So I started off the day making an appointment somewhere else to get my dog groomed and when I showed up there they turned me away for no reason. No big deal. I decided to come here just to see if they had any availability in the next few days. The young dude at the counter was super cool and asked if I had her with me. They took her right away and did a great job and took great care of her. My doggo and I will be regulars here from now on. 12/10

It's great to find a good groomer. Very reasonable prices and super accommodating. They treat you like family. They go above and beyond to make the experience special. Great staff who took great care of my American bully named Petey. I was very concerned a first as peteys a rescue dog who can't be around other animals and doesn't care for water at all. They were able to address my concerns with professionalism. The price was very fair and quality of work was great as he look and smells great. I highly recommend them.

I had been using a different place in Shelton and I am very glad to have found Family Pet. It's clean and well organized, prices are competitive and the staff and owner are very nice. It's easy to miss, in that little shopping center. The front is small, but it is much bigger on the inside! I also appreciated the comfortable chairs in the waiting area.

Family Pet and Grooming is absolutely excellent! My dog just needed a quick nail trim and got too scared , the technician was amazing! Everyone gave Koa encouraging cuddles and when my dog decided he didn’t want to go back there they trimmed his nails right in front. Kind patient caring and extremely professional! I trust no one else with my furry child.

Four years ago my wife and I got our first dog together. We needed a place to get him groomed. We took the chance on Family Pet and Grooming and glad we did. We have been return customers ever since. They know Titus by name and always do a good job. Their prices are very competitive as well!

They did such a great job with my girl Sassy. She came home as beautiful as I expected and happy to be there. Great place and people. My two shihtzus had a perfect grooming experience. The place is SUPER clean. You can clearly see how they love animals! I am thrilled. My new groomers. A happy customer. Lastly, the cost was within a few dollars from were I was going. Although, the difference is great. I highly recommend Family Pet and Grooming.

I didn't have grooming, went to drop off puppy for training. While we were there everyone was very pleasant and the store was very organized and clean. The staff seem to know all that entered to pick up food, treats and either pick up or drop for grooming services. I would highly recommend all aspects of this family business.

They always do a fantastic job grooming my 70 lb husky mix. I would give them extra stars if I could. My dog ran away one day, by the time I caught her she was covered in dirt, ticks and mud. I was desperate to get her groomed that day. We had never been to Family Pet and Grooming before, but after hearing my story they actually stayed open LATE to groom her. From that day forward we have been loyal customers!

Took my dog there for the first time the other day for a nail trim. I thought they did a great job, loved their shop and the staff were very nice. Skippy was happy his nail trim was so quick.

I live in NY and the very first time I had my dog groomed was in CT, at Family Pets & Grooming which was recommended by a friend. After that, I went to 2 places in NY just because I needed to find a place closer to home. Both places in NY blotched up his hair. So now I come all the way from New York to have my baby groomed here. It's worth the hour and a half drive knowing that my baby is taken care of. Everyone here is super friendly and caring, and give the best advice.

After searching for a pet groomer that would accommodate cats, I was pleased to find Family Pet & Groomer in Shelton would. Never having brought a cat to a groomer, I was a bit nervous. My cat had battled some health issues and, for a time, stopped grooming himself - the poor thing was a mess! I was put at ease instantly by the amazing staff. They went above and beyond to clean him up and make him comfortable while he was there. I was impressed with the level of care and attention my cat received, offering ideas to help me improve his over all health and endorsing the importance of a raw diet (which I strongly believe in myself). Their desire to care for each animal like their own family was truly heartwarming. I highly recommend them to anyone who values quality customer service and superior care for their pets.

It is so hard to find a cat groomer, most vets won’t do it. Finding Family Pet & Grooming was my saving Grace, literally! Our cat Gracie is a long haired Rag-doll and of course everyone at home is allergic to her but L💓VES her. She comes home looking gorgeous and my family has some relief! Hours are convenient and the staff is amazingly friendly!

They fitted us in between appointments to cut my cat's nails! It was the only free time I had and the ladies. were so good with him. His name is Tommy but should be scary cat! Thank you so much from both of us! He is under the couch hiding with shorter nails and won't be getting "stuck".This morning, Tommy and I are relaxed and happy! Thank You!

I took my three pups in at noon on a Saturday and the groomer welcomed them with open arms. They each had a bath, ear cleaning, nail trimming, and were sent home clean and happy with a cute red bandana! I highly recommend the grooming services!

I've brought my dog here a few times and had great experiences every time up until today. Not sure who the new groomer there is, but for the sake of their business, I hope they hire a friendlier one. The woman I was set to deal with was rude and not very welcoming. I left without getting my dog groomed and i dont plan on returning.

Erich and his staff are amazing... I got Trooper (GSD) at 8 weeks, he’s now 20 weeks and they all have become like family to us! Awesome all around! Trooper goes back to visit, continue his training and attends doggie day care! They rock!

I went there for the first time ever and I loved it. My dog does not like his nails to be touched and he’s a big baby when it comes to it but the staff there didn’t care and took great care of him and I was out the door 5 minutes later. Definitely going back for sure!!

I went there on 7-23-19 to get my dogs nails done. I’ve been desperately trying to get them done. The vet couldn’t even help me. This place went above and beyond and was so patient with my dog even tho she was squirming all over! lol. I drove all the way from north Branford and was more than thankful they were able to help my little girl out. I couldn’t thank you guys enough!

I just called to see if they were taking new clients and the lady who answered the phone was so nasty with a bad attitude. She asked what kind of dog I have after telling me they aren’t taking new clients and once I told her she goes “Ohhhh nooo we don’t take labradoodles either”. Unnecessary rudeness for someone who was just trying to give them business.
