10/10 recommend Pawtero. They did an incredible job tastefully grooming my 8yr old golden retriever. They knew exactly what I meant when I said feather cleanup. Our dog looks, smells and feels great. The employees were incredibly kind and accommodating. Got him in within two days and let us know they were ahead of schedule and we could come early if our schedule allowed. Absolutely would use them again and recommend! (Also note, when I dropped off my dog there was a gorgeous standard poodle finishing up and another poodle getting groomed when I picked up my dog- if you know you know, not everyone can groom poodles). Thank you Pawtero! We’ll be back!

They were wonderful! It was my Great Pyrenees William’s first grooming experience. We’ve been trying to manage him at home so he was a bit of a mess but I’m so glad we brought him here. It was clear he was throughly brushed head-to-toe, undercoat thinned, matts cleared and neatly trimmed. He was so white and incredibly soft, he also smelled like powdery freshness for probably 2 weeks after. My boy was also very happy when they brought him out and I can tell they treated him well and took their time with him, which is good because he is a big scaredy cat- he didn’t look the least bit upset.I appreciate the hard work their team put in (I think they said they needed 3 people to brush him, bless them) I brought in a mountain of knots, dirt and fur and they gave me back a giant fresh puppy. Highly recommend!

I LOVE THE PEOPLE AT PAWTERO!!!! And they LOVE their furry clients. My dog looks and smells delightful after his grooming and he is so calm when he’s there. He’s a Goldendoodle and their coats are not easy to trim but he looks adorable every time. I drive 15 to 20 minutes just to take him there because they are so much better than anything closer and Jäger gets groomed every two weeks.

Dropped my dog off at 10:OOam today. Its now 11:50am and I still don't have my dog. I called to check on my dog and AUSTIN with the bad attitude said it would be another 45 minutes because a new TRAINEE was working on my dog (without my permission or knowledge). I never authorized this and would NEVER let a new trainee work on my dog. I feel like this was a sneaky move and the OWNER needs to tell the staff to treat people with respect. When I explained to AUSTIN how I felt he hung up the phone in my face. DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG HERE!!! Absolutely TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

Absolutely love this place! I brought my 5 month old puppy here for the first time today and they did a phenomenal job. Couldn’t be happier with his first cut. Also, I really appreciated their patience allowing my puppy to get acclimated since it was his first grooming appointment.

I took my polydactyl cat to get her claws clipped because I can't do this on my own, and she'll get ingrown claws if I don't do this every four months. Very speedy appointment and very stress-free. Unfortunately, they don't do cat grooming anymore so now I have to take her to my vet. Pawtero was in my neighborhood and was so much more convenient than a vet trip. Hopefully, they get a cat groomer again.

I bring my 70 lb. retriever mix specifically to be groomed by Hayley. Hayley is the most compassionate groomer and forges a real connection with not just me as a customer, but with my dog as well. Salem is usually very sensitive to get her nails trimmed, but Hayley has such a gentle touch and goes the extra mile to make sure Salem is relaxed and enjoying her time as much as possible. 5 stars.

I have nothing but good things to say about Pawtero! I especially recommend Hayley, who has been grooming my goldendoodle for the past two years I’ve lived in New Haven. She always asks what style of cut I’m looking for before each grooming session and is so accommodating to make adjustments if something isn’t to my liking. All of the employees are so kind and my dog is so comfortable with them. I’m unfortunately moving away from the area, but I’ll miss the excellent service at Pawtero!

I brought my cat Rocky here for a sanitary trim before going away on vacation. It took maybe all of 5 mins (which I thought was awfully fast) and when I got him back home half cut fur was falling off of him throughout the house and it looked like they barely touched him! The pictures provided are after his "grooming". I called and emailed back in June with the same pictures attached, I did the same in July. And I have still not heard back 2 months later. I thought I finally found a placed to bring my longhaired cat but I will never be bringing him back here. Completely dissatisfied.

Pawtero bathed my Cat. Never in my life have I ever had to take one of my cats for a bath, and this lovely place does cat baths once a month. Beyond satisfied and our kitty is purring/chirping with happiness from being so clean. Thank you all so much, will return!

They did an amazing job with our 5 month old Australian labradoodle 😍 it was her first grooming and we were quite nervous that she was going to come back shaved 😭But they took their time (2 hours) and she came out looking beautiful!! Short, but not shaved. Paws. Nails. Ears. All of it done. I can tell they also used clippers and didn’t only rely on the buzzer for all of it 😄 She smells awesome, too. AND they have a whole wall of quality dog chews and treats.Thanks so much, Pawtero! 🐶 Next time I’ll definitely have to buy some of your beautiful cookies.

This is my third visit here and my third time disappointed. When I bring my pup in, I’ve asked the groomers to shave his legs when they create the “lion cut” yet they always fail to do so. I tried giving them many chances because I strongly believe in supporting local businesses. However, after you ignore the customers wishes so many times and customer service is subpar, I will be taking my pet somewhere else.

They groom my dog and 2 cats. They have been doing a great job on my cats for years. Now we bring our new puppy there too! My cats don't have a lot of patience so I'm glad the groomers here do. They are always kind to my animals my #1 concern! The dogs leaving the shop always look amazing. Couldn't recommend them enough! Animals all leave looking, smelling, and feeling amazing!

Used to love bringing my dogs here but recently I tried bringing one of them for a cut but magically all these vaccines were required for her to get groomed yet I’ve been bringing my dogs here for the last couple of years and I’ve only ever been asked about their rabies shots. Disappointed and will be looking for somewhere else to bring themEdit response to owner: we showed you a recent rabies vaccine that doesn’t expire until 2025 so I don’t know what you’re talking about. My issue is that I was never asked for anything other than a rabies vaccine but now it’s a problem that I don’t have all these other vaccines for my dog. Why is that? What’s different from the other times I’ve brought her in with ONLY the rabies shot?

They did a nice job on the haircut but she came home with a very large wound on her ear which is severe enough that she now needs medication to prevent infection. She has seasonal allergies this time of year and will scratch if left alone without a cone. I explained this and brought one with me for her to wear before and after the groom. What was described as a slight nick upon arrival is over half of her ear, with a large amount of blood. I’m disappointed because for the price I thought she would be in good hands.

I brought my baby here for her first groom ever and Tyler did amazing. Her cut is exactly what I asked for and she looks adorable. They’re all very nice and welcoming and when I arrived to pick her up she was getting love from Tyler and the other groomers. I was so nervous to drop her off and seeing her at pickup relieved any anxiety I had!

Horrible. They charged me extra because my cat freaked out at the hair dryers. She is a kitten, of course she's going to be scared of a hair dryer! Absolutely ridiculous.

I had taken my cat here before for a nail trimming and had no problem. Today I walked in and was greeted in a very rude matter. As most are, my cat is anxious to get her nails trimmed. She makes nervous noises every time we get to the groomers but it subsides once it is all over. They took one look at my cat and said, "I won't do that because I like my hands." They didn't even try to take her out of the carrier, and told me to try somewhere else. I mentioned I had been to Pawtero before, and they told me to "go somewhere else" and "buy CBD or something." I have never felt more upset for my poor kitty, I would recommend going somewhere professional and overall kind.

We took my family's three dogs here for a much overdue bath and grooming. They were very professional! The groomer spent about 10 minutes with me to discuss what exactly I wanted for each dog's hairstyle. We got EXACTLY what we wasked for! I'm very happy with pawtero and recommend taking your pup here!
