If I could give zero stars I would. I've tried to have grace for the photo department many times, but I am tired of the horrible service here. Every time I do same day pickup photos online, they are never ready and are printed out when I go to pick them up. Last time, they sent me away for an hour because they hadn't printed them yet...I ordered them over 24 hours before that. This time, the printers were down and they didn't even let me know that. Luckily I went in to pick them up and found out otherwise I wouldn't have gotten my photos on time. I asked for a discount for the inconvenience and they said no. Pretty unprofessional.

STAY WITH THIS WALGREENS AT YOUR OWN PERIL!! If there were zero stars to give, I would give it; one star is absolutely being generous and because I have no choice. I should have heeded the warning “once bitten twice shy”. I got a prescription from my dentist on Friday morning after having a surgical tooth extraction. I got two teeth out, and I was in so much pain. I couldn’t eat, and needed antibiotics. This sham of a pharmacy not only couldn’t fill my description, they did not communicate it to me. I called their pharmacy twice to check on the process but was met with two of the worst customer service. Worst part is they’re close on weekends, hence, I can’t get my prescription until Monday. I tried to transfer it to another store but to no avail. IMAGINE THE DISCOMFORT. I do not see why they should still be a pharmacy because they’ll get someone killed someday. They should stick to the photo whatever thing they do, even though they are mediocre at that too. I’m typing this in pain!

Always long lines and they never have enough employees at the pharmacy. Maybe two employees when there's 8 or more customers in line waiting. This is why people get annoyed and fights break out. My mom called trying to find out if there's a prescription ready to pick up, she was on the phone for 45 minutes, nobody picked up and she got disconnected. She doesn't appreciate that. Employees at the pharmacy are rude, especially the Tall Indian dude. We have half a mind to contact the corporate headquarters or the district manager. They don't have enough employees?, maybe that's because they're too picky who they hire.

Poor attitudes and customer service, and very unprofessional. I purchased an item and returned it 5 minutes later after I realized the price seemed a little high. (I purchased the same exact item at a Walgreens the day before literally right down the street that was half the price.) They would not honor the price I paid for the same item, which seems absurd. So I asked for a simple refund which took 2 managers and a store associate to initiate, and about 10 minutes! The store manager walked away without a single word to me that the process was complete. I had to call out to him as he was walking away to ask if my refund went though. He didn’t even turn around, he just signaled with his hands and yelled “yup.” From now on I will be going to CVS for all my needs.

The worst customer service I’ve ever experienced in my life, they are having fun and all the customers were waiting for another person who wants to help at the register (we needed another cashier), I asked for help and that rude guy said where is your ID and it was not sense?????? ID for what ? I felt discriminated.Everyone wants to pay for their groceries and leave but not we can’t bcz there were having fun with each other’s and they don’t care about customers.They didn’t want to work I don’t understand why ppl are to lazy and unprofessional.Please pay attention to your employees if is possible fire them, they receive their salaries for nothing. They don’t do anything for the store or customers. Disgusting 🤮

The pharmacy in this place is not only composed of incompetent and rude staff, it is also dangerous for patients trying to get their medications on time. I had to go in four times to pick up my insulin - with which I cannot survive - and the pharmacists came up with various excuses about why they had not ordered it or not had it ready for me to pick up. The lines are long and wait times have become unbearable. I have actually heard customers/patients screaming at the staff and walking out in disgust. Add the fact that they don't pick up the phone at all when you call and you have a disaster waiting to happen. I only came here because my local Rite Aid closed and my prescriptions were transferred to this location.This location is either about to close or waiting for a lawsuit to happen. It doesn't explain why so many people are complaining in the reviews and having awful experiences in person.

