Do not use any debit card or credit card in this store someone that works this use my card info to get money from the CVS store i know that because i never used my card anywhere i only use my card there and CVS it's just up the street. I'm always shopping there and this happened to me i respect the store any everyone that works there

This store has went completely down hill, only 1 employee available I came here early two days in a row for the Black Friday sales and to my surprise nothing was placed on the already bare shelfs either day yet boxes fill each aisle causing you to be extremely careful walking through the establishment.

This location is in need of some upgrades. It’s not very well staffed or stocked.The only section that seems to have some type of organization and isn’t virtually bare is the food section. The rest of the store is a mess. I’ve been down here on a number of occasions and would ask when will xyz be in stock and it’s always we’re waiting for the delivery to come in on this day or that day, but when I go back to check afterwards, the item/s are still not there. The 3 people ( it could be more, but it seems like there is always just one cashier, one person putting items on the shelves, and occasionally one person bringing things to be put on the shelves that comes out from the stockroom) who work there are very nice and I’ve never had any issues with them. Don’t even bother to check online availability before going because it’s usually wrong.

Good customer service & they stayed open during the pandemic. The employees go through so much dealing with a few messy or rude customers, but they still maintain their composure. Thank you do the downtown New Haven Employees of dollar general.***All of you Rock!

This is the alternate place the shoplifters from the dollar store come.This is the affordable grocery store in New Haven when you need to grab something quick.Keep your eyes open some stuff way over priced like the refrigerator stuff.The little manager guy is always friendly and helpful.

So I'm pressed for time, I grab a couple of things I need, take my change & my receipt & dropp'em in my bag. Get to my next destination and notice I'm short on funds. I begin to back track when I notice the cashier double charged me. Days later I see'em & bring the incident to his attention & by his reaction I realize "It was done on purpose." Don't make my mistake? Count your change!

I stop at DG often, it's convenient and to be honest they have most of the things I buy on a regular basis. The workers do a really good job. I wasn't sure how I would feel about going with Covid 19 and everything, but it's no different than any other store. I would recommend it.

My digital coupons weren't all coming off as they should. Cashier was kind enough to price adjust an item so accommodate. Total actually came out to less than I was expecting.

It was cool. The manager is great. The staff is cool but they have some rude as* customers who don't understand 6 ft even though the staff is constantly asking them to comply.

I would give it 4 stars (minus one for not having everything I need), but I had to deduct another one for the fact that there's not only no enforcement for masks, you have one or two employees who think that wearing their mask around their necks counts as wearing one. You have the sign on the door "No admittance without a mask" but why would customers think they have to follow the rule if the employees don't have to? Your employees should be setting a good example. One of them even spouts his political beliefs at people whether they want to hear it or not. I don't care which side they're on, I don't want to hear it. I'm just there to get my Cheeto's or whatever and go home.

Nobody answers the phone I called five times and let the phone ring until it just stopped there's not even a voicemail at this place the employees are bit cocky doesn't seem to me like they're paying much attention to anything in the store the stocking is extremely inefficient whoever is the district manager of the store needs to get this store in line right away it could be so much better come on you don't just not answer the phone give me a break and you don't not have a voicemail so someone can leave a message that's another problem get it together!!!!!

I am a 57 year old disabled woman with incontinence problems I was there and had to use the restroom real bad I had plenty of items I was purchasing in my cart the employee was rude and her behavior was unnecessary I never experienced that in this store everyone is usually very nice and pleasant she needs retraining I wasn't someone walking in off the street I was a customer

Decent prices for essential items. It's about what you'd expect for this kind of store. There's reasonable wheelchair accessiblity, but no power assist door, so it can sometimes be a struggle to get in.

Such a small limited store that usually has enough but apparently only women need incontinence aid. They don't sell Depends for Men. Only women need them, evident by this store never ever stocking them. Sexism I say. Not proud to need these things, less proud to have to gripe about this finally publicly.

Store is convenient especially since I live near downtown, good variety of items to choose from and prices are somewhat reasonable, the staff however is much to be desired...The music played is loud and vulgar, the cashiers talk unprofessionally and have no customer service whatsoever, when checking out the cashiers feel the need to be on their cellphones texting and/or carrying on a conversation?! SMH

Store always has clearance right up front which I love cus I'm a clearance junkie and the fact u can use coupons here is even better yet...just doesn't get a 5 because of the chaos at check out time sometimes

I love the location, the staff was nice and knowledgeable about where their products at located. Down side is that the store is not kept clean, I kept running over items on the floor, and I picked up a few and put them on the shelf.

The line is always long and the cashier wouldnt sell me a cellphone from the case,they told me the phones were all broken. Then the cashier told me to find the manager in the back instead of paging the manager to the front.

The employees here are the worst. They are rude to practically every customer that comes through the door. They act as if they are inconvenienced with any question you ask. They blatantly allow theft to occur. The owner should really take a look at the store.
