Our time in Old Saybrook did not permit a regular booking, but the shop kindly called back after a cancellation. The groomers were pleasant and caring...and they did a fine job of cleaning and trimming our cavapoo's fur, combing out his mats and not shaving him down. The Christmas bandana gift was a cute extra touch. We are happy!

We just moved to the shoreline and were looking for groomers close by. They did a fantastic job on our standard doodle and wheaten terrier, actually tried to get the mats and knots out vs just the typical Shave down you see everywhere else. Great place, we have found out new groomer. Dogs also came out smelling great as well! Good shampoo!

My pup badly needed his nails trimmed. A friend told me that Pampered Pets allows for walk-in for nail trims. I stopped by, learned that they could take him then and in less than 5 minutes we were in and out, for a great price! Wow!!!

I called on a busy Saturday morning & was surprised to hear they could fit us in that same day! My dog looked beautiful! They did a great job caring for him & getting his winter coat shedded out!

In my opinion this place is the most professional grooming salon in the area. Most of all I like that when washing the dogs in the salon professional shampoos are used, and there is a possibility to choose an individual shampoo for my dog.

The service was great ,the people were kind and very knowledgeable about dog grooming I actually learned that if you cut your dogs coat it changes there hair growth and coat color wow, will definitely be bringing my dog back again. 😀

I'm not sure why, but you get the feeling that you are privileged to have your dog groomed here. First the person at the front desk doesn't know you or your dog from Adam. Next, everybody's asked to bring their dogs in at 9:30 or so so they can cage them or put them in a holding cell and then give them back around 5 or whenever they get around to it...nice touch. The best part is they ask you what you want then they tell you what they can do or if it's the "right thing to do". First time...good cut(I showed a picture of what I wanted) Second time...horrible. A couple of small mattes on my cuter that hell soft coated wheaten terrier turned into a buzz cut that that turned him into a bizarre new breed that is hardly recognizable. I begged them not to shave him but then they did. Taking out the mattes was way beyond their skill set. I think they did it because it was the easiest thing to do. I won't have to ever complain again because I will never go back there again. I suggest you do the same.

We have used Pampered Pets for almost 20 years now. 2 scottish terriers not so easy to groom. They do a wonderful job and u feel your pet is in good hands. There is nobody else for us but Valerie . Thank you for taking care of our dogs.

Overall, we had a terrible first (and last) appointment at Pampered Pets. As a first time customer, services were not explained and the staff appeared annoyed that we weren’t fully versed in available options. Front-desk employee was awfully rude. When we scheduled the appointment, we explained that we needed a cut and a wash. When we arrived, we were told that our appointment wasn’t for a cut. Our appointment was at 9 am and were told that our dog wouldn’t be ready UNTIL 5 PM!!! I understand that pets can’t always control their bladder and bowels, but there was urine all over the floor with no concern from the staff to address it. When I called back to see if we could pick-up our dog before 5 pm, the employee on the phone was extremely rude and, in fact, hung up on me. When i picked up my dog, the cut was choppy and pretty butchered. The charge was $95—seems very high for a cut (they said it was because he was matted, though we hadn’t noticed any mats prior to arrival). The cut itself would be 3/5 stars but because of the deplorably rude customer service, they earned a 1 star and gained a customer who will never, ever go back.

We needed a bath and a trim for our Persian cat.My wife was given an appointment at 9:30 AM. We were called to pick him up at 5:00 PM!!!! They did a terrible job, it looks like he was shaved by a toddler.. You can see clipper strokes and patches of long hair. They charged $90 and they didn't even cut his nails. He has been very depressed since he came home. We will never go back again!!!!

I brought my 17lb rescue dog in for a nail trim. I explained that he is terrified and the two of us could not hold him still to safely trim them at home. They whisked him away into a side room and left us to wait in the lobby. I could see through a glass door that it took about six people to hold him down. I decided to try somewhere else and after seeing how it could have been handled - I do not trust Pampered Pets. The other location put the pet first instead of getting the job done. They took me into the back room with them and taught me how to soothe and hold the dog so we can show him this doesn't need to be scary / traumatic. It took just a few visits and he's not scared anymore. If I kept going to Pampered Pets his nails would be trimmed but it would take six people to do it with a lack of consideration for the long term affects.

They were good with my dog for her first time there, though it did take what I believe an extremely long time with what looked like 4 groomers working. My dog was dropped off at 10 am and wasn't done till 3pm.

i have 2 sm poodles both with health problems. the folks at pampered pets are the best groomers i have found and i have tried several. they are caring and never give my little guy who is very wiggly a razor burn. i have used them for the last 3 years.
