I love Agway for pet supplies and all my WILDLIFE life supplies. They are always helpful and knowledgeable. They sell products that are made in the USA which is very important to me as i dobt buy Asian products. The sales manager Jen told me she will help me find a wet cat food that is made here. And the best thing is Agway always collects for shelters and I can being my dogs in the store with me. And they do accept coupons!! Shopping is always more fun with your DOGS!!

The ladies that work there are very nice and give great customer service. Very helpful in finding what you need. I decided to go check the place out because of all the great reviews and I chose to go here with the intention of purchasing a bale of timothy hay for my guinea pigs and other items. The hay is very poor quality. It was 90% yellow and not soft. My piggys won't eat it. I am very disappointed, and have to throw it all away because they're having none of it. My rabbit doesn't want any either. (I've received bales in the past from other places, that that are yellowish on the outside, but the inside is green and soft. But once I cut this bale opened, the inside was still yellow and hard. It has just a few green pieces of hay) I am not sure how old it was and if it's even timothy hay. I thought I would get great quality hay here, but please don't bother shopping here for bales of hay for your animals, unless they like hard and yellow.

Agway is absolutely amazing. It is 1 of 2 companies in North Haven that I'll buy supplies at (thats not a corporation). If you have a green thumb then give it a visit before you head over to Home Depot. The selection outshines them drastically and they have better grade suoplies. It is also a 5 minute drive away from Universal Drive (I91 exit 9).For anyone who is further advanced with growing your plants of choice, let me assure you that they can handle all of your needs without paying Amazon prices, or having to wait for a shipment. The staff is also very friendly and knowledgeable.Agway is located around the corner from the 40 connector on State Street. If you take I-91and exit off exit 10 (which turns into the 40 connector)immediately followed by exit 1 - first exit about 1 mile down, then you are basically there.Spring is around the corner. Plan for a beautiful garden by stopping by and doing some window shopping, ask some questions, and prepare for another great harvest.

I am so pleased with my experience at Smithland. I cannot say enough. The customer service is truly superior; above and beyond my expectations.I rescue and rehabilitate feral cats. They are very particular about their litter, so when I found this litter that works well AND they accept; I was thrilled! Tidy Cats Pure Nature is the best litter I have ever used. Unfortunately, it has been discontinued by the manufacturer, Purina. I am grateful that Smithland had a few bags left in stock. This purchase was really important to me because it allows for a smoother transition to a new litter. There also were some logistics to figure out, as I live near Plymouth, MA.Thank you to all of the associates at Smithland for making this happen. I would like to extend special thanks to:Kan Tanabe; store manager of the North Haven, CT location. Ghost and I are eternally grateful for your efforts.Sincerely,Wendy Godfrey

Stopped in while I was in the area and was very surprised at how much selection there was for pet supplies. Jenna and Brandon were super helpful when I asked a few questions about the dog and cat food and gardening issues. Will definitely make a return trip.

Just had the greatest experience with Jenna who spent lots of time helping us find the right harness for our pooch. We usually come for flowers and mulch but this was a brand new (and great) experience for us. Agway/smithland continues to slay!

Love this place! We moved to town earlier this year and I have shopped her many times for pet supplies as well as lawn and garden things. Very good selection on pet, lawn and garden things, and the customer service is consistently great. Very good rewards program if you sign up for that, too.

My go-to spot for pet supplies, specifically for my pet rabbit. They have a great selection of Oxbow hays at a really good price. I love coming here for plants too. Everyone is super friendly! It's my favorite place to buy bagged compost or dirt, you can pull around and have it loaded in your car. Makes it super easy!

The North Branford Store is the Store I usually shop at. The store is always neat, clean and organized. All of the employees that i interact with are super friendly and eager to help. This last visit I was shopping for wild bird supplies and they suggested a Mr Bird Bug n Nuts Feeder. I was a little skeptical but decided to try it. My birds and wildlife didn’t just like it, they LOVED it and devoured it. However, it did last longer than loose seed would have. Also, it brought a large variety of visitors to my areA including all types of birds and chipmunks. Would definitely buy this product again.

Every year I purchase the Scott's four step lawncare program and other fertilizers from this Agway store. The pricing for lawncare products are the same or a little bit less than the big box stores and you can get in and out of the store quickly. The employees are also very pleasant.

I love this place! I wish I was rich because I walk around and look at all of the gorgeous flowers 💐🌹. A gal can dream, can't she!? LOL. They have everything you need, it's nice and clean and organized well. The nursery is like walking thru heaven.

Agway of North Haven is now my favorite Agway. The store is neat, clean, organized and well stocked. My shopping there consists of pet food and toys which rivals the selection of chain pet stores. Great selection of bird seed and feeders. So many choices I often spend a half hour deciding which bird feeder to buy. Lawn and garden section is also impressive. The staff is always outstanding, helpful and knowledgeable. They are also very dog friendly which is always a plus. Our previous GSD Toby was treated like a celebrity when we visited. Great store.

