Stopped by the Riverton General Store after a hike looking for a sandwich. I was pleasantly surprised by the establishment. There were two employees both of whom were entirely pleasant and happy to help. The sandwiches were made to order and they were speedy without rushing. There is indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outside and it was quite nice. There's a good selection of drinks and snack and dessert options. I'll be back.

Really nice place to eat outside. Great sandwiches 🥪 Riverton is a nice town. No bathroom, but there are town facilities nearby. Check Facebook for specials.

This is a really nice place for lunch and a great scenic location! Sandwiches are so delicious and tasty! Normally we would give it a five star rating and usually the staff are EXTREMELY COURTEOUS and friendly, but the lady, behind the counter was extremely rude and unpleasant, not only to me but also to another customer, which I observed the interaction with! There was no reason why I should have been subjected to this treatment??? I was taken aback. Not the friendly service and interaction we have normally received at this store! Disappointed!!!☹️☹️

First time visit, (from NH), and went for breakfast & coffee. Was impressed with the quaintness of the business, friendliness of employees and the delicious "true" Italian Grinder, I had that won out over a breakfast sandwich! Would of given 5 stars, however, 3 "flavored" coffee pots were empty. Do highly recommend!😊

All the snacks, drinks and baked goods you could ask for from a classic New England general store with an exceptional deli counter and ice cream that's a notch above the rest. They have pretty standard coffee (drip/batch brewed) nothing spectacular but perfectly fine to accompany their fresh pies and desserts.The outside seating is spacious and shaded inside is mostly bar seating by the windows and a small table.This is a regular stop for me on any bike ride in and out of the Berkshires. Just be prepared to walk around in your socks if you have clip-shoes because they don't allow cycling cleats in the store 🙃

I love this store. My only regret is that it closes so early on the weekends. It's in a very picturesque part of the state and is perfect for a quick bite, a delicious dessert, or an ice cold beverage. I've never been disappointed and whenever I'm in the area, I always stop in. The decor is captivating and the staff is always friendly

Stopped in for a quick bite and was pleasantly surprised. The employees were friendly and helpful. The store was clean and shelves were fully stocked. Quite a few patrons eating lunch so I tried the BLT and I will be back to try the rest of the sandwiches. Prices were very reasonable. I'm looking forward to stopping by with the family to eat outside and watch the old town charm pass by.

Delicious as always. I got a large bowl of chili and my daughter had ice cream, salted caramel! The chili was so good my daughter ate most of it on me 😆 She said they must have a secret recipe it is so good! Owner and employees are all very friendly and helpful. This is one little store I frequently visit.

This store truly is the heart of Riverton. Friendly staff and small & comfortable store. During fishing season, this place is packed! If you're planning on going on a picnic, make this place your food stop. Delicious wraps, grinders, and sandwiches. Never disappointed! Local spot.

I thought this would be a great quaint spot to enjoy a quick bite of breakfast/Brunch and a coffee.Clearly 🤩 There are tables inside and in a shady courtyard.Before an adventure with my Lilttle crew of retired ladies into our Blessed natural bliss to share a day together with long time friendsThere is no bathroom available to the public which truly leaves you with no options.This policy is inhumane as far as I’m concerned. It’s quite concerning for those with digestive issues .The fabulous person I speak of is 68 and very kind , sweet and a GrandmotherWondering if it is legal to run a diner with seating etc with no public rest room.So just beware as this policy can truly ruin your day and be extremely embarrassing 😳For those believing they will find common courtesy with there meal , you may want to bipass your journey thru these doors.Maybe it’s better for a to go place?The Management is definitely off at this establishment !It’s a bit confusing because of all the tables I mean multiple tablesInside and out so.I won’t ever be spending a dime here again.THE PERSON DENIED USE OF THE BATHROOM IS 68 YEARS OLD .Hmmm. The Riverton General Store consistently has the best in sandwiches for both breakfast and lunch. Although it's often out of the way, I enjoy coming here for a solid meal when I have the opportunity! Prices are reasonable and service is fast and friendly!

Great spot for breakfast sandwiches. Havent been here in 2 years but when I lived in winsted I would stop and get a bacon egg and cheese on a hard roll. 👌🏾🔥🔥🔥 best bkfst spot in NwCT fashoo!! Take my advice, you won't regret it 🙃

I bought a frozen store made chicken pot pie last weekend. My God! Amazing ... absolutely the best I've ever had!!!! This beats all the recipes I've followed! You have done an incredible job with this store. During the COVID the professionalism displayed with safety protocols made all of us feel safe and secure ... and well fed! Brian

Oh, what’s not to love about the Riverton General Store? Best Breakfast Sandwiches hands down, comfy tables, moon pies (never pass up a moon pie if they haven’t sold out). Great sandwiches and friendly efficient staff. I love stopping in when I’m in the area 😁.

Beware. They do not wash hands or wear gloves while handling ready to eat food. Poor sanitation. Poor management. Deli case is gross. No exhaust hood, so the place smells like grease in the morning making egg sandwiches. It’s almost like the health department has never visited this place.Oh, it’s overpriced as well.

Great food good service good old fashion general store. I live not far from the store and I'm in there a couple times a day. Have to try a sandwich there in my opinion they are the best around. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
