I brought my cat for a lions cut..last groomer I went to charged me 80 bucks. This one cost 150 and it was a bowl cutlike moe in the three stooges. Won't be going back...I dont mind the 10 $dematting charge but like he looked more like a broken baby seal than a lion...

I loved everything about Newington Pet Spa from start to finish! Making an appointment was quick and easy and they were able to work with my busy schedule. They had a consultation with me before cutting her hair and explained everything to me very well so I knew exactly what they were going to do. And the best part is, they did a fantastic job on her hair cut! I had taken her to other places in the past which didn't do a great job, but they did! They did a great job cutting her hair by her face and paws too, which isn't always easy for a wiggly dog. Her nails were cut well also! I definitely recommend them!

My hyper puppy Loki been going here last two visits. They always treat us with respect and professionalism. Always up front what they can do and try to do. Great prices and helps my puppy be more social. Bonus Loki comes home and takes a long puppy nap. I recommend Newington Pet Spa

After visiting Newington Pet Spa Grooming Salon, I appreciated their ability to accommodate my dog's anxiety and provide necessary services, including addressing fleas and giving him adorable haircuts to the best of his cooperation.However, my experience was soured by inconsistent customer service. On two occasions, I overheard the front desk receptionist speaking negatively about my dog and I which was off putting. (Customers can hear what is spoken in the back from the front desk area) Furthermore, despite leaving a voice message 24 hours prior to my dog's grooming appointment, the front desk receptionist tried charging a late cancellation fee, I explained further more and the fee was waived thankfully. However her attitude was frustrating, especially when my polite and respectful words were met with an unwelcoming attitude during the interaction.While the grooming services were satisfactory, the lacking customer service fosters a sense of distrust between the client and the business. If I am being treated rudely to my face I wonder how they are treating my dog behind my back. As a result, I'll be exploring alternative options for grooming services.

My daughter is in tears thanks to the pet spa!!! Stay away,Brought chihuahua for simple bath and nail clip, arrived to find one nail twisted off with a bloody paw. THIS IS BEYOND UNACCEPTABLE. if you love your pets stay away from this butcher shop.

Well, I went here to have my doggie nails trim and they trim the nails like 3 minutes and my doggie was bleeding on one of her toes. Who trims nails that fast is not really doing a good job. I have gone different places in newington and haven't found no place that can trim dogs nail professionally.

Our mini-schnauzer was over due for a grooming after another place cancelled last minute, so went to Newington Pet Spa and never looking back! Everyone was super friendly, completely comfortable leaving her and picked up a beautifully clean happy pup. They offer points and loyalty discount, but I would go back even without that incentive.

Our first time. I came here because my regular groomer didn’t have an appointment soon enough and I got a Groupon. The groomer here did exactly what I asked. Also reasonable $$ for a big dog. Would return.

I'm giving Newington Pet Spa 1 star because it's required to add one but they get 0. I dropped off my pup and told them I'd like for him to be trimmed but still fluffy. After 4 hours or grooming I went back and looked like Joe Dirt, with a mullet. NEVER will I take him there again or recommend this place to anyone. Money wasted.

Supreme care and respect. The staff at Pet Spa are a group of thoughtful loving groomers that really put their hearts into their jobs. If you need the best service for your family member(s), I strongly advise you to give the staff at Pet Spa a chance,,,,,,, you'll be very satisfied.

A place to bring dogs that need quick services such as nail trimming or bathing short hair dogs. Cutting/grooming long haired canines are not their specialty. I have been bringing my dog due to location for about a year and every time I want a specific length they can’t seem to follow through. The cut job is also very choppy looking and not blended well. Thankfully I have found another grooming facility that has a great groomer that actually knows how to cut long haired dogs. The staff here at pet spa is nice but needs to find someone with more skills.

I adopted my dog a few months ago and the first time I took her to get her nails done I went to Petco. It was a very stressful situation. My dog has a lot of anxiety when it comes to getting her nails trimmed. It definitely didn’t help to have a lot of people and dogs there. This pet spa was so easy and calm. The parking is right there so we didn’t have to walk far and when we got there it was just two other people waiting to get their dogs. The nail trim was really fast and even cheaper than Petco. The employee was also very kind. It was definitely the best experience I could've asked for. I would highly recommend this place!!

Came here for the first time today. My dog has special requirements. I am so pleased how she was treated. The groomer did an amazing job. The staff where friendly & knowledgeable. I recommend this place to everyone. Even though it's a little ride, it's worth the trip. thank you💗

I used to love their services, but they are so inconsistent and non responsive. I took my dog in today for a bath and was told that they can’t accept her after she is 30 minutes late for her appointment. No problem, but wait I bring her every 3 weeks and your never on time and we are charged for a full service but she only gets a bath. How does that work? So you can be hours late returning her but I can’t be 40 minutes late bringing her? Just made her an appointment with a new groomer closer to home. Praying we like them.