I was able to come in, get some competent detailed advice on how to treat my lawn and leave, in about 10 minutes or so. Everybody was very nice and pleasant which has consistently been my experience at this store. I'd rather go here than the big box stores because of the service, even if the price is probably a little more.

If you are shopping this Agway solely for pet products, you would likely award more stars since the selection is good, the store is bright and clean, and prices are about average. But pet supplies are the only reason ever to go here. This is not the historical Agway where you can buy livestock feed or farming, landscaping or gardening supplies -- it's a pet center.Almost anywhere else has more gardening goods: big box stores, job lots etc., is more likely to carry what you need.I shopped there at the end of July and there were virtually no herb (or any other type) seeds. I grabbed the very last packet of Cilantro seeds, 9.99, test date 12/20 -- old!!!, and they bore a chemically treated skill and crossbones label, so not ideal but they did germinate. And the cilantro I have since eaten didn't kill me, so okay. However, they had no food grade oat or wheat grass or barley seeds at all, which I like to grow in bulk to add to my dogs mostly raw diet -- only those gimmicky cat grass kits like they sell on Amazon the same cost (except the kits I bought on Amazon grew like crazy and the one from Agway had such poor germination I could count the grass blades on my fingers.)Organic potting soil? They were out of all my preferred brands and the store clerks -- while nice enough -- knew very little about gardening, plants, potting soil, etc (I was directed to look at Scott's lawn grass seed when I asked about oats). The pricey potting soil I ended up buying was a sodden compressed mess. My plants would have been better off with Miracle Grow from Lowe's.Liquid plant food: they had a couple bottles left but pints at $10, quarts at $25? I pointed this out to the register clerk who agreed it was priced incorrectly but made no effort to adjust it.Also, when you buy anything bulky you are supposed to drive your car around back to a supposedly waiting clerk who has your soil, except nobody's there. I had to get out of my car to find help & the guy expected me to lead him through piles of stacked sacks to find my soil mix (which I purchased off a wall menu, so I had no clue what the packaging looked like.)Unsurprisingly, he didn't have any fig trees when I inquire d, but no rubber trees either, which you can usually find almost anywhere.Don't get me wrong, If you live in or near North Haven and you are just looking to pick up any kind healthy houseplant for an empty spot on the window sill or a plant to bring as a hostess gift you can still manage that here (same as you can at the supermarket). But sadly this particularly Agway isn't any kind of gardening destination. When I asked why they were so poorly stocked I was told the North Haven location had switched their focus to pet supplies and that the gardening selection would not improve seasonally as more and more of the store's square footage would be devoted to pet products in future.Which is fine I guess but it's kind of a drag for gardeners who prefer supporting local businesses to buying plants from Amazon or Walmart.

An all around great store. They have a great selection of agricultural products such as fertilizer, extermination, flowers, plants, shrubs, hardscapes. Stuff you can't find at big box stores including many organic supplies. I needed a high potash, low phosphorus, medium nitrate fertilizer for my hardy hibiscus plants. They were the only store that had a fertilizer with a potash over 25 and a phosphorus under 10. They were also the only store that carried rat traps and cube poison when the neighborhood had a sudden infestation. Got rid of them within a week. The plants I've purchased always do well. The annuals last a long time and I've had probably a 98% success rate with perennials coming back. They also have an awesome selection of wild bird supplies such as feeders, seed, solid heavyweight shepard hooks etc.The pet section is good as well carrying a large variety of cat supplies including Fromm food.Everyone working here is knowledgeable and friendly. Happy to offer suggestions etc.The prices may be a little higher than the large chains, on items they both carry, however I would rather pay a bit more to support a locally owned cooperative than a big box chain.Great place and highly recommended!!

My complaint is the prices!I have been shopping at Agway for YEARS.I am shocked at how much the price of the birdfood is that I usually get.It has gone from 13.99 to 17.99 to 24.99!!!I am so disgusted.I love the store and its products but this is just sad.

You don't see customer service like this anymore these days. Helpful, friendly, always willing to answer questions. Sometimes prices are a little high, sometimes low. It's a wash, and even if it wasn't, totally worth it to support a local company. I usually stop when I have any excuse to drive by.

I went to Agway for information about my backyard chickens. The employee knew exactly what I needed and helped me get all the things I needed to bring them home. I came a little unsure of what I was doing and left with great confidence that I had everything I needed and I knew enough to care for them. But most importantly I felt if I needed more information I could come back and get questions answered. The knowledge of their staff makes all the difference.

I swear this store goes out of its way to hire the worst kids. I spend thousands here every year as a professional and as of today I’ve had it. It was fine until two years ago when they changed management (many times) after Jeremy left. All I get is attitude and I load my own stuff. I’m done

Like the selection of native plants. Seeing the pollinators busily do their jobs was a bonus. Great to also see an animals selection in the rear of the store was a win-win for me.
