A busy place with a long established reputation for quality service and reasonable prices. Controlled entry - you must call first when you arrive on premises which is a very good idea to maintain control when there are a variety of animals in the waiting room.Staff is extremely friendly and professional and answer all questions in a manner that shows their concern, care and knowledge. Highly recommend for anyone looking for quality pet care. Appointments required. Service was prompt without a long wait.The only reason I do not rate them as a 5 star is due to a lack of transparency with pricing. Told over the phone when i asked that a rabies shot for a cat was $28 which was truthful. However, they did not mention that your real cost for a rabies shot is $61 after adding in an $8 fee for needle disposal and a $25 fee for a"brief consultation W/Rabies". The consultation was so brief that I don't remember it.Added and undisclosed fees seems to have become the norm for just about every business with airlines and hotels the biggest offenders. Unfortunately, undisclosed or hidden charges have become rampant across many businesses. It's understood that prices of everything have increased a lot so it's understandable why a business won't voluntarily disclose all fees for a service or product. Nonetheless, I think it is a trend that is problematic for many people who would appreciate more transparency in pricing.

It was a sad day my senior cat had to be put down. I called when they opened in the morning they put me on hold for 7 minutes. I decided to hang up at that point. My family decided to just drive to the location. Walked right in explained our situation they accommodated got us right into a room. So we can spend our last moments together and keep Oreo as comfortable as possible. Very caring and empathetic team in our time of need. Thanks to the whole team 🙏.Rip Oreo

My cat came home injured after running away 3 weeks ago. I called them and without question they accommodated me with a follow up appointment after visiting the emergency vet. Since then they have continued to squeeze us in for bandage changes and checkups throughout the healing process. The staff and doctors are great with all our animals!

Everyone from the doctors to the technicians to reception is professional and top notch! They did an amazing job handling my dog's spay - they were patient with my questions, the recovery was quick and the incision healed beautifully. Thank you for taking such good care of us!

Took my cat Percy twice with concerns about his ears - found him outside about two months ago (so had no prior knowledge to his age or health history) and his ears had scabs that weren’t healing. First visit I was told “oh it’s allergies it’ll go away.” Took him back two weeks later after they didn’t heal and was told by the other vet “well we can try antibiotics to see if that helps” after saying that his ears weren’t healing because she originally wasn’t going to give me anything. They do not let you in the exam room which I think is ridiculous - who know if they even looked at his ears. They also told me he was 3 years old which I knew couldn’t be true - he walks like an old man. I took him to another vet this morning that lets you in the exam room - my cat is getting a biopsy done because he is suspected to have skin cancer. This vet also believes he is between 8 and 12 based on his eyes and teeth, which I find more believable. The reception staff is very nice at Ansonia-Seymour but the two vets just want to get you in and out - no regards for my concerns and I wish I didn’t waste my time and money there.

Never been to a better vet. My dog needed surgery and I trusted no one else other than Dr adam. He did everything possible even with a busy schedule. He truly cared for animals. There was no judgement, or disrespect like I've received from other vets in the past. They really do care. I've seen others complain about wait time however if you truly think about it if there are longer wait times the doctor must be amazing and he truly is. I'd rather wait longer than to go to a doctor who isn't as experienced or knowledgeable. I wouldn't recommend anywhere else. If you want a good vet who really does care to do anything and everything to help your fur baby this is the place! Couldn't be more thankful!

Don't bother with this place! My wife and I inherited our wonderful 9 year old German Shepherd when my parents passed a few years back. Unfortunately this is the Vet they used, and the customer service they offer is horrific. You should not have to dread taking your dog to a routine appointment, but at Ansonia Seymour vet, it's always the feeling I've experienced. A typical appointment has a wait time of 1 hour, and the most I've waited is 1 hour 45 minutes. Today they called me when I was 3 minutes late, and said they had to check with the doctor if they could still accept the appointment. When I arrived, the girl at the front desk told me that my appointment would need to be cut short because I was 10 min late. A combined easy 6+ hours of waiting for them, and they can't wait 10 minutes for me. I don't see why anyone deals with this place, there are other wonderful veterinary hospitals! Don't waste your life here!

Called in the morning for our cat whitey. Had an appointment within that next hour. Staff was extremely helpful and caring. Didn't need to wait long. Dr. Pooja and her awesome staff came out immediately and unfortunately it was not good news. Our cat was having Heart Failure. The Dr. placed a blanket under him and gave us the room to take as much time as we needed to say our goodbye. Anyone who says they don't care here or give bad reviews must be having a bad day. I would and will trust them with any other furry or not furry member of our family. We were blessed that particular day to come across actual caring staff. It's so hard to find those types of people now.

Incredibly friendly and attentive. I wish my human doctor’s office was so awesome. Dr. Pooja really took the time to listen to our concerns and check them out. She’s very practical with her advice which is also helpful. The rest of the staff was incredibly kind too. We moved out of the area recently but are making the long drive just to keep coming back. These guys are awesome.

I bring my German Shepard puppy here for all of her veterinary needs. The staff is always courteous and professional. The doctor is also courteous and goes out of his way to let you know exactly what he’s doing and makes sure your comfortable with it. They are also very affordable.

Everyone's so nice and helpful. I love bringing my dogs here. They are great with even my most anxious pups so I appreciate the care to try to make the visits as quick and as stress free as possible for my dogs. Vet care is expensive but I feel their prices are far more reasonable than other clinics. I don't live close but I certainly don't mind the drive for the care they provide.Sometimes you get a busy tone when you call but be patient and try again. They are a busy office but you will get through. I've been there a lot lately with my senior dogs they get very busy, props to them for staying on top of it all.

Anytime I have any issues with my cats, they’re very professional, efficient and quick. They always walk me through everything and listen to any questions I may have. I’ll always go here, because I know my cats are in good hands. Very personable, they feel like family! Highly recommend.

*editing my review*Since I last reviewed this vet they have been nothing but kind and helpful. It’s greatly appreciated and I understand a lot of places are short staffed right now and under a lot of pressure. Thanks for taking care of our kitties.Old review:Currently disappointed. We basically traumatized our cats to get them to the vet today, but my boyfriend left his wallet at home by accident. I was going to bring the wallet to him (would have taken exactly 11 minutes) but they decided to reschedule us instead because they were already behind and packing up to close. Why schedule a 5:15 appointment if you apparently close at 5?? Now we have to traumatize these poor cats again getting them back to the vet. I get my boyfriend shouldn’t have left the wallet at home, but we could have resolved that while the cats were getting their shots. Y’all didn’t have time for the appointment to begin with. And that’s a bummer.

Reviewing Seymour location; Dr. Adams - I moved to CT from CA and brought both my senior dog and new puppy to Dr. Adams. You will not get a better, more thorough vet who cares about your animal's well-being anywhere else in the country. My senior dog had an issue that several vets examined over the last couple of years in California. Dr. Adams solved his issue within one visit! When I got my puppy, she had a stomach issue that Dr. Adams solved as well. I promise you that you can't get better care for your pet than Dr. Adams. As far as prices go, this clinic is fair and competitive. This is definitely the vet for my pets!

Staff is very friendly, Dr. Pooja is very helpful, knowledgeable, and informative. Sometimes I expect paying an arm and a leg, but I find myself presently surprised to be walking out with both. I would recommend this vet to anyone who loves their pet as much as I do. Great People! Fantastic staff!

Love them! The vet is so friendly and knowledgeable. She's great with our cat Bean and my mom's cat Mini, who is Beans mom! They are fairly priced and try to save you money wherever they can. Ask the staff is so friendly and helpful
