....If you want a nice, professional groomer, who knows what they are doing and taking good care of your fur baby...well, this place is NOT YOUR PLACE!!!I wanted to cry when i saw the cut my dog got and they sent home my dog with a big cut from the shaver. they don't even bother to call or let me know about the injury. A friend of mine picked up my dog and didn't notice until he was home.I'm beyond upset.

I am sorry I had to rate this place of business with one star. DO NOT BRING YOUR PET TO THIS FACILITY. After booking an appointment a month ago and qualifying that they could handle large breeds, I brought my Great Pyr here for a grooming. I also asked that my dog not be kept with other dogs as he is not always dog friendly with other large Alpha males. On drop off I noted there were about 8 dogs running loose in the small grooming area. I expressed my concern, but the owner told me not to worry about it.. they do this day in and day out. When my dog had been there for 7 hours I called to find out the status and received no answer. After waiting another half hour the owner answered the phone and told me that my dog was not near ready and they were backed up today. I was concerned at the length of time the dog was there and was told he was napping and taking a rest after his bath. When I asked her how much longer she refused to give me an answer and proceeded to get very nasty on the phone indicating that I should "just come and pick him up! He is a big dog and they are backed up today"... ummmm.. I told you he was a big dog when I made the appointment 4 weeks ago... I then waited another two hours and called back twice... no answer either time. Now it was past their closing time, my dog had been there for 10 hours when I finally got a call to pick him up. When I walked in neither person who worked there could even muster enough class to check me out, my dog was loose with a terrible uneven grooming to his hind quarters and panting uncontrollably. I asked if he had been given any water during his almost 11 hour stay and they just said "he had access"... At which point I wanted just to pay my bill and get out of there, they charged me $292!!!!!!!! I paid the bill as I had no other choice, but I will be disputing this. Upon leaving they yelled nasty comments to me. My dog could barely walk or get into the car visibly exhausted from whatever happened at this place. He then had to go to the bathroom and it was obvious that they had neglected to even take him out to pee in the 11 hours he was there. I have never experienced a dog groomer with this horrible service and I have had dogs my entire life. Please please please reconsider this overpriced, underperforming scam of a groomer. She didn't even know the common practice as to the frequency of grooming a Pyr. ... horrible
