Great little marketplace to pick up items for home. This store should really only be used to pick up a few things here and there. Definitely wouldn’t fill the cart here, prices are higher than anywhere else in southington.

Go there for all my quick shopping trips.The rebuild was masterfully done. It is a great specialty market that now features the Ecce Panis breads. The deli is the best around and when I need lunch meat Tops is my place to go.Contrary to popular belief there are real good buys. Just recently I bought strawberries at $3.99 per package.Check out the weekly sales.Check out the soups. If you are a lover of soup Tops has the best. All home made usually two varieties every weekday.Today they featured chicken with rice and vegetables. Delicious as usual.

Wonderful market to shop for food products! I haven't been to this place since the fire incident. They did such an awesome job with a rebuild as well. The new interior is very inviting and eveything is well organized and well kept. Happy Holidays to the Tops family!

We just used their catering services for my son’s wedding in Hartford, Connecticut. They went above and beyond what we could have ever expected. The food was great. They had many options to choose from and it all tasted really good. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and helped us out in so many ways. We would definitely recommend Tops to anyone that needs catering services.

Great place when I need to grab something quick. Love the hot food and salad bars. One suggestion - for those of us who are short and have short arms, it is difficult to reach the items at the back of the salad bar. Longer serving utensils for those items would great!

Tops market is a clean little grocery store with a variety of brands. It's staff is friendly and helpful.It is a little pricier than a large chain grocery store/supermarket especially with virtually the same products, but it's cleaner than most.

Nice and clean. Well stocked. Not impressed with the employees. The reason for 2 stars? They aren’t following State guidelines for COVID-19. Carts are outside the store and not sanitized. Wipes were out. Sanitizer stations all empty. No one way aisles and the only 6 foot markers were at the register. Never going back

Came in Sunday for cold cuts, dealt with Mo and Hunter. Mo was very friendly and polite and hunter prepared my cheese while Mo did the meat. Less than 5 minutes for 3 items....awesome!

It's my first time going into Tops Marketplace since they rebuilt, it's great to see them back up and running. The store is really nice inside, all open space so it looks bigger. Good prices, clean, & staff are friendly as always.

Betsy (manager) is intimidating and mean. We avoid shopping here unless absolutely unavoidable. Prices are higher than competitors. Parking is “at your own risk”. Staff is young and constantly changing (assumes due to management). The store is out-dated and crowded. The only positives I can provide is the deli - fast polite service and great quality.l, and the owner John is a warm and kind man

This is our local IGA and it is more of a neighborhood store than a chain of supermarkets. Not all of the prices here are the best but the staff is very kind and they have great deals. If you sign up for the mobile rewards program once or twice a week they give you a coupon for a free item.

I have been a Top's customer for many years. Since their rebuild, due to a fire, the store is absolutely gorgeous and they have many more options available. I love the open and airy feeling! ❤️

It's good in a pinch, but it's an old small supermarket that didn't really update for a newer generation. They should be locally sourcing and getting responsible products. The produce is quite lack luster in appearance and taste.

Tops is... well, it's been there since I was a kid, so you know they've been doing something right.They're convenient and right there, rather than going all the blasted way to queen street. The inside, including some of the equipment is beginning to show its age, but not... intrusively so, or at least where it counts like near the food.My roommate is the cook of the household, and says their avocados are usually better than price chopper. The meat... It's all fresh and good, but he said something about the beef not getting drained as thoroughly as some other locations, so it spoils faster if uncooked. They have a freezer section, good selection of snacks, decent selection of soda, good little bakery section, they've got all the essentials and a passable selection of spices... It's an old-school corner grocer with aspirations of being a supermarket when it grows up.There is one thing though, that I should mention separately. Right in the door, as soon as you enter through the left and hang a right, there's this little kiosk. The little old asian guy and who I suspect is an apprentice, his son, or both, and their sushi stand. From his own story, he worked in a bunch of impressive places including a cruise ship. His story, while interesting, isn't really important for the point of a review, other than to support that he is well-versed and well-practiced in his craft. What I can say for certain is that their sushi is good. Damn good. My roommate says it's the best he's ever had, and he's a fan of the stuff that has bounced all around the country. Restaurant in Hamden? Average. Price Chopper's sushi kiosk? Meh. Kinda weird, skimps on the eel. This guy could open his own restaurant and be a friggin' star, but... I guess it's just what he likes to do. Good food fresh-made with care at an affordable price, and if you don't see it in the case, ask.Seriously, if you like sushi, go here. Hidden gem.(This review was written before the fire. The sushi guy is back, and his counter is now in back by deli.)

Nasty owner, constantly bad-mouthing customers behind their backs. As soon as a customer leaves, she gossips to other shoppers and staff. She has a nasty word for everyone.Freezers must be old, several times got freezer burned or thawed & refrozen food. Not sure what health issues that could cause.The final straw was finding mold on prepared stuffed mushrooms. I handed the package to the owner, and later saw it back in the case!! If you must make a stop in this place, be sure to look over EVERYTHING, and check expiration dates.

They just reopened for business as of 03-27-2020! Even though I'm not from this town (nor do I live there), believe it or not, I was at this store the day it went up on flames (I went during the afternoon) that took place after dusk. It's very nice to have a small local supermarket like this again.

They might not have everything but they have everything you need including a great butcher, deli and prepared ready to heat meals. Great for singles, couples and families large and small.
