Absolutely LOVE the BCC!We saw a pack of kittens go by and my boyfriend fell in love with one (for his silly name) so we applied. We probably submitted our application after 10 PM on a Friday with no real expectation of being considered for these boys since they were adorable kittens. To my surprise by Saturday afternoon we had heard back that our application stood out and they would like to contact our references. Less than a week later we were setting up a meet and greet, and a few weeks later we took home our sweet boys. One of our kittens had a health scare when we first took him home, and they covered that vet bill, and were still in contact with the bcc community and our foster mom! 10/10 experience

We have adopted four cats from BCC in the last 20 years. This is a first class outfit...they treat their cats and prospective adoption clients extremely well, and I cannot recommend them enough. Recently, I fostered five kittens for them, and was so impressed with the support they provided every step of the way.

Our family adopted from BCC at the beginning of the pandemic. The shelter was closed to visitors and with the help of one of their wonderful volunteers, we were matched with the most amazing cat. We described the kids of cat that would fit in our household with our resident cat. Mystic not only fits in but lights up our household. The communication was excellent during the adoption process.We were so touched hearing Mystic's rescue story on a cold December night, and her BCC rescuer clearly cared so much. It was wonderful to connect with her and hear the story of our cat that only she could tell us.I could not recommend this caring organization more highly.

I am so happy I adopted my girl from here after a heartbreaking loss of last cat. They are truly compassionate and take the time to find you the perfect fit. The first time I went there was very welcoming and open communication about any questions about a kitty or their care. They talk you through the whole process. Highly recommend.

Such an amazing organization! The volunteers are so passionate about helping their animals and it’s evident in how socialized and well taken care of the cats are. Such a wonderful shelter! For over a week I called various shelters & rescues throughout CT to assist with two stray kittens, and the Branford Compassion Club was the only shelter who was able to help. This rescue is truly dedicated to helping all animals and they really do assist in any way that they can. Thank you Branford Compassion Club!

Gave 3 stars cause they take strays and feed feral cats. But they will not let u adopt. We make together more than $120,000 per yr, own our 3 story condo, have savings for in case, have a vet who been seeing for yrs, food, water, toys, kitty poo box, clean litter, home, etc, and all the LOVE in the world. But that wasn't enough so please try your local shelter cause u will most likely get denied unless your the one who owns all the businesses in town, famous, rich, etc.. u will need alot. Oh and they won't except u if u ever went to another source cause of $$ to have your cat seen or fixed...cause again that means u were once struggling. And bonus the lady on the phone was NOT nice at all. Kinda of rude, mean, like "Get off my lawn!!!"

My wife and I adopted two tuxedo kittens 6 years ago. It was a fantastic experience all the way through. When you adopt an animal there is a vetting process, and this is normal. This isn't for the person adopting the cat, this is for the animal. We have 5 animals (all of which are adopted) and you need to respect the process. The price was fair, all the cats were well cared for, and volunteers were plenty friendly. A couple of years ago they helped us re home a kitten for friend who couldn't keep him. They were reluctant at first but once we explained the situation they were more than helpful. For the negative reviews, there a limit in which a shelter can provide. Their location is not infinite, they cannot take in every single cat (although I'm sure they would love to). Be reasonable, the compassion club is a godsend for our area and we're so happy to have them.

They care for all the animals at the Compassion Club as if they are their own. When I found a litter of kittens outside, I didnt know what to do. They offered without hesitation to helped me supply the best care for them, which I could have not afforded on my own. They are so compassionate and caring. I recommend them to everyone!

Even though I visit their window every morning on my daily walks to wave to some residents, only recently was I fortunate to have the pleasure of meeting a few of the volunteer care givers & must say, without a doubt, were the nicest people I've met in ages!!! Aside from these sweethearts I got a to visit the other kitties & see their homes. The club is clean, well matained & shows all the signs of love & compassion. Have no doubts about any adoption here & FYI, there are some real dolls waiting for you!!!

Best place to get a purrrrrrfect kitty... or two, we love the bonded pair of kittens we adopted from there. Don't expect to come home the first day with a furry friend, but the paperwork is sooooo worth it.
