Usually amazing experience. Sandwiches are always great, pizza is amazing, and the staff is as friendly as can be, but I recently stopped in for fried calamari, and I won't be making that mistake again. I got fried, uncut squid tubes, greasy as can be, and practically inedible from how rubbery the squid ended up being. Seafood staff need to know what dishes they are preparing for customers and how they are to be prepared.

I have no complaints! When you walk in the door, 1st thing to your right is what I refer to as "the belly-friendly" foods: organic, gluten-free, plant-based, and dairy-free. The section is a pretty good size with many options all in one spot. (I have been back a few times now.) They also have a nice selection of vegetables and cheeses. The employees are pretty friendly, which is another added bonus. It's just a nice change from the other grocery stores, in my opinion. Oh, and I cannot get enough of these chicken chips! 😋

To me nothing is more important than the customer service a business offers and I have always found the employees here are very helpful and friendly. Store is clean and as well stocked as any store can be in these times. One thing keeping me from giving 5 stars is for some reason my Big Y app with online Loyalty Card would not let me login. First time that has happened and it was frustrating. Fortunately the young man at register gladly looked me up by my phone number.

I had an interaction with a very rude manager once. I actually like BigY. Unfortunately, I don't think there has ever been a time when I felt comfortable in this supermarket. I hate to say it, but it's probably my skin tone. A few weeks ago I picked up some Nyquil because I was feeling sick. The lady by the self-checkout immediately rushed over, looked at me from head to toe and said "Why are you buying Nyquil? Are you sick???".

If you’re a person of color don’t go to self checkout or Brian and tesha will think you stealing even though they watch you like hawks … and also there was hair in my food from hot bar🤢 definitely won’t be returning

This is the first time my sister and I came to this Big Y, and I must say that some of the employees did not know where anything was in the store! My sister had a rude experience with one of the frontend employees who would not scan her "store card" to get the store discount!! I will say the store was clean and organized.

I used to think Big Y was a kid friendly place but after today's experience my mind has changed. The self checkout employee accused my 3 year of stealing a balloon because of your faulty self checkout machines. Making us feel like criminals and upsetting my daughter by grabbing it from her. Maybe fix your faulty registers or have cashiers again. Better customer service is needed if you are going to have the self checkout machine. Not the customers fault when it doesn't register what we scan. There's no scale or noise or anything. I will shop at a store that is family friendly from now on.

I like the selection of products: great to find the rare Oui coconut yogurts for instance which is wonderful when your kids have complicated allergies. It’s clean and there is a pleasant atmosphere. Cashiers are very kind. I’m not a fan to find the « fresh bake shop » breads - like the one in the picture - fully frozen (block of ice) on the shelves.

I love this store; staff is terrific; store is clean. I don't like the parking lot bottleneck, and no good area to drop off an elderly person without tangling up incoming traffic, but I'll still give 5 stars.

I have been a customer at Big Y for years. I am so disappointed in their new rearranging of almost all items in the store. You can't find anything. No one can help you out. You can go aisle to aisle and just get more frustrated. People don't have time for this maze . Manager should at least appoint a few people to help the customer find what they need. It's a zoo in that place now. I even asked someone at courtesy desk for item and they and they were not aware it had been moved.

Big Y in Rocky Hill does not have self checkout scales, their computer systems don't prompt you to place your items on the table nor is there a sign to do so. However, today just as I was about to pay, I was told to take all the items I had already scanned in my cart out of my basket, place them on the table, pay and then put them back in my basket. When I asked why, I was told because it's Big Y's policy. Shouldn't I have been told the policy that wasn't clearly displayed and then asked to follow it in the future instead of some power trip to have me perform a point task as some kind of punishment? I will not return to any Big Y in the future.

This Big Y market has a wide variety of products and foods snacks drinks and desserts that I've seen this store has got more than some of the others that I've been to.I will be going back again so I can try their hot foods we got 2 slices of pizza tonight though 1 cheese and 2 pepperoni plus I've been trying to find bagel chips in almost every store we've gone to no one has them I go into this store and my daughter finds them and there cheaper than the ones I had gotten from stop and shop. Lot's of thing's I have been looking for this store happens to have. We will be going back again for sure.

