Large store with a nice selection. Everything felt organized and cohesive and the prices were fairly average in terms of local competitors. It would be nice if there was more of a hot food selection, however I appreciated the organic section with a wide array of cold items to choose from. Shopper rewards were applied without a membership (not sure if this is the norm) and associates were pleasant. A larger cart selection would also be nice (seemed like only large carts or hand baskets were available), but it was nice to shop during peak hours and not feel suffocated. Highly recommend.

This store is constantly dirty, not stocked, terrible produce, and has very unhelpful and unfriendly employees. As if it's not bad enough to deal with grocery prices on the rise due to terrible inflation - this place doesn't even seem to value my business. If i could find a more convenient place to shop I certainly would and if I could give zero stars I would as well.Thanks for nothing.

I really just can't stand going to this grocery store because of the girl that works the self checkout in the morning ... She paces back and forth and invades your personal space, also gets involved in your transaction when it's not necessary... I didn't ask for help, I don't need your input .. I have to bite my tongue from asking if she thinks I'm stealing! With how much she is paying attention to everything I do…. Just saying It's annoying to spend $60 plus dollars on 7 items and have the employee stare at you as if your doing something wrong. It makes me uncomfortable, gives me anxiety and frankly stresses me out! Maybe her skills would be better suited for a different department.. instead of pacing back and forth in the self checkout as of shes guarding the declaration from Independence from being stolen !

The New Fairfield Stop & Shop always has amazing deals not to mention you are earn points as you spend money and then you can get a lot of savings off of gas at Shell or Stop & Shop gas stations. Stop & Shop is always clean well stocked and has a very friendly staff. you will always be well taken care of!

Criminally high prices because they’re the only big name grocery in town so they can get away with it without losing too much business. I’d rather drive 30 extra minutes round trip to save $100 on groceries at another retailer the town over. For example, why buy an avocado for 1.40$ when I can get them for .70¢ and get the same quality without being price gouged?Not to mention that I’ve gotten mouldy produce and expired dairy more times in the past two years than I can count on one hand. Gross.You’d think with the prices they charge, they’d be able to offer more than minimum wage, but nope! I wonder where all that extra money goes…

This Stop and Shop in New Fairfield CT. is referred to as the Local 7-11.Asthey have very limited variety of product lines. I had to ask the to bring in Hunts catsup ! seriously. Natural casing Pork and Beef hot Dogs only in large volume and only one brand. As for Poultry, fresh turkey is only seasonal, Fresh turkey parts almost never. Momma Mancini prepared meat ball, they usually only stock the Cheese filled, ( not good at all. )The Deli is a joke. Kiosk usually out of order. the ticket taking machine was also out of order on the same visit.!!!you never know what thickness of sliced cold cuts you will get ,no matter what you specify you usually get what they give you.Most annoying is that they require their employees to CARD even seniors for Beer. Telling you that is the State law to ask everyone for ID for beer.This is an outright lie,Here is the CT Law:STATEMENT TO PROVE AGE (CGS § 30-86A)The law requires liquor sellers to require anyone whose age is in question to complete an age statement form and prescribes the form. In completing the form, the customer states that he is over 21 years old, knows that the law prohibits liquor sales to someone younger, and knows that the penalty for willfully misrepresenting one’s age is a fine of up to $ 150 for a first offense and up to $ 250 for subsequent offenses.There is NO Law requiring asking the elderly for Proof of age!!!Other annoyance, this store only has a a single combined entrance and exit door way, no partition. the the is entrance only, Why?Produce is usually weak, Onions small and low quality, On many occasionally russet potato poor quality or low inventory. Lemons usually OK, Lime usually too small low quality and too expensive.Almost as insulting as being a 67 year old person asked for proof of age is the condition of the Stop and Shop Shopping carts!!! most all plastic handle are broken and most all if not all of the carts have damages wheels, missing rubber making annoying noises clunking on the floor and useless steering. That should be a clue as to what Stop and Shop thinks of their customers.It should also be embarrassing to Management as it says a lot about them. It make one wonder what other more critical hardware in the store is so poorly maintained?The can/bottle recycling is a joke, machines are usually full or broken.If this store was not so close by I would have no reason to shop there.The Pros:Friendly Staff,occasionally good sales on Meats, usually short lines at check out.

They don't put things on sale to save you money they put them on sale because they are expired or expiring in a day or two. I'd say one out of three things I bring home from"on sale" home has already expired and that is 100% unacceptable.You call and they tell you to bring it back because we all have time for that. Also if I do bring it back for "double the money" you'll see me twice per week. How about just save us time and money by good management and not trying to scam us? Bs

I called to pick up balloons that were ordered for my daughters birthday. I was told there was no one working at florist tonight so therefore no one would be able to blow up the balloons that I ordered. I was told to call around to other stop and shops and see if they could help me…. Seems impossible to get good customer service

Love shopping here. The meat had been great. The deals are pretty decent. Love shopping with the scanner so you know what your spending as you shop. The store is very clean and well stocked. I love that they have a huge and fully stocked pet aisle.

They are typically a great store. One day though, I went to customer service and no one was behind the counter. The store manager ( a middle-aged black man) went back there without a greeting or anything. I asked for help and he refused and said the guy would be right back. He said he must be on a break.. are you kidding me? Who made this guy a store manager? I am appalled after being in retail for 20+ years that you could ever make a customer wait and blow them off like he did.