Updating my previous review from several years back…Pet Spa is still the only place we take our now almost 8 year old pup, although now he can be taken care of by anyone there. Love everything about Pet Spa!!My pittie pup had a bad experience the first time I took him somewhere and had never let anyone touch his nails since. Everyone had a recommendation...claiming the place they go to was the best. We tried everywhere and never found success. The first time we went to The Pet Spa, Scott took him in the back and came out barely 5 minutes later. We apologized-thinking that, yet again, we were going to be told they couldn’t service us-so we told him we understood because we had the same experience everywhere....But Scott looked confused and replied That he was able to do all four paws no problem. Scott had immediately calmed our pup enough that he trusted him. He didn’t scold him or restrain him or have to bribe him. Every time we go, it’s with Scott and it’s a quick in and out experience.And while he’s getting his nails done, we get to enjoy Diane and Cupcake up front 🐶😃💗

We were able to walk in with 2 dogs without an appointment.We brought them to have their nails clipped and smoothed.The wait was minimal and the process was quick. We were in and out in less then a half hour.Their charge was fair.Parking is on the side of the building but close to their front door.

I am going to The Newington Pet Spa this week, on Friday the 24th of March. I have know the owner, Kyle Knight for over forty years, and he is now, as always, a most sincere, hard working, great sense of humor kind of man. Easily likable because of his outgoing, fun loving and peaceful way, Kyle operates his business with professionalism and an innate sense of caring for animals, and seeing to it that they are groomed and cleansed as if they were his own animals.

My wife and I have been taking both of our dogs here for the past 2 years and The Pet Spa NEVER disappoints. They always have our dogs looking great. The feeling of gratitude we get when we pick up our dogs after a grooming appointment never gets old. I've taken my dogs to other groomers such as PetSmart, but the level of service/quality does not compare. Take your dogs to the Pet Spa, you will not regret it.

I took my 5 months old Yorkie just for a little trim and regular bath, I was really honest on how I wanted her to look, however they literally shaved off her face and head!! her haircut looks disgusting and lopsided I can’t even make her a pony tail, I was in shock when I saw her that I couldn’t say a word… I’m soo disappointed and upset that I wanted to cry. I couldn’t even recognize her. Never again we’re coming back to this place….

We took Murphy our English Sheepdog for a bath and combing. They did an excellent job on him. My daughter takes both her cats and my son his German shepherd Haydes. They come very highly recommend. Made another appointment with them next week. Very friendly staff. Very knowledgeable. They present you with options and recommend certain services that they feel will benefit your pet and what you are looking for. This is a hidden gem! Thanks Newington Pet Spa.

Edited after owner response: I appreciate the response of the owner to my complaint, however I would like to be very clear. Life does happen, but not to the point where you closed your business to support your employees. You continued to serve clients on the days when my appointments were canceled which means you made the choice to not honor my appointments and value my time. I even asked how the decision was made to cancel my appointment as opposed to others this past time and was told there was really no rhyme or reason. Finally, I have never once spoken to the groomer when picking up my dogs. There was actually an issue today with some ticks, however the groomer told the receptionist to tell me. I was not asked if I liked the haircut. I was handed the leashes and the receptionist said “goodbye.” Please do not make it out as though I’m overreacting. You didn’t value my business and now you no longer have it and my hope is that other pet parents realize that this may be the type of service they receive from you.Original Review:I have scheduled 4 appointments here for my two pups and 3 of those were rescheduled by the store at the last minute. This was usually the day before our appointment, however this past one was rescheduled 90 minutes prior to my appointment. Now I understand that life happens and that for one of those instances one of the groomer’s SO had gone into labor, but when 75% of your appointments (including the first one) is rescheduled by the groomer it doesn’t inspire much confidence in this store’s professionalism. And as a new client, I did not feel like my business was valued. Beyond their struggles with respecting their clients time, I never knew what my dogs would look like when they came out. As a new client, I tried to explain to the groomer how I wanted my Bichon Frise dogs to look (including showing them pictures) but they either didn’t care or didn’t understand and did not ask any clarifying questions. This past time both dogs faces were groomed unevenly. This will be my last time bringing my dogs here as I need somewhere that honors my appointments and grooms my dogs the way I request.

This is my go to spot to bring my pup to have his nails trim. They have been the only place to not have a issue in trimming his nails. The staff is supper friendly and understanding which I appreciate it.

Update - I really like this place so i decided to bring my dog back for his regular schedule appointment. I was advised this time when dropping of my dog that they may be running a little late. They were but it was resonable time and the communication was there. Thank you!I have been bringing my pet here for years and im truly considering bringing him somewhere else. I dropped my dog off at 10am this morning...not one call from anyone stating they are running behind nor a return call from my voicemail left at 2:45pm....i show up around 4pm and still my dog isnt ready...they need 30 more minites. I understand things happen but a call to the animals owner should've happen at hour 5 or sooner. Service and communication was better before, got my dog at 4:45pm (7hrs later).