Five stars because the store is always so clean organized and fully stocked. The pizza is delicious as well as the other warm foods. Everyone is usually very very pleasant as well. Hannah in your grinder shoppe can use some of that great energy. First rude associate I’ve come across. Maybe just a bad day we all have them but it doesn’t give you the right to be rude to customers. Let’s smile more 🙃

Wow, we are being so manipulated by corporate America!! Prices were outrageous and I’m working for Big Y bagging my stuff (no savings passed on to the consumer - straight into corporate pockets) While I’m bagging I look up and I see myself in a video camera. Wednesday sushi rolls are on sale, but they serve their Asian fusion type sushi all week, best selection is before 4pm, when the chef is still there, and can take special orders.. Try the nigiri!👍🍣

i came to big y for the western union service they have at their customer service section.i was assisted by marie, linda and tammie. apparently the system wasn't accepting my payment and it took them over 20 minutes but they were finally able to process my payment.thanks to their patience and diligence. i appreciate their help, they are very good employees.i will return to big y because of them. thanks again.

I had a very large catering order this past week and could not be more impressed with the quality customer service received from the Rocky Hill location. Communication, courteousness, efficiency are all departments in which they truly excelled. I called the day prior to reconfirm and each department knew exactly who I was and what I ordered, were able to confirm we were all set and sincerely thanked me for my business and for choosing them during my hard times, while sending condolences. Not only did Ryan, I believe the produce manager, greet me in the bakery, he brought the produce order over to the sandwich area and proceeded to not only streamline my checkout in the floral area, but to bring almost all of the carts to my car for me. His help was so instrumental. The gentleman in the sandwich area was so kind and friendly. He had 24 platters plus organized and ready to go and because of his preparedness, we were able to load methodically and quickly. The lady in the florist was even happy to help make any accommodations for an easier check out. Needless to say the food was amazing! I can’t Thank You enough! Best in price, customer service and quality, I would recommend and use again.

I was appalled at the service I recieved recently regarding a sale price advertised. On 3 occasions I asked employees to help me in resolving an issue I had on pricing. I encountered on all 3 occasions that I found the employees to give me answers without once contacting the department directly, without consulting any supervisors and without contacting any store or department managers. Such a simple task and little to no effort was exhibited to help a single customer in resolving a mere pricing concern/request. I would not see myself ever shopping at this location again and for that matter with the market as a whole. Just awful to have to explain to people how to do their job.

At the first glance, Big Y looked great from outside and it caught my attention. I went in to pick up some household items and I must say that it is great from inside as well. Their business tag line 'world class market' goes well with their business. It was superb inside, not only in terms of how it was organized but also the items they carry inside the store. The staff was very friendly,helpful,knowledgeable,professional and courteous. Also, they have some good deals like half off, buy one get one free. Overall, it was a great experience shopping over here. Thumbs down, it wins over all super markets in the area.

This Big Y has a great selection of food and everything is always super fresh and delicious. I have never once gotten a bad product from here. The employees who work here are one of the best reasons to shop at this store. They make you feel welcome and are always extremely friendly and kind every time I visit. Love Big YI can almost always find everything there. Except Saturday when I went for veal cutlets for Marsala, the butcher said he had 4 pks. In the morning and a gentleman bought all four. So...I bought the stew veal butterflied and pounded then made as usual. Here is the finished product

I highly recommend this grocery store. The people are wonderful, the food is fresh and delicious. The store always is clean and well stocked. If you get a chance to meet the deli manager she's one of the kindest nicest people I've ever met.

Great Place to shop groceries if you are getting more than a few items.... Cause it is Big enough! Good Selections. Tired in between shopping, grab yourself a slice of their homemade pizza n drink n have a seat! When done, if any situation arrives at the cashiers or self check, they are ready to help....

Never really busy, nice store best pizza doe I've found to make homemade. Deli is usually busy here. Iittle higher priced and great grinders made in house to order.