The issues I've had getting prescriptions filled at this pharmacy are absolutely ridiculous. I've had several gaps in my medications; in the latest round, I found that yet again a prescription was showing as "pending action--call your pharmacy" on the website. (The last time I'd spoken to everyone, we had all thought the issues were worked out finally and that I could start up on the medication again, only for me to get home and realize I only had six pills.) So I called in and they told me that yet again my doctor would have to provide documentation because I'd "already picked up the prescription [the one that ended up being six pills]"and tried to get me off the phone. I pushed really hard for them to look into it further, and what do you know they did in fact have everything they needed to fill the prescription. (It's been 3 days since I last had it.) Something really needs to change.In addition to frequently mishandling prescriptions, the folks who work at the pharmacy are routinely rude and provide misinformation.(An example of misinformation: one of the first times that I went in again after getting discharged from a residential care program, the people at the pharmacy told me I couldn't get my prescriptions there because I'm a Yale student and I have Yale Health coverage. Yale Health doesn't accept Medicaid [my secondary insurance], so I can't get my prescriptions there. Where did they get this idea? Do they think that low-income students don't get admitted to Yale? )

Always a long wait, very unprofessional staff. They so much as called me a junkie without actually saying the words because I needed a script filled for pain meds. They mock people for needing medications and laugh in your face. They've yelled at me for stepping one foot in front of the sign because the person behind me was coughing and was too close to me. They do not treat people as humans.

It was easy to find what we were looking for. You do have to be patient and call for help for a lot of the items, but the staff were pretty responsive.

Okay so I still came here even though this place is riddled with bad reviews. The reason why this location isn’t so great is probably because of the following I observed:1. It’s one of the few Walgreens within reasonable walking distance to all the people that work and study at the Yale facilities nearby and the multitude of people that live in the area too…many of whom may not have a vehicle either. There’s just a really high demand for it due to proximity and population…which was obvious from the lack of other stores that sell essentials in the neighborhood and the really crowded store I walked into today. The next nearest stores aren’t for a few more miles and a lot of people don’t have the ability to make their way to further locations without spending extra time and money…which a lot of us don’t have. If you don’t like what’s stocked here go somewhere else with better inventory 🤷🏽‍♀️2. A lot of things were out of stock, probably due to what I specified earlier compounded with an obvious understaffing issue and possible supply chain issues. It behooves Walgreens corporate to arrange for more shipments if they run out of a whole lot of essentials frequently. It is a high traffic Walgreens and they should make an effort to keep up with the demand on the corporate end.3. The employees were nice when I went and honestly if I was working here I would’ve been mad a lot of the time too. Not having enough people to help you stock shelves and deal with customers is frustrating enough and corporate could probably alleviate this stress by raising their salaries and offering more compensation for the cost of living in the area which is insanely high. Higher pay equals happier and nicer employees and more people wanting to work for you…definitely wishful thinking but it has worked for other large corporations like Costco and Publix who do these things already.4. It is also insanely expensive. Walgreens is already expensive everywhere else, but this one was nuts. I spent $35 on a handful of items that I could carry back to my Airbnb on foot.I just came in for some bare essentials to tide me over until the weekend when I can make it to a bigger supermarket. They had some stuff that worked fine for what I needed. I wouldn’t depend on this place for my main needs, just for a couple quick items. I liked that I could walk here from work nearby...and I’m sure everyone else around here does too.

transferred to this walgreens because rite aid closed. pharmacist refuses to allow discounts/goodrx coupons on prescriptions for no discernible reason and almost refused to allow me to pick up gender affirming care because i “might be pregnant.” would not recommend.

Not at all a safe place. Asked for separate billing and the chinese guy(staff) at the cashier counter became aggressive. He started punching the table with his fist. The staff is rude and intolerant. It is so sad and scary given that it is closest store to Yale and the main hospital.

I ordered tilepix from the photo department twice in the past two months. Each time I got an email confirming they were ready for pick up, they ended up losing my order and asking me to resubmit it and come back another day. Twice in the span of two months. Ridiculous. Done using their photo department.

Having a great day until I went into this place to be racially profiled while trying to pick up a 24 pack of water and a two gallon jug, like how fast am I going to go with these items in my hand but nope I'm just a well hydrated thug. This place is great for last-minute shopping. Snacks, deals on nails polish, my favorite shampoo line, and hair care. There are seasonal offers to decorate during most holidays. Greeting cards and Yale paraphernalia is also sold here. Gross soda can deposit machine in the front. There's an ATM, which is super helpful as well.

