Two registers open on a weekend and self-check out is ridiculous with bagging, having to press so many buttons before you can even begin checking out and then errors. I gave up and will never come back. Buying high priced groceries shouldn’t be so difficult on your customers

Out of all the Stop and Shops I have been to in CT and RI this is my favorite.Extremely clean, friendly staff always willing to help when looking for things and even checking in the back. I cannot say enough good things about them. I go in frequently for myself, my family and to fulfill Instacart orders and they never disappoint!

Mostly it’s awesome. Lovely people work there. Every once and a while someone isn’t chill. But hey, that’s nothing. The selection is mostly great for Gluten intolerant And lactose intolerance. And there’s organic fruits and vegetables and other organic foods. Also if you want frozen Veg. or Vegan something, great selection. There’s also mass market paperbacks if you forgot your book and are really wanted to read. Peace, people of earth. Peace.

Really nice modern grocery. The store was very clean and well stocked. We found everything we wanted. Prices were a little high, but with inflation right now everything is high. Our checker was extremely nice and so was our curtesy clerk. We are from out of town, so they were able to run a shopper’s card for us to get sale prices. One thing though;We bought a roasted chicken and it had no seasoning at all. It was extremely bland and tasteless. 😐

This review is more about an employee than the store itself. Suzanne that keeps the front end running smoothly always goes above and beyond to make sure the customer is happy. She has always provided the BEST customer service even in the most difficult pandemic times.Suzanne is a valuable team member that any retail store would love to have on their team!

Went in mostly for deli meat and there was an employee slicing meat but was told the deli was closed. They often don't have the 5 gallon Poland spring bottles stocked. May have to start driving further to big Y. Doesn't do any good if you can't get what you want for

Store it’s okay but need to work on customer relations they seemed to be in a bubble of their own world. Tendencies of profiling minorities can make an uncomfortable shopping experience. Corporate need to re-educate and reinforce this. I spoke to the manager this morning and it didn’t seem like he cared much about my complaint. These matters should be taken seriously too many folks being hurt and disrespected by this discriminatory tendencies.

I'm reviewing the Pawcatuck store. I did not have a good experience. Dawn at customer service acted as if I was bothering her. She made our transaction impersonal and if it couldn't have been done any faster. Will my cashier was nice. However the bagger Stacy was flippant in her actions. After being offered a Stop and Shop bag I declined. I brought my own which I raised to hand Stacy. She didn't take the bag. What she did was flick my items towards me with the back of the hand and kept tapping her fingers as if she's bored. I just picked these items off the shelves and brought them to the register. If she didn't want to touch my bag she didn't have to flick the items at me. The register counter was not too large for me to reach them.***went again today***I walked to the register and 3 were standing there and I was not greeted. They acted as if I interrupted their conversation. I wasn't asked If I had a go card. I did say I needed to punch in my number. I only purchased 3 things. No one said good bye.

Like the song goes... 'This is just some place I used to know". It's unfortunately gone down hill in recent times, which is the exact opposite of it's prices.. they've only gone up. I know inflation is here, but compared to Big Y (my now favorite grocer), S&S is much more expensive.

Had to go this morning and grab some toilet paper before my classes started and the self checkouts were closed so I went to the only open register. As soon as I put the toilet paper on the belt the cashier (older lady)looked me up and down and loudly said "REALLY" and then proceeded to scan the item while screaming at me "NO SALE!" and charged me full price. She hadn't asked about my stop and shop card and she obviously didn't bother to hit the forgot card button, but I didn't have time to fight the lady on the price so I ate the charge and left.

