I am writing this review to express my deep disappointment and frustration with the level of rudeness and lack of customer service I experienced at your store location. As a doctor with over 30 years of experience, I have never encountered such unprofessional behavior in any establishment.My intention was to start sourcing our promotional meet-up supplies and office supplies from your store, which would have brought a significant amount of revenue to your establishment. As an IVF clinic with frequent events for clients, we require basic items such as chips, dips, cookies, and office supplies. Given the high volume of our office, this partnership could have greatly benefited your store's revenue.However, during my recent visit to the store with my wife, we were met with utter disregard and disrespect. The cashier, who was engrossed in a personal phone conversation on speaker, ignored us for approximately 15 minutes. She audibly complained about customers and expressed her excitement about becoming an assistant manager, all while rolling her eyes and making derogatory comments about me being a white male.It is important to note that I am of Puerto Rican and Colombian descent, and my skin color should not determine the level of respect and service I receive. The cashier's comments and unprofessional behavior were completely uncalled for and unacceptable. Her dismissive attitude, slamming of the bag on the counter, and telling me to leave only further highlighted her lack of suitability for a customer service role.I visited your store around 6:50pm, and this incident occurred at approximately 7 pm or maybe a few minutes after on August 21st, 2023 .The fact that this employee was proudly discussing her new assistant manager position while treating customers with such disdain is deeply concerning. Her comments about me and her overall unprofessionalism have left a lasting negative impression.As a result of this experience, I will not be shopping at this location again, and I will discourage anyone I know from doing so as well. It is disheartening to witness such a lack of respect and disregard for customers in a retail establishment.I hope that you take this feedback seriously and address the issues at this store location. To the short cubby Spanish chick working there today 8/29/23 at 2 pm . I’m coming to the store after work and see if you tryna yell at me like you yelled at my kids. Just got a call my daughter crying this chick yelled at my kids cuz they were in the store talking and she swore at my daughters calling them names and she accused them of stealing. What kind of store is going to be in between two schools yet they racism and they against white people. So she acting like my kids steal imma go see her cuz they don’t answer they phones and see if she tryna yell at a full grown adult.y’all don’t have security after work remember us and lose that attitude pootaaah

Caught the manager Sam smelling the shelf while sliding her nose to the right, asked her if shes okay and she gave me an attitude and stormed off. I don't understand why she's so mean. Everyone else who works there is very nice.

Can get everything you need in one store all at a really good price. I really like how its never really too packed with people. I am happy with the way the clerks are kind and treat you nice. I will always choose dollar general over Walmart any day.

Quick shopping enabled.Great customer service from employees, bathroom always clean, the place is always fully stocked! The Con is when afternoon rush hour is going on they cant seem to have enough employees at a given time. The cashier should not be stocking the aisle one second the speed walking to the register the next! I mean what for! Have two people working per shift but have a third person come in every day at morning shift or end of shift for 4 to 6 hours to stock and unload the trucks!

Worker Julio always has a nasty attitude like any question or action he does is a favor towards us. very short and unhelpful with answers for questions and overall has an aggressive, i dont care attitude. He tried to start a fight and threaten me. Also being hassled about wearing a backpack. i travel by scooter skateboard and feet so carrying a backpack is mandatory. This store is also located in the middle of New Britain Highschool and Vance Elementary so dont understand what they expect the children to do. Also they always lock there doors before the shown closing time.

This store never opens on time like they are suppose. I have actually sat in the parking lot waited till 9am and watched an employee come out get in his car and leave . They need to run this store better . And the inside is always cluttered and never organized

Updated below1/4 of the aisle have been empty for about a month while they do a reset. The cash registers crash sometimes and they have to reboot the entire system to get it working again (so everyone has to wait for 5-10 minutes while it reboots). There is often only one person working in front during busy times, so the line is long. The people working there who I have interacted with over the past few months are great, so it seems to be just poor management.Reset is complete but still only one person seems to work there even when busy, so line is long. Registers are still problematic, and they didn't even have any bags today to put my purchases in.

It takes forever to check out, not recommended for quick purchases. Also the music is always loud in the food section, between the fluorescent lights and loud radio you cant even think it's so bad. And to be perfectly honest the prices aren't that much of a savings. The only reason I shop here is the convince of location.

I like the fact that it is close to where I live. I was able to get. What I needed. I was able to get rung up quickly, there was one person ahead of me. Usually, the place has a long line at the register and many times only one cashier.

I love this store and not because its the closest store to me but because most of the staff is very down to earth and friendly. The only issue i have had is that they wouldnt sell me cigs.. im 27 years old and i had an ID but it was expired. I guess its company policy but just because its expired doesnt mean my birthday is gonna change. So other than that one issue i love the store. They are always rearranging to make the store more organized n looking good.

Basic store, you’ll find what you’ll need for the most part. But it’s far from spotless & customers service is far from great. Last time I went the cashier couldn’t bother to get off her phone while ringing me out.

Wouldn’t Waste The Time Just go to family dollar or Walmart They Are Never Fully stocked always look empty and ran down. Can someone tell me how dollar general are popping up every corner but can’t keep the store properly stocked

It is 11-20-18 @ 9:45 am, I just walked out of dollar general and was absolutely dissatisfied. There is a pregnant young lady working in there who is acting like she doesn't want to be there at all. When I first walked in I slipped in the foyer area where the carts are, there wasn't a rug to wipe feet from rain or a caution wet floor sign up. I explained to the lady that they should have a rug there and she told me they couldn't have a rug there bc it would soak up too much water (i thought thats what rugs do). I went in to buy some hair gel and a soda, the store was completely trashed for it to be 9:30 in the morning. When I got to the register this man came in (had to be close to 80 yrs old) and explained to the lady that he had bought a magazine 2 days ago with a July date on it, she told him before he finished his sentence, that there wasn't anything she could do about it bc magazines don't have an expiration date, but everyone knows magazines are sold up to date. She acted like she didn't care what this man was saying and I truly believe his age played a part in why this situation didn't get rectified. I have been to many dollar generals and never experienced anything like this one. I will not be returning to dollar general on Arch street in New Britain until they get employees with better customer service skills. Word of mouth goes a long way and I will not be recommending this location to anyone either.

This place in N.B. is always a hot mess... One employee was telling me the medicine I was looking for was at the shelf and I asked her "where is it because I don't see it?" And she walks over with an attitude and says "it's right there!"... (Paused) and then says "oh I thought it was there!" WHEN REALLY YOU DID NOT HAVE THE MEDICINE!!! WHATS THE ATTITUDE FOR??!!

Everyone at this location was so awesome & helpful! Definitely the best dollar store I've been to all month! (And i go to all 3--dollar tree, fam dollar & dollar general--stores...dollar tree is definitely the worst of them all, everywhere except qn st)

The staff is very rude specially the cashier she would not give me a bag for the milk and when I asked she put a mean face and was rude. The line is way too long to pay because the employees are chatting and joking and wont attend customers. The store is very disorganized. No products on the shelfs all empty.

Lots of cheap prices on processed food. No fresh food items available, all frozen or packaged goods. Not all prices are actually cheaper than grocery stores. However, it's open late and right near my neighborhood.
