So I went in for a bit to see the dog grooming. I saw so many things wrong! When they give your dog a bath they blast the poor baby in the face with the jet setting of a hose, not only does this startle and make the dogs upset but it can cause ear infections with the water. There was this cute young rotty that had an ear infection before and the parent said to bath his dog gently but they didn't they just put cotton balls deep into his ears which they had to fish out later! Then they leave the dogs on the grooming tables alone! That's how dogs hang themselves and that's the basic of dog grooming! Don't leave the dogs on the table! Then the worst thing I saw, there was this old 14 year old Shepard mix about 80-90 pounds a big boy, his name was Sky. The small groomer couldn't lift the dog properly so instead of asking for help from the other two groomers so grabbed the dogs slip leash that was around the neck and she grabbed the back end of the dog and lifted Sky by the neck, chocking the poor dog. The girl that did this is known for man handling dogs.They also charge money for services they can't provide. You'll pay for the premium dog shampoo but they give you the basic and same shampoo as the cheapest option because they haven't had soap for a long while. There's just so much wrong with this company that I honestly don't have the space to type it all out.

Dog beds are overpriced and very low on quality. I prefer Costco for price, sure, but their dog beds are far far superior. I only went because Costco was out of stock and dog got sick on old bed, too much too clean. Dog is fine with the petco bed, but its lost 1/2 it's "fluff" in a week. It will be replaced once Costco is restocked.Overall, store was clean, organized, and stocked. It's just product price and quality is low.

I would never go this Petco again. Unprofessional and they have no empathy for dogs. I’m happy that my dog did not get groomed. The worst part is that the store manager apologized to the grooming receptionist after the receptionist laughed at me. I asked the manager for her supervisor’s name and she refused to give me the information.

They keep my iguana "Orlando" the baby i brought from them 3yrs ago beautiful and healthy with their reptile products, Greg is awesome he's been there for over 16 years and this is the go to guy. Thanks for staying open.10/15/22Again! Great service and wonderful staff. I waited for another addition for my reptile room and purchased this beautiful baby corn. Great job guys/gals in Newington.

Every fresh-water aquatic animal I have bought at Petco has been healthy.I have also purchased hermit crabs and a guinea pig from there as well. They all did well.

They were really nice when I went to get my fish. I really like the fish so far and the animals seem happy there the birds are cool and one bird can wave it was cut so I give this place 5 stars

Found everything our family needed. We went to get a pet parakeet and I don't know who, but someone from your staff told me and my family everything he knew about parakeets. He helped us get him into the little box. Now we are taking care of a healthy, lively, and silly parakeet named Sasuke!-Thank you!

It's Petco. I will say one thing do if you are looking for a particular dog food if they carry the brand the more than likely have it. Don't believe the website I don't believe they have updated stock.

I have brought my dog in and met a very nice employee named Brie. She always does a super job and my dog looks and smells great so I have used her many times. With the work she does I hope you make her a manager as she is good with customers and not anything like the other person I saw there named Cheryl.

Some of the staff give false advice be weary do your research before listening to what just anyone says there.....my FAVORITE staff member in çrickets section told me medium crickets for my gecko.....I wasn't sure about it....older woman at the counter rug me up asked what lizard I had I said a small male gecko she said only feed one cricket at a time because they bite..... that he should be eating smaller ones ......just caution w your pets....no sugar gliders available that ive seen in 14 years.

This store has the most genuinely kind people I have ever met. The managers here care so much for their animals and customers! The girls in the grooming salon are also so kind. They are very knowledgeable about how to care for the dogs. Bring your dogs here!!!
