Such a great ice cream shop. Vegan options, coconut, almond and oat milk Seasonal flavors including pumpkin and apple. Soft serve and hard ice cream. Sundays, avalanches, floats and more. Safety measures in place. Staff was so nice. We were there 3 people ahead of us, nobody left a tip! Please consider showing them your appreciation by leaving a tip if you visit.

Love it here! Their milkshakes are the best. I once dropped my ice cream on accident, and they gave me a brand new one for free! Very nice staff and a great place to come with the fam.

This is a super cute little ice cream shop! Very friendly service, yummy ice cream and plenty of outdoor seating. It's in a convenient location with plenty of parking. We will definitely take another family trip here soon!

They have a couple vegan options (and not just raspberry sorbet...vegan seekers know what I'm talking about here).I had an excellent chocolate peanut butter swirl ice cream. The rest of my group enjoyed their normal lactose-full ice creams as well.

This ice cream shop is the gem of Newtown! The manager went above and beyond to create a special cake for my grandson. The theme was from the book "Where the Wild Things are". He rocked it! The cake was a big hit! And it tasted great too!

Really great flavors and great service. The only thing I would change would be to move the soft serve menu out from behind the windows. I didn't even know that soft serve was available until after I ordered and was waiting for my ice cream.

I'm always on the hunt for great VEGAN hard ice cream (soft serve seems easier to find). I would say the coconut based chocolate ice cream I had here was in my top three best vegan cones ever! Definitely worth a little drive for this treat. Would love to see toppings marked vegan on the menu in the future. This place has a cute vintage vibe and the two people on staff were super friendly and smiling. Glad I went!

Nice little place and friendly people. Homemade ice cream with all the "fix'ins". The salted caramel hard serve was excellent. They also have soft serve, sundaes and banana splits. Definitely will be a regular stop when I'm in the area.

Delicious! This place has homemade ice cream with lots of flavors. They also have a bunch of soft serve flavors and a few non dairy options made from almond milk. My boyfriend has Celiac and he had plenty of options to pick from here!

The worst customer service and rudest staff I’ve encountered in a long time!!!!I have gone there a few times this summer and each time has been extremely inconsistent. The first experience was pleasant and the person working told me about a baby cone when I said I had a one year old. We were so excited we returned for a second, that time the girl was very rude and said that what we were mentioning didn’t exist and she could give me a smaller amount for the same price as a small. The third time we went my daughter had been talking about a “baby cone” for days so we decided to drive the good distance that it is for a special treat for her. This experience was absolutely HORRIBLE. The girl working was so rude from the very beginning and looked like she was doing us a favor by simply saying hello and taking our order. Then another girl proceeded to get the “baby cone” and when she handed it to us it was maybe a tablespoon of soft serve in a cup. We went back and said how that was significantly different than the last times we had been there and she told us that maybe we were confused and had actually ordered a kiddy cone the other times. We spoke to the manager who was not very helpful or sympathetic and then also said maybe we had ordered the wrong thing.We will NEVER be returning and can’t believe that something so sweet and simple as getting a baby an ice cream turned into such a horrible experience!!! We were eager to be supporting a small local business (especially in these times) but we will make sure we go somewhere where the customer experience is actually valued!!

I love holy cow! Their ice cream is FANTASTIC and servings sizes are reasonable with unbelievable prices! Their prices are so low and reasonable. Their seating is very nice. Their staff is really nice and warming. Their ice cream flavors are DELICIOUS! I love this place I DEFINITELY recommend this place!

Just came from the Holy Cow, the service is super speedy and the staff is extremely friendly! They are always smiling. My kid was so happy to get their twist cone!! They loved it so much. Thank you Holy Cow! We will be back

There’s two ice cream joints I go to in this area, and this is one of my favorites! Served fresh and with a smile. Don’t let the line discourage you, it’s well worth the wait on a hot summer night. The menu has a lot of nice choices too! Check it out if you haven’t yet.

Went on opening day for the season and all things considered they did a great job. Parking is hard but the view was worth the trip, and at 6:30 pm there were still tables available with no wait. Fried calamari and Caribbean chicken sandwich were great, and service was also great.

The best chocolate chip ice-cream anywhere. 2022 update... They changed the chips! Now it's no better than average. They let customers get out of hand, making it unpleasant to be there at times.

Friendly service great ice cream and always a treat. I’m here tonight however to voice a small gripe. 3 times this season I’ve been there with my family just before closing (anywhere from 15 to 5 minutes prior) and the avalanche mixing machine is already unavailable/being cleaned in prep for closing. Not good for business in my opinion. I’m sure the staff is tired and wants to get home after a long hot day at work but this is one of my family members favorite from Holy Cow and has now been disappointed three times in a row this year. Pizza places don’t say “sorry we shut the oven off, no more pizza”, coffee shops don’t say “sorry we shut the coffee makers off early”...it’s just a bit sloppy in my opinion. Yes I’ll keep going back, no I’m not boycotting or angry. Just please don’t shut the machine down early! Thank you.

"Spoonfuls of Flavored Clouds"After a full afternoon of celebrating our anniversary, my wife wanted her favorite indulgence, "Ice Cream".We were in Newtown at a restaurant and I did a search to find the closest ice cream shop.Holy Cow Ice Cream Shop was only a few minutes away. We were really happy we found this place.I had a small cup of Caramel Apple Nut.Apple ice cream with chopped peanuts and caramel swirled through. My wife had a cone of the Chocolate Extreme. Chocolate ice cream with chocolate sprinkles, chocolate chips, dark chocolate chips, and fudge all swirled through the ice cream.Both of them were rich in flavor, but not dense or heavy at all. Very delicious !Their ice cream is light and airy. It feels like your eating spoonfuls of flavored clouds.
