Love it for the diverse food items! I find a lint of stores to have limited options in New Haven but this place has many Met types and veggies as well. It is clean and easy to navigate.

I went to Meat King today for a steak. I was less than impressed by the selection. I got the beef shoulder. When I opened the package at home I noticed an ammonia type smell. The steak turned dark/brown while marinating in the fridge. I should have known not to cook it but I did. I took one bite and the meat had the most foul taste. I immediately spit it out, and discarded all 3 steaks.Not worth the risk to go here - you’ll end up poisoning yourself or your family.

The staff are very courteous and the butcher will cut up your meat , very kind. Clean place, yet needs more Caribbean products. They didn't have green bananas for cooking and no real Jamaican fresh hot peppers. They should begin selling red stripe flavored beer like NYC

This place is definitely worth the drive huge selection of meats, great prices and they have all the stuff the other places don’t have do you want to make oxtail soup well they have oxtail lots of it. Do you want to make something with goat because they have plenty of goat, plenty of lamb, you can pick up a pig head, I recommend this place for all your taco making needs and other stuff as well

Be west of the meats you buy there. Today I bought a 10 pound of part wings and it was spoiled. Spoiled to the point it's smelled like ammonia 🤦🏾‍♂️ never again.

Meat Kings has good items like sage roped sausages, Various Georgia Hots by brand, Flamingo, Arnold, and more..They have good prices on lunch meats, and cases of things like Goat, Oxtail, and Lamb, I never saw a lamb head for sale u til Meat Kings whoa..lolMeat Kings prices change a lot so check the weekly flyer for prices, over-all meats you can find at Meat Kings at an affordable price or better when buying bulk

Really nice store could be better if the police remove the drug dealers who stands across the street every day claiming to catch the bus when it passes I work in the area I see the people selling drugs this type of thing cause people not to want stop by The Meat King by C-Town what a shame this is a store serving the community but what can they do when the police are not doing anything about it.

Bought a jar of mayonnaise 2 days ago, and just realized when I opened it that it expired on 9/18/23, and it has already been a week since its been expired. I go back today and notice that all the jars of mayonnaise on the shelf have the same expiration date 9/18/23. I asked the lady at the register if I can get a new one, and she calls a manager for me. The manager says they cant do anything unless I had brought it back the same day when its only been 2 days. Can’t give me a new mayonnaise? fine. But take them off the shelf!!

I just spent about 15 minutes in the line to get prepared food and this C-Town is racist towards blacks. II was the first one in front of the line and the Spanish worker looks at the girl behind me and ask her can he help her and she says , she was here before me. I said you can't see me? I left. I rather spend my money where it's appreciated! The girl behind me & everyone else was Hispanic. I assume this is how you train your workers to look past black customers!! I was very embarrassed!!! Shame on CTown!

Most of the meat looked good. Manager special prices okay. Was shocked 2 see sign @ cash register saying "Meat, Eggs, & Dairy can be returned within 24 hours with receipt". Not Alright ! Not knowing if it was refrigerated or NOT. Now what ? U put it back on shelves to resell. Ewwww

Drove an hour to get meat from the New Haven location. When I got home I noticed the steak had a brown color, and smelled. Same with the hamburger meat. So disappointed. All of the beef had brown on it once taken out of the package, and flipped over. I had to throw out all of the beef. The chicken and turkey wings were fine. The green pepper pack had 2/4 with mold. I spent over $200. I won't take that drive again. I should have just gone to Ferraro's new location.

This was my first time going into the new store. I was pleasantly surprised by the setup of the store. And the prices were great! I plan to go back sooner rather than later. The only problem was I went by myself so I could not get all of what I wanted to get because of the carriage situation. You can't take a carriage to your vehicle to unload your groceries.

What a fun market. Visited during the holidays. Heard the butchers yelling out "I got roasts, steaks" The fish department was amazing. Meat department had incredible deals. Can't wait to go back. Crowded but I didn't mind one bit.UPDATE: the location is now called meat king by C-Town but the review was for Ferraro’s that moved out and is in North Haven who I visited and does not compare to when they were in this location

Really great prices. Great selection. The specials are insane!The only disappointments have been:- I bought a 40 lb box of wings for $40. Couldn't look at them before buying them. There was barely any meat on them. Mostly paid for bones.- You can't take the cart to your car. They have made provisions and I understand why, but it's still inconvenient.
