Online ordering at Stop & Shop in Putnam Connecticut is not secure! I was not able to go into the store so I ordered online. I arrived at the scheduled time and texted them to let them know I was here. I received several text saying my order was on the way out. I spoke to an associate and she said my order will be out shortly. Over an hour later, I called the store and was told my order was fourth in line, so I waited longer. A manager and another associate came out and then told me my order had been canceled. That a man with a foreign accent had called and canceled the order. They told me they took it as fraud and the order was canceled and apologized. I drove off with no groceries, I called the store manager to ask him what happened and he was less than helpful as he would not give me any information about the man who called because it was “personal information“. Over a week I spent on the phone calling Stop & Shop and was told I was going to be given a refund as my card was charged, I was supposed to be getting a refund. We’re going on two weeks and I still don’t have any money. I was told by corporate customer service that I would have a refund within 24 to 48 hours that was five days ago. They have some fraudulent stuff going on with their systems. Do not use your credit card whatsoever, they will not believe you and they treat you like you try to fraud them. Horrible customer service do not use the online ordering service.

Marcus the store manager was arrogant and dismissive when I had called about a bad product they had. The product in question was nature's promise meat that was sold to me slimy and smelt like cleaning chemicals. Whether this is normal or not is not the issue, getting my money back is not the issue. Being heard and my concerns takin serious was disgusting by him. Threatening to call the police on me because I said I'd go there and buy all the chicken to protect other consumers is disgustingggg professional behavior. Marcus, your a weak weak man.

Clean store and well stocked. Usually only 1 register open tho, so if you don't like self checkout it'll definitely be annoying. Other than that it's a stop n shop just like any other.

The large African American woman is totally rude and I have no idea why- she is nasty and it’s inappropriate. The night manager yells at people who come in near closing he is very aggressive and rude. The redhead woman who is obese and about sixty once went thru my bags when I was in the bathroom and was indignant when I caught her as if she was in the right. Also the bald guy is rude- I say hi and he says nothing at checkout. It’s annoying and rude.

Looking to work after you’ve already worked? Look no further stop and shop Putnam is the place for you! Pick out all your over priced groceries while being followed by a robot.then make your way up to self checkout as they have 10 registers with nobody on it. Then clock in and put your apron on and start checking yourself out as one lazy worker tells you your doing it wrong . Awful place,over priced, would rather put robots to work then people, and I’ve never seen a union be willing to lose their jobs so quickly.

Some good experiences but alot of bad. Messed up my order of 200$ and gave it away to someone else. poor employee attitude and lack of responsibility when it comes to owing up for a mistake and helping put groceries into the car.

I went in to stop & shop, and I noticed a robot that I thought was a floor cleaning machine. This robot named " Marty" is a security/surveillance robot. It drives around with little cameras all over it looking for" security" issues. We have enough cameras on us day, to day we don't need the little robot patrolling around watching everything, that's what the cameras all over the store are for. Stop & shop should have done the right thing, saved probably over $40000 and put it towards a real life employee, a real person can see threats, far faster than any robot. I do not feel safer with a robot. A real person has the ability to detect subtle hints that a robot never will. A real employee , also would take that money and pay for their home, family, and pay taxes. That would actually help contribute to the economy, and society.I will not be going to this store any longer due to this robot, I will take my money to shops that hire people, that can actually contribute to society.It is too bad, the gentleman with the beard working at the seafood counter was extremely helpful, the cashier was very kind, there are very good employees at this store. I wish they had hired another real person, instead of buying this obnoxious robot. if not for "Marty" I would be back buying seafood, and meats. Instead I will be going to a different market for my groceries.

The store itself is fine, but customer service... zero stars. I shopped there at 7pm and the store is open until 10 pm. I wanted to return an item and was told to come back another time as no one was able to help me and that customer service was CLOSED. The young man helping me apologized, but the older lady he spoke to was unhelpful and dismissive. There were quite a few employees there, so no shortage of staff. I recently moved to the area and thought I would start coming here, but no thanks, I would rather go elsewhere.