Use another Walgreens for prescriptions if you can. This is the WORST pharmacy to go to. The line is always long and the pharmacy techs are so slow and don’t even know what’s going on. Prescriptions that are sent days ago aren’t ready when you pick them up. So what if I didn’t have an insurance card on file. What if I wanted to pay out of pocket?? Just fill my mf order! That should be your job when you receive the prescription order. Almost a week later and the order was not filled. You have to wait even longer for your prescription to be ready after waiting forever in line. I would be embarrassed to even work at this building.

Pharmacy is VERY SLOW for no apparent reason. Too much idle talk and lack of motivation...no sense of urgency at all. YORK St. Location...It's like they're just dragging until break time. Several ppl have to walk out because prescriptions NEVER ready when they say. Today 10/27/23 this Manager was so Nasty and dismissive while I continued to be polite to her....

Placed an order on line for store pick up. When I arrived, most of my order was not available. Why does it say it's available on line, if it is not. Does this store have a theft issue or something? Aren't many things locked up behind glass? So how are things missing? Are they not stocking shelves? Ridiculous. The selection sucks and I can't even get the few things you say you have in stock.

A regular Walgreens. I went in a bit late at night and the store was quiet. The store seemed to be well kept and organized. I was welcomed by the staff when I walked in and treated politely by the cashier.

The wait time at the pharmacy is intolerable. It didn’t use to be this way.The Walgreen’s staff are wonderful. The people who work in the pharmacy are great. But, something is completely screwed up. People at the front of the line spend forever standing there. I have no idea what’s going on behind the counter. It’s as bad as I-95 at its worst. Do not have your prescriptions sent to Walgreens at 88 York St.I finally found out what the problem is. The pharmacy is whatever comes after being terribly short-staffed. The ONE person who is working behind the counter is trying to do the impossible. Whoever is responsible for the pharmacy at Walgreen’s at 88 York St. is letting that one person twist slowly in the wind. She, the sole person behind the pharmacy counter, could not be trying any harder. But, the people waiting forever in line, can’t she that she is alone and that some of the prescriptions that have been filled are not filled where they usually are.At least put up a sign explaining the situation and that wait times are considerably longer than usual so that before people get in line they know what’s coming.Whoever is in charge, for God’s sake, do something to protect / help the sole person working in the pharmacy.

I went there the store was immaculate. The manager Roble i believe, was friendly and helpful. When i left my car was gone. I asked the manager he called the tow company and battled for me and got my car back because the tow company, york service, announced the wrong car making sure the driver wouldnt come out. Parked here last night and dropped off a FedEx package and bought some supplies. It was a nice evening and we decided to walk a block to dinner. We left the walgreen's bag on the dash. When we came back the car had been towed. I know it's posted that, but I didn't think it would really happen. Needed $120 cash to get it out. Their ATM machine was broken. Called an Uber. Got there in 5 minutes, then waited 1/2 hour for the tow truck to return. I wonder if Walgreens gets a cut of the towing fee? I'll NEVER park there again and I'll NEVER shop there again. Instead of having people towed, why don't you charge for parking?

Update: after a couple weeks and multiple calls we got our money refunded after speaking to a supervisor at corporate level.I wish I could give 0 stars. The management here are the most scummiest people in retail. They charged $150 on a google play card when it should have been $15. They refuse to give our money back and repeatedly regurgitate their policy that there are no refunds on gift cards. We've reported this store to corporate who said the store was supposed to give us $150 cash out on the 1st day. They have gone so far as to say that "they could not give a refund because they tried calling the customer and were unable to reach her". I called corporate with this same number and they blatantly told me that the manager that noted that comment obviously lied about reaching out to me, they never called me. I walk in today and the manager working today refuses to give our $150 back. There's no way to reach Google because their customer service line is down. I work in retail & understand how policies work. It's disgusting how they are holding our money hostage because they don't want to be written up by corporate. This has been going on for 3 weeks. Other people have complained about this stores management and for good reason. Don't shop here!! There are plenty of other stores in the area with better management & customer service.

without a doubt the most incompetent and inconsistent walgreens on the entire east coast. good luck getting something you need. ask and im sure youll find it there within a year at some point if they bother to restock. every time i go there it ruins my night.
