This needs to be the worst pharmacy in CT. The drive thru is AWAYS closed for the past 3 years. When you get a text saying that the prescription is ready it is not! I love waiting in line for 20min for them to tell you this!Maybe they have issues with the manager!Seems not right!

This CVS pharmacy has the worst customer service. They make you feel like you’re bothering them. They never smile and all seem to be miserable. I owned a chain of retail stores for 20+ years and understand how difficult retailcan be. I’ve never taken the time to write a review, however every time I’ve been to this pharmacy they are consistently horrible. Even my doctors office has commented they’ve heard about “the OS CVS pharmacy”. I had to go to another local CVS because OS was “out of stock” on my medication and the pharmacist at this other shoreline CVS said she’s heard how bad the OS pharmacy is. I think it’s time to change pharmacies.

The pharmacy gets really busy. But they do a good job addressing people's needs.I believe they do the best they can. I'm satisfied with their service

This is pharmacy specific, the store in general is nice. My vaccine appointment was cancelled 4 times, each time 2-3 minutes before my scheduled appointment time, after receiving the usual “check in for your appointment” texts just moments before. When I asked a pharmacist why this keeps happening I was told “we don’t have that here” and then “also I’m the only one here.” Seek other locations if you need a vaccination of any sort, this pharmacy has given me trouble so many times for a variety of reasons at this point. The ladies who work at the front of the store are always lovely.

This is the absolute worst CVS I have ever been to. The CVS store itself was fine but the pharmacy was horrible. All of the employees were rude, mean and clearly do not care about customers. I was trying to fill a script last night before they had closed. I had thought the pharmacy closed at 9PM, however I was mistaken and they close at 8PM. Regardless I was there at 7:48PM waiting in line behind another gentleman. When it was my turn the employee coldy asked me for my information and all of the staff behind him was making comments to me and the other guests about how we were bad customers for coming so late. This is a horrible way to make someone feel, when this was the only time I was able to make it in due to work. After I had given the guy my information he found my script and was ringing me out. He did not ask for my insurance or anything. So I had let him know that I had a discount card I would like to use, sent over by my doctor. This is when they told me it was "too late" to help me, although it was only 7:55PM. I understand they close at 8PMbut why take another customer and start the transaction to turn them away mid transaction. There was a pharmacy tech who had come over to further let me know that it was my fault because "I should not have come so late and expected service" and that there was nothing she could do and I would "just have to wait like everyone else and come back tomorrow". There were other horrible comments voice by all, the counter works, the pharmacy techs and the pharmacist that are inappropriate in a customer service setting.I returned to the CVS today at 1:10PM explaining that last night they sent me away because "they didn't have time". Instead of apologizing he had said well they you just need to go to drop off and someone will help you. I waited at drop off for 5 minutes. They called someone over to help me. This lady was pleasant, she asked why I had not used my insurance and I said I was unaware this was covered by insurance. She spent 5 minutes adding info and informed me my copay would go down to $3 from $15. She let the other two workers know that a new label would need to be printed. I had asked her how long the wait would be because I was on my lunch break. She said, everyone goes on lunch at 1:30 so before then. Then she helped the customer behind me and I waited. It was passing 1:30 and she was in the back no where to be seen. They started closing the gates on me so I finally asked what was going on. They said I would have to come back after work. I said that this was not possible and the other lady said this would be done by 1:30. I was met with attitude and rude comments, with the pharmacist emphasizing behind my back that her employees don't have time for this.Lastly, and maybe the worst part was that after they finally agreed to help me and re-print the label. The worker who helped me at the counter asked me "well how much was this before insurance", I said, I believe 12-15 dollars. He said well I would have just paid that without insurance. It is not like it is expensive, and it would have been much faster than waiting". I find this very hurtful and inappropriate because my finances are no ones business and I pay for insurance in order to use it for circumstances like this. He had no business commenting on my financial situation or ability. This is the WORST pharmacy and I will NEVER come back or recommend it to anyone.

Horribly incompetent. They incorrectly reported to my insurer one of my prescriptions as having been filled. Instead of straightening out their error, I was told I would have to straighten it out with the insurance company. Additionally, they couple their incompetency with rudeness. I would rather spend an hour at the DMV than come here to get a prescription filled. I am done with this CVS.