Good ol' Stop and Shop. Always there when we need you. I go here since it's a familiar place and I know where things are. Their prices are fair. The woman checking us out asked if I had a card, which I do but I didn't have the number handy, so she used one for me. I really appreciate that and will likely go back because of it. Thanks for looking out for us dear check-out lady. Appreciate ya!

OK, so don't go to this Stop & Shop expecting anything too different from the other S&S stores. That said, the parking lot is huge, there are now electric car chargers, there is the Stop and Shop gas station nearby. This location is easily accessible off Rt. 395 and if you're out shopping it's also a short distance from the local Walmart too.This location has a few specific items it carries regularly that I cannot always find at other S&S stores, so I favor this location lately. Specifically: the Old Tyme low carb 647 breads. They usually have a good amount of stock of this. Also, they carry multiple flavors (but not all of the ones I'd like!) of the Stevia sweetened soda Zevia.Final note: the pharmacy had easily available COVID booster and flu shots. Your mileage may vary, of course.

Putnam stop & shop is much cleaner, than other stores that I have been in during the past few years. It is well stocked and there are actual cashiers working at the check out. I absolutely dislike stores that force it's customers to use self check-out. Not only can it be frustrating but it also takes away local job opportunities!!

Very well stocked, clean, and friendly staff! Often has better deals if you watch the flyers. Dairy products seem to be really expensive though. Light cream $5.00, where at Walmart it's like $3.50 or so.

Clean and always well stocked. Even during the COVID-19 shortages, I found more items available here than surrounding stores. Staff is helpful and friendly. While Stop & Shop tends to have higher prices, I'm willing to make the trade off for a less crowded store and no lines.

I like the options in produce, and Aisle 24, but I can also find organic canned veggies, Nature's Promise mustard, and other scrummy items, in the middle aisles. Down side: the sauerkraut & kimchee selection is not as good as coop-type stores! ;) Also, the back lane *doesn't* smell like butchered flesh--so, thanks there too! Maybe more dried fruit?

Prescriptions, Cortland apples and nice bouquets brought me into the Putnam S & S today. I must say I was quite satisfied with all three. This store is a bit unique, parking-wise, as you enter at one side of the store and exit at the other.

Place is clean, well tended, and well stocked., Seldom crowded! Great if you just need to run in for a few things and want to get in and out quickly. The folks working there are very friendly, helpful, and have a good knowledge of where things are and will help you find things if needed. Has a bakery, deli, seafood, and meat departments with good selections at reasonable prices. They have a store brand for just about everything and it's frequently (not always) as good as name brands at a fraction of the cost. They have a savings card that saves you money aft the register and earns points toward savings at their gas station. The store is easy to get to, and has ample parking.

The freshest? A simple YES! Upon entering the produce section ,I was impressed with such a great and abundant selection of which I had eagerly sought bargains. The grocery aisles were sufficiently stocked . I was able to do a thorough frugal shopping. The lot is huge and offers easy access. I was also able to fuel up my car at the gas station near the exit. I even saved money .

The manager Katherine was extremely rude to my friend and I over talking to my sister who works there. She didn’t politely tell us to not talk to her while she had customers and was very rude. We are still customers and deserve respect. I would of taken it kindly is she was more nicer.

Stop n Shop is a great store. A lot of great sales and they don't run out of thing as a rule either. But if they happen to you can easily get a rain check and its a great way to still get the sale price when it comes in. You can get your gas points with your SnS card too. Well worth the savings on the gas.

Decent selection but overpriced - they would rather throw out meat, fruit and vegetables then to give everyone a fair price. I see it happen and even told em lower your prices and wouldn't kill so many animals in vain and throw away all that meat, veg, fruits - in turn would help out your customers and allow them to eat healthy without going broke.