Super nice hard working staff and I appreciate that... But I gotta be honest here and I hate to do it... but this place has to improve... more than half the time the produce I bring home is already mostly bad... they seem to always have someone shuffling around produce so it looks better- to fool you into buying it... I hate having to drive another 10 minutes to go to stew Leonard's or Shop Rite just to guarantee quality.Oh yea and expired beer drives me 100% crazy.

Returned recycle bottles/cans this am. Filled one of two plastic machines. Spoke with only cashier I could find, service desk was not open yet. After completing my returns I went to the service desk as it was after 8 am, 8:05 am the staff started to address the line that had formed. I requested the store manager and described the situation. He apologized after stating that store policy was to address full bins within five minutes of being informed. After returning to my vehicle I decided to recheck the full and beeping plastic machine. Next I checked the clock on this smart phone. I started the stopwatch when I first informed the cashier. It was thirty-four minutes and counting. Suggestion: connect the full beeper in parallel to a distinctive flashing prominent light in the store Make it green for recycle.

This store is disgusting! Dirty, ruined produce at high prices. Bought corn all dried out. Lack of products. Haven’t shopped there for about 4 months, went today and will never shop there again. The overall quality compared to competitors is a big negative! Will go to competitor ShopRite.

I like Stop and Shop but recently I realized the V8 juice we bought is expired and has been since June 2021. I am disgusted since I drank it all and of course noticed after the fact. Recommend checking the dates on what you buy at this location

Excellent grovery store. Every staff member I've interacted with has been pleasant and willing to help you even if they're busy. They all seem to know where everything is. It's a large store with stuff you might not expect to see at a stop and shop, especially in an area like new fairfield. The bakery is excellent and they have a huge variety of fresh goods. The meat dept is solid. The prices are high, but it's 2019 and sheeeeeiiiittttt everything is expensive nowadays.

I don't know what it is about this store but I always try to avoid coming here if possible, the layout is confusing, and alot of times they don't carry what I need or if they do it's not in the size I need it. It's beyond freezing in there. I left there tonight shivering. Literally I feel like they had the air conditioning on (It's 21 degrees outside) I did complain and was told with a laugh that it's always cold like that. As the only major grocery store in this area this Stop and Shop is in need of a major overhaul!

It's a pretty standard Stop & Shop that has everything that you need. Sales are pretty good too and generally has a good a group of employees that are friendly and helpful. It can be a little confusing finding certain items but overall it's perfectly fine.

Can't see the signage for each aisle unless you stand in the aisle. I asked the manager why he didn't put the signs for each aisle in the main corridors in the front and rear of the store and he said to me "well, how would a person standing in the aisle, know what was there?". I pointed out that if they were in the aisle they could easily see what was there.Many aisles are stacked so high you can't see those signs now in the next aisle, now can a person of average or shorter statue reach items placed on the upper shelves.More than once fruit and meat has been rotting when I got it home. Nice employees, discusting store.

Stop and Shop is your typical supermarket, has most of what you need and will be put out of business by Amazon in a few years.Why don't they have a simple kiosk to help you find the 1 thing you're looking for? Unless you live there you often need to go up and down every aisle if it's not one of the 8 things on the aisle sign. Who would ever find the buttermilk that is on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator and out of sight - you need to be on your hands and knees. And why are there ever long lines at checkout? Why make it hard for people to give your their money?!? Even Stew's figured out that you open more lines when taking people's money, duh!No gluten free flour, no star anise...I could go on and on. Those things are a click away at Amazon, and now they own Whole Foods so it doesn't take a crystal ball to see what's coming.The shopping experience Stop and Shop provides hasn't changed in 100 years, and if they think that's okay for the generation after us then it won't be long before they go the way of Sears and Caldors.

They have a large, separate area for self checkout. They generally have lots of manned registers open as well and usually have someone to bag your groceries. It's always clean and the staff is very friendly.

So, I returned to Stop & Shop a few days after they reopened from the strike. As I was waiting to get checked out, I heard the cashier welcome back the two people ahead of me. When it was my turn to move up, I didn't get my 'welcome back' from the cashier. It wasn't until I said 'welcome back', that I got acknowledged..After paying what I owe, I started walking and can you guess what I heard the cashier say to the person behind me...?? Yep, 'welcome back'.

Expired food! Make sure you check the dates!!!!! I guess they think putting all of the expired cupcakes in the fridge will make it ok. Some were more than a month expired. Not cool to give your kids expired cupcakes because you thought they were cute and in a rush

Good grocery store... Although the Graham crackers aren't in the same section as the marshmallows and the chocolate. I was wondering the store for a good twenty minutes before I was able to find the ghram crackers. Nice organic section!

I'm really upset over writing this post since I made a lot of friends in this store since my husband and I live so close. Recently, in the past week during my normal food shopping, I've noticed a lot of things going "bad". The first was when I bought a tub of chopped cauliflower and it went bad in a matter of hours. (I live two minutes from the store so no, it wasn't in my car for a long period of time) The second, was earlier this morning. I packed my husband a lunch as I always do and he noticed something off about his quinoa. Thankfully he noticed before he was about to eat it, the product that I bought off the shelves this past week had expired in MARCH!!!So if they can spend thousands of dollars on a robot that does nothing but roll around and 'beep' then maybe they should pay better attention to their shelves? I'm truly sad to say that Shop Rite may be my go-to from now on.