CVS Pharmacy NEVER answers the phone. A critical prescription has been “in process” for three days but there is no way to find out what the hold up is. Called the main store and told me to come in or find a new pharmacy!!!!!

I give zero stars, I had to put one to be able to post this. I am typically an easy going person and give good reviews to most places. The pharmacy at the Old Saybrook CVS is Horrible. They are incredibly rude and disrespectful. They make snide comments about their customers and NEVER have a smile on their face. (There is one woman there that is pleasant) I get that they went through a lot durig covid, but a lot of other people did as well, there is absolutely no reason for it. It is ridiculous that the drive through is always closed because they are "under staffed", there are always 4-6 people working in there. The CVS in Flanders always has less people working, they are pleasant and the drive through is always open. Steer clear of this CVS at all costs if you want good service!

I am a post surgical patient and my doctor call in a prescription due to complications. My wife rushed to the store to find they did not have the prescription ready and would not help. When she asked about the doctor calling in my wife was told “take it up with corporate”. Rochelle was the person who did not care on Christmas Eve.Never again will I buy anything from CVS.

The Pharmacist was very kind and helpful, but there is no staff. He was the Pharmacist and cashier. Had to wait over an hour in line. What is wrong with cvs, pay your staff

My doctor ordered a script I needed to start ASAP due to bronchitis when I'm an asthmatic. Over 24 hours later and it's still not ready. I'm told I have to wait 30 minutes to get a script that I'm already a day overdue for and it's only for 10 pills so not a complicated script. CVS has gotten too big and can't fill it's orders. This will be last script here and I will tell all my patients to go to other pharmacies because this is ridiculous

Absolute horrible experiences. We have had emergancy medicines not filled and attitude from staff when asked to send order to another Cvs pharmacy. We have had 0 contact on refill issues. I also have never heard such rudness in the drive through window. This is not just a recent issue. It has been on going for sometime.

The store itself is pleasant experience. But as for the pharmacy, the staff is rude. They abruptly hang up on you and won't let you refill a prescription so many days ahead of schedule. In order for that to happen they have to talk to someone for the okay. Oh and the app, is straight trash. No push notifications for prescriptions ready.I wouldn't do gone to CVS if it wasn't a change in my insurance. I would of stayed with Walgreens if my insurance had a contract with them. Pleasant experience all around. But after a few months with CVS I switched to another pharmacy. I would not recommend CVS for your prescriptions.

Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service. Never experienced anything like this. Sit on hold on the phone for 1 hour + to ask a simple question about a prescription. Dont even think about going through the drive through, always at least a 40 minute wait. The workers are useless and very rude. Something needs to change here.

The worst CVS I've ever been to. Long lines at the pharmacy - I've never had less than 8 people in front of me & it's often 12+. Allow at least 20-30 minutes waiting in line before you get to the counter. And when you finally get to the counter? Your prescription may not even be ready - even if you received a text stating it is. My text came yesterday & just now I'm told that they can expedite it & have it ready in 20 minutes? After I've already waited in line for 24 minutes? This isn't the first time I've received a text from this location stating my Rx is ready & it hasn't been.Think about doing drive thru? Forget it - it is never open; the same closed sign has been posted at the window for weeks.

This store is mis-managed and extremely rude to customers, particularly the pharmacy who have no consideration for people, who may be Iill, waiting for prescriptions. I will never use this store again.

Horrible experience. Scheduled a 10:45 am appointment for vax. Checked in at counter (10:30 am) - it is now 11:30 and I am still waiting. Only 1 pharmacist working. EVERYONE HERE IS MISERABLE!!! Customers who dropped off scripts 3 - 4 days ago and they r still not ready. Why offer services when u have no staff to fulfill your obligations? Read the reviews folks. This is a chronic problem with this store. Just shut it down for Chrisakes!

Edit 9/19/21The absolute worst self checkout system ever. Getting through it without it "calling for assistance" (which takes forever) is like winning the lottery. It goes crazy over everything and can barely even function.I walked away from it without even getting my impulse purchase today because it's that much of a hassle.____It's decent as a far as a CVS goes. It is a bit on the smaller side, staff is not always available to help, and the pharmacy is often severely understaffed, but overall it's basically what you expect.

