Went to two of the locations. So fun. I could spend all day wandering the books. Indoors and out spaces filled to the gills with books. Helpful staff and eclectic vibes. Even has a playground an d space for kids. All books are very fairly priced.

What an enchanted beautiful place!! Took my kids here for a day trip to Niantic and they loved it! Books, animals and fun for the whole family. We got tons of kids books for just $1.

Such a great time, every time! A bibliophile could easily spend an entire weekend here and still not see everything. Love this place! And the whimsical garden decor and hilarious signs make it even more fun 😊

This is one of the most fun and unique book stores I have ever been to in my life! It's the epitome of a recycling dream - the furniture and decorations are all pre-loved. They have created a beautiful, homey location for books. They have all types of books - you will find what you need here! They also buy books from patrons if they are in good condition! I always come to this bookstore if I'm close to the area. It is a can't miss spot!!!

Came back down to Niantic again to check out the other book barns. Love exploring the area and finding new stuff to check out. 👍

What a cool place. Books everywhere. CD’s for $1. Books for $1 and up. Playground, animals and a great vibe. Most books were like brand new. If you’re a book lover, you can spend hours there.

This is a must stop to if you are in the area! There are multiple locations, but this one is the biggest and has the most outdoor space. I love the huge book selection, the friendly helpful staff, and spotting the book barn cats. You can get lost in book heaven for hours! They also have goats and fun things for adults and kids here.

As someone who loves used books stores, this is one of the coolest places I have ever been! There are SO many books and the prices were fair — I got hardcovers for $3 - $5! The place felt like a real experience and we loved walking around. It’s divided into a few buildings and carts, though the main barn had the best selection in my opinion. There are also porta a potties, goats, and an area where they buy books! I wish I had brought some to sell. This would be such a cool stop if you’re looking to celebrate with a book lover in your life :)

Very cool bookstore! I don’t live near here, but I plan to come back. It has different sections which are clearly organized. The store even has brochures to help you get around each section and find what you’re looking for. You don’t need to like books to come here! They also have a small play area, many flowers, art pieces, cats, goats & more! I ended up with 5 books my first time here. I will be back soon! I believe you can also trade books in here as well. Staff was very friendly and helpful. If I could rate it a 6/5 I would!!

Went for my birthday with a friend. It was a very chill and beautiful used book store. They have three different buildings with wall to wall books. Would visit again. They do take books you bring, you just have talk to an employee first.

This place was an experience! Calling all used book lovers...be ready to browse. We went on a nice, but chilly day and it was perfect for walking between barns. Books are everywhere! Crammed way up high to the ceiling and all the way down to the floor. I highly recommend, but give yourself time enough to browse.

A wonderful place to get lost. If you’re a reader you will love this place. Several out buildings with books. Cats and goats are a bonus. Great selection of books, I highly recommend.

This place is pretty amazing...a book lover's paradise. Pretty sure it's all used books. Most are $4 or $5, although you can find some paperbacks and CDs for $1. We left with a tall stack of books for only $35. The books are "organized" (they are, actually) into lots of small buildings you can roam through and explore. Almost an overwhelming amount, in the best way possible. If you love books and reading, you can easily spend at least 2-3 hours here.

Have been going here for years! Have sold many a book and bought three times as many!!!! Such a great place to get lost by yourself or bring the whole family!!! If you go make sure you check out the main barn and if you can, visit the other two buildings! Every time I go I forget how much I love it! The downtown is great because there are a lot of nice stores around it!

I love used book stores. The Book Barn is one of my favorites, fun to visit. Can stay for hours looking through everything. I always find books I didn't know I needed here. So many great selections (at all of the locations). Love the place!

Amazing! Love this place! Been going since my early teens and I’m 30 now, there’s something so mystical about getting lost in this place and seeing what you find. You can also sell your old books to them which is great!

Book Lover's Paradise, stop on by for a browse and you will leave with a book or 2, possibly 3 or 4. Fun doesn't stop there though. Walking through the property is a joy as well. Each building is unlike the last. Small pathways and gardens to walk through and cats to find (that will keep the kids happy for quite some time). Great for photographers and artists alike, this place has so many picture opportunities for the creative mind.

The book barn is a book lover's paradise, I love coming here! They have 4 locations with different genres of books in all of them, this is the Main Barn, they have a garden maze to different buildings that house different genres of books. They have a play area for children, out door activities, areas to read, goats, cats, turtles and so many books! Thousands of used and new books. You can also bring your used books in for cash or credit too. Honestly it's better than any book store or library ive been to with the exception that there is no guarantee that they have a specific book you might be looking for but it's worth the visit.

My daughter surprised me and took me to all 3 Book Barn locations. I loved walking through aisles and aisles of books. I was able to find several books in a couple different series I have been working on finding. They were well ordered and in great condition. While I wasn't able to find all of them I am on a great start and plan to go back next time I am that way.

A wonderful selection of used books, and a great vibe. The staff are all amazing. They decorate the outside areas for holidays and have cats and goats on site. A great place to go treasure hunting.

Gotta love this place. Three locations each with its own character, for instance, the main store has fiction, mystery, and children's. Very nicely laid out, plenty of places to sit inside and out. Main location buys as well. Very quaint, provincial, and fits the town.Second location has scifi and the third has horror and romance but all the stores have a range of topics from cooking to linguistics. One downside is the lack of organization. This is a browser's paradise but not for the obsessive compulsive.I forgot to mention...there are cats and goats. The goats are easy to find but the cats not so much.

One of the true treasures of coastal Connecticut. A truly awesome Thursday of (several) barns, shacks, outdoor stalls that inexplicably never get rained on, live goats and cats, year round Halloween decorations, and, oh yeah, books. So many books.Update, spring 2024: They've added some new features, including a life-size TARDIS and a QR code that lets you take a tour of the place conducted by a cat!

Really amazing place. I was able to find books that are very hard to find. They have every genre to suit anyone's needs. There is the main house then their shipping containers, sheds, club house, ECT. Books are very well priced and fair. You may also drop books off if you want. My two favorite subjects to look for are WW2. The last time I was there the books were located in basement of main house. Next subject is extraterrestrial and hauntings which was in the back clubhouse second floor if I'm correct. It's a great experience and can get lost in time looking through all the areas.

ASTOUNDING!!!!! When we arrived I had to take a minute to wrap my mind around what I was looking at. The property is FULL of cleverly crafted buildings and nooks stuffed with an unfathomable amount of books. The grounds are BEAUTIFUL. Huge sunflowers, herbs, flowers, fountains, playground, oversized chess and checkers, lazy fat cats, and a goat. Yes, a goat. You a can NOT properly sort through all the books in a single day. Most books are $4.00 or less. They have EVERYTHING you can image. If that's not enough, there are TWO additional locations in close proximity. The staff is VERY knowledgeable, kind, and funny. I visited their downtown location where I found another store stuffed with books. I bought 35 books lol.

Have been here twice and have never been disappointed! The location is HUGE so it's a bookworm's dream. I can admit that it can be overwhelming because you have no idea where to start, but just take your time and you will eventually figure out a way to tackle this place. Know what you like and who you read and if you happen to find something interesting along the way, it's all the better 👌

A BOOKWORMS PARADISE 😍 No joke. We spent hours here just parading around and looking at all of the books they had to offer. Not to mention, everything was SO affordable. I don’t think I saw anything over $4. It was a 45 minute drive for us, but worth it! If you love books, you MUST visit. It’s a 📚 wonderland.Free parking. No philosophy section which I thought was interesting 😞