My wife and I have been shopping here for well over 10 years, spend hundreds of dollars on groceries each month. Recently, my wife purchased a 12 pack of Michelob Ultra beer, along with other items. Every couple of weeks, I take the assorted empty water bottles, soda cans, etc to the redemption facility on-site. The Michelob Ultra bottles, (10 bottles, 50 cents) were rejected by the machine. All other plastic, cans, etc were accepted. I took my receipts to the courtesy desk, and asked the lady attendant why the bottles purchased there were rejected, she said (without even looking at the "CT Deposit 5 cents" on the label) that they do not accept bottles purchased In Rhode Island. I said "but I bought them her" she said, "it doesn't matter if they were bought in R.I.; I repeated that I bought them in this store. She replied that it did not matter, I repeated once more that they were purchased here, at which point she said "have a nice day", and walked away.So apparently Stop & Shop has no issue collecting the deposit, just a problem redeeming them.With that, neither I, my Wife, or my adult children will be shopping there in the future. It's not the 50 cents, it's the principle . There's still Big Y, McQuades, Aldi and Costco, more than willing to do business...Sad

Few clerks. Wait line at self checkout. Shelves are low. Choices are limited for months. Veggies and fruit go bad in a week. Yellow onions look like they got wet and are moldy.

Going back to other stop and shop in westerly. Produce is not fresh and out of so many . 1 cashier, and 5 to 6 in line. Crazy. I ll go for small things, but not large list.

I went here early to limit COVID exposure. The self checkout is closed early in the morning which is really stupid during Covid. So there’s a line of people and only one register open. Everyone in the line has a mask on but the cashier and the bag lady NO MASK!? I saw one of the meat counter guys sneeze on some meat he was not wearing a mask then he just wrapped up the meat and put it on the shelf. This company does not give one bit about its customers health and safety only it’s bottom line. It doesn’t wanna risk someone shoplifting? so they close the self checkout? they don’t care if you are at risk they only care about themselves. I will never shop at this place again they have lost my business and all 25 of my family members business. This company does not care about its customers otherwise they would require their employees to wear masks especially during the height of the pandemic. What about kids with cancer? What about people who are immune compromised? The answer Stop & Shop doesn’t care one bit about kids with cancer. And who do you think they’re donating to politically? This company is a disgrace and I’m going to spread the word about their evil ways. NO SHOP bic NO STOP!!

Although this is a typical chain grocery store with all that you would expect, I like the produce section, deli, and the butcher counter. The staff is more than willing to accommodate a customer.Check out is usually not a problem because there are enough cashiers on staff, but during tourist season and peak hours, cashing out can be a little more challenging if you want a store cashier to check you out. Otherwise you can use the self-check out.

Stop & Shop can be on the pricey side if you don't use coupons. The entrance closest to Kohls is the only available door. There is no sign on the locked door, to let you know this, until you get up to the door. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Stop and shop is pretty good. Sometimes the produce is too close to going bad. I have had to take a few things back. Prices are reasonable for most things. Using the store card for gas points help with my fuel budget too.

I shop here only if I have to. Worst sales out of any major supermarket (every single week). They skim you out of 12 ounces from their Orange juice (by dairy case)....look closer, normally it's a 64 oz / half gallon container; at this stop n shop it's 52 ounces at same prices of a 64 oz. Milk is nearly $4.00 a gallon...just because. Prices in produce and frozen are very high. There are some good notes: their own bread/hamburger/hot dog buns have a good taste vs. other supermarkets. Beef and poultry usually taste fairly good.UPDATE: Maybe just a coincidence, however Gallon of Milk is just shy of $3.00 now, some additional sales added to weekly circular is much needed for this store, thanks for the extra savings as of two weeks ago.

I like Big Y in Clinton. Stop and Shop prices are much higher. It is difficult to get waited on and the shelves are never stacked. The cashiers are unfriendly and always talking to each other. The second time I have gone through the line and they never checked to see if my card registered. Guess what, I just got home and it didn't. I spend the extra time to go to stores I like. I don't usually shop at this location. It's not my preferred one. I find the layout a little confusing. I don't really know how to put it, but it doesn't seem to flow. You spend a lot of time searching for things. And once you get to know where things are in the store, they seem to move it all around.

I only shopped at this location because I am a vendor here. I was at self checkout and Lance has a bad attitude. The price on the soda came up wrong and I asked him abt it and he was real short and acted like I was bothering him.
