The store looks great and everything is in it's place-triggering better customer service and better quality of merchandise. Customers can't stress the staff and need to help them keep the store like it is. We all can do this and not wreck the store-inside and outside.

Never enough employees on registers, even though there is a massive line and 2-3 people behind the desk only 1 person will be ringing people out while the others just stand there. I live close by so I use this place a lot they close at 10 but they lock the door almost 10 minutes before it’s supposed to be closed I knock on the door and say I still have 5 minutes I just need 2 things, they look at me chuckle and wave me away. Other then that the store is clean and shelves have what I need most of the time. Don’t get me wrong it’s Whalley Ave New Haven you shouldn’t expect model employees, or should we?

I had a good experience. Everything I needed was in stock, the staff members were pleasant, the store was fully stocked and clean. There wasn't a long line, they actually had adequate shopping carts for customers and the cashier was nice. Much better experience than any other time I've gone to rhe Hamden location.

I like family Dollar on whalley in New Haven open early and stay open late.the people that work there are always friendly and their household items are quite charming I recommend them for starter apartments if your on a budget or not. It's just smart shopping they have some of everything. And they have have Dollar specials.....the atmosphere is always pleasant and Mangers are nice. Service good they respond when help is needed.

I have a problem that they want my purse behind the counter with them while I'm shopping & they're out of or don't sell the things on my list I don't want anything from them anyways & yet you let some slip by or for things like diaper bags & harass others. I have never stolen anything. I have a problem being sucked up to calling me names like I'm her girlfriend i don't even know them just be polite don't suck up to me like you did something wrong. I have a problem with that because the same disrespectful people talking to me this way have been consistent on double ringing items, ringing up stuff for themselves that I didn't bring to the counter, price gouging, price guessing & locking my daughter in the store while they took a break. How you taking someone's purse & lock them in the store like a hostage. This is not funny. The remodeling is more crowded & disorganized than before. The hate being shared in the store will end it.

The employees are excellent the answer your questions they direct you in the right eyes and they're extremely courteous and they greet you with smiles and I thank you for having such great people working for you thank you

I have an issue with being asked to leave my bag with the cashier behind the register the second I've entered the store. Maybe don't assume all the people who enter your stores are thieves

This location has nice employees but never enough of them working. Lines are long and the setup is not conducive to the flow of foot traffic of shoppers especially near the check out area. The hours posted seem to be incorrect at it says they open at 7am and here I sit at 8:37 am and they are not open. They need better management and the store needs to be a tad bit more organized!!

Staff were friendly enough, though they didn't greet me upon entry. They were helpful when asked questions and knowledgeable about item(s) multiple location(s).Parking was plentiful, though the woman outside begging for change, while not dangerous, was still cause for concern. Especially if you've small children. Apparently she's welcome there, as when her cellphone battery was low, she came into the store and without missing a beat, she plugged it into a plug AT the register and returned to her "post", to continue her "ACT", asking for "spare" change from people entering the store.Aside from that, the experience wasn't all that bad.

It's a great store and you can get some of the best deals and bargains at that store. The people that work there are amazing, wonderful people who are some of the greatest people you'll ever meet as well as VERY hard workers. I'm blessed to live so close to Family Dollar.😊😊😃➕

I go there alot but what's wrong this the guy that works there fallows you throw the store like your going to take something .my wife and have no need to steal anything from anyone or any storeI had enough I will never go there again. Not everyone that goes shopping there is a ThiefFrom 😃 to 😡

My Mobile Marlboro coupon didn't scan right, there was an error. They couldn't give me my $1.50 off, and because I had accessed the coupon already, I Couldn't access it again until midnight. They need to fix their system for coupons!!!

I visit this store very often... I live in new haven... in the past year i have to say this store has changed( different management) the cashiers are friendly and curtious... merchandise is easier to find and store is always clean no problems yet keep up the good work

The store definitely needs a lot of reorganization. However, the staff seems to be nice and helpful. I've never had a problem there. I've been shopping there for years.

The manager just sits behind the register on her phone. Talking about her husband and personal things instead of assisting customers when the line is ten people long. This made checking out longer than shopping time.

I had 2 run n there bcuz it was the closest & I was on a time frame but I stopped going here after the cashier left a theft tag on my merchandise then the manager acted like I stole it when I went 2 have it removed!! Did not apologize 4 their mistake either. Extremely poor customer service!! He flipped on me too!!

The store seems to always be dirty and aisles can be cluttered with unorganized displays, and the parking lot is very dark. The quality of the items in the store are very good, and will continue to go there for this reason.

They have everything you may need in this Store, the closest FD like that is in Allingtown, CT. It needs alittle cleaning, but its a great store, the prices are a little higher than other FD stores by about 50-75 cents more, thats when I head to the other store. I buy mostly all my household & paper products at FD. 👍

Good evening, I just want to reach out as a customer to let you know that your store on whalley ave in new haven on the corner of whalley ave and sperry st is disgusting, I walked in to get some cold bottle water and was appalled by the way it looks on the inside, under staffed, merchandise all over the floor, this should not be, it looks as if they open, do the bare minimum and then close. Not a good lock for the Family Dollar/Dollar Tree brand

Store does have a wide variety of items but store is always a mess. Staff dont really help you but will stare as if your stealing something. They never answer the phones. Dont have any idea about items or pricing.

This store is difficult to shop in if you are disabled.There is very little room for a wheelchair at the entrance and half the aisles..However once you are inside Ariyana D,Tiera E and Edgard are very helpful.The building is pathetic but the crew is GREAT.

Horrible service unprofessional the workers are the reason why retail gets a bad name and never have anything you need they will be wrong about something in the store and be rude and ignorant about it if you come don’t expect much other then the bare minimum if that’s even possible