This CVS deserves zero stars. Probably the worst pharmacy I've been to. The costumer service is weak. Every time I go there the employees are miserable and not helpful. It's like pulling teeth trying to get your questions answered.

Sadly the local CVS does not currently have a Vaccinator on staff so they are unable to give vaccines this flu/covid season. Worse is that according to one employee "corporate refuses to remove our store from the website" making it still possible for customers, like me, to sign up for an appointment, get updates and reminders right up until the moment you are standing at the counter being told there is no one there to vaccinate....waste of my time and still unvaccinated. ugh...Hey CVS, put some profits into the stores, the CEO's pockets are already well padded. People Before Profits....

People working in this pharmacy will do anything but their actual job. As a former employee of CVS pharmacy, I noticed that the workers here lay their workload onto the customer for things such as contacting a doctor for authorization to transfer a medication that is controlled. They simply do not want to do the job they are being paid to do. Most do not even know the law; a controlled medication CANNOT be transferred without authorization from the doctor that prescribed it. My medication was not available for pick up becaue it was out of stock although they had a "different brand" available. I asked the pharmacy worker if they could use that and contact my doctor for authorization, and they proceeded to tell me MULTIPLE times that "that would be a lot of work on their end" before hanging up the phone. Extremely incapable and rude workers. If a pill falls on the floor 9/10 times they will just put back in the bottle. No one uses gloves and rarely hand sanitizer when filling medication. Be weary. Just speaking from experience as a previous worker at CVS pharmacy. The service is atrocious but so is the work going on behind the scenes. Certainly not medically appropriate.

Terrible terrible terrible. Never again. This CVS should honestly close. Lost prescription last time and this time not able to do a flu vaccine even though we had an appointment. A lot of upset customers in front and behind me.

Absolutely horrible service. I don't know how they stay in business. I only go there because one of my medications is reasonably priced there. WalMart or Nutmeg pharmacies are awesome.

Do NOT go to this pharmacy. They refuse to answer the phones and take no responsibility for providing any level of customer service. Also- don’t bother asking the front store for help because they will claim they are not affiliated with the pharmacy.

Long wait, it took 5 visits to get a simple tube of hydrocortisone- and the overworked clerks wanted to charge me nearly 50$ rather than check my insurance coverage- a little homework revealed it should cost $5. Take my advice and find another pharmacy!

If you're looking to buy supplies, then you're probably okay.If you're trying to deal with the Pharmacy, then you can expect long waits and suboptimal service. The staff treated me like a number instead of a person, and they were unable to address my concerns with an insurance company, leading me to not be able to fill a prescription. I will take my prescription needs elsewhere from now on.Further, they turned me away from a fully scheduled and confirmed COVID test appointment, and made no effort to remediate the situation. I will test elsewhere from now on.The Minute Clinic staff was friendly and effective when I set up an appointment, which is a slight silver lining.

Pharmacy is terribly understaffed, which just makes for the worst service ever. Long waits in the drive thru, in store, and when calling for pharmacist. Today two cars in front of me bailed on the drive through, so it only took 45 min instead of an hour. With the cost of medication one would think CVS could afford to adequately staff their pharmacy. This is the first time I checked the reviews, and guess I’m not surprised by the other comments and 1 star ratings. I’m definitely going elsewhere.

Called the store automated system 2 days ago to refill my script. I followed back up with the pharmacist yesterday to ensure it would be ready, which he assured me it would. I go to the drive up today, they didn't fill it. When I asked how thats possible they refused to have any accountability "im not sure" and that pharmacist "isn't working today". I was asked to get out of the line and drive around to wait for 5 other cars to get their scripts to return again. This is unacceptable with no accountability whatsoever.

Every CVS in the country is the same. There are not enough employees and checking out at the pharmacy, the counter or the self-checkout are agonizingly slow. They are ridiculously overpriced and the coupon scheme is criminal. I despise CVS. Hire. Enough. People. The people themselves are lovely, but the flow at checkout is maddening.
