We have brought our boxer Roxy here twice now will continue to do so. Roxy has high anxiety and is one of the rare that will stop eating when kenneled as she thinks that she has been abandoned. This second time we brought canned dog food to assist in the kennel bribing her into eating. Thomas gave her extra attention, petting, and took the time to mix 1/4 can into her normal food so that she would eat some. Their facility is very clean and they are genuinely caring towards the dogs boarded here. Their boarding rates are transparent and very reasonable.

Great place! Our dog loves this facility and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. It's cash or check for payment, but the prices are very reasonable and transparent. Easy to get to and good hours. Give them a shout the next time you need to board a dog!

This was our dogs first time being kenneled at Apex. Thank you for taking such great care of our dogs Penny, and Bailey. My dogs were spoiled and loved while at Apex. I called to check on my dogs after their first night, and Tom called me once while we were away to let me know how well my dogs were doing. You can tell that Tom loves what he does. My dogs got a bath before they came home, and were brushed too. We will definitely be bringing our dogs back to Apex. Thank you for a great experience and loving my dogs!

We have used Apex Stoney Brook kennel many time for both our dogs - Max and Sheba. They are professional, caring and reliable. The first time I left our pets at the kennel (many years ago now & the first time at any kennel !) I cried all the way home..... While I wouldn't have expected it - Tom (one of the owners) took the time to call me while I was away to let me know that both Max and Sheba were doing fine.... that to me speaks volumes ! Not fancy but that's not what really matters to me - it's knowing my "fur-babies" are in good hands.

Friendly family owned business! The kennel and office area is kept clean and tidy. They have their own kennel food if you wish to use it or you can bring your own. It's recommended to bring your own blankets so your pet is comfy, unless your pet is destructive then I'd advise against it. They are conscious of different breeds needs and provided our mastiff with a raised feeder. Discounted rates for military and extended stays are offered. PLEASE NOTE: that they only accept cash or checks, not credit or debit cards.

Familiar with many breeds. My German shepherd is an angel for them and normally doesn’t like people. I have them walk and bathe my dog when he’s there for extended stays. I tend to call last minute and they have always been accommodating with my schedule. They genuinely care about you and your pets!

Ellen and Tommy are wonderful, Ellen is very knowledgeable with our 4 legged friends, Tommy is definitely a go getter! Together they have an amazing team! Two of the kindest people that truly care for animals, they are both very detailed oriented, and pay close attention to each and every animal. I have boarded my cats at Apex for over one month, they catered to my needs and provide a safe environment. I would definitely recommend Apex for boarding cats and dogs!

I heard so many positive experiences with this kennel and saw the great reviews. It all looked very promising. First time boarder, I boarded my two dogs here August 26th-30th. One of my dogs has a poultry allergy. Each dog is on a different food. Everything was labeled from food, bowls, feeding instructions. Mishaps happen but I got a call that my poultry allergy dog was fed my puppy's chicken food. From assuming the color of the kibble than reading the labels on everything.Our trip got cut short so the dogs were picked up Sunday morning. Upon pick up, the dogs came running into the office looking dazed. Once the dogs were situated on leashes, I noticed a distinct smell of urine and saw something crusted on their face and bodies. They reeked. When leaving, they were barely responsive upon calling them. I figured they were tired from playing. After they were bathed, they started to act more themselves. Sunday night I hear one of my dogs coughing. It's been determined he has kennel cough. I'm unsure how this happened when all dogs are required the bordatella vaccine. Or my dogs had been in contact with another client's dogs in the play pen or in passing.

We boarded our 8 year old cat Blot at Apex Stoney brook kennel during a long and difficult move between AK, FL and CT from 17 Dec 2013 until 14 January 2014. We found the kennel exceptional when dropping her off including the professional but personable folks that own and work the kennels. The cat condos were amazing and our somewhat travel traumatized pet settled right in. When we picked her up she was in great shape and spirits and all the small personal touches of the owner Ellen and her son Tom made a great impression on both my husband and myself. We will not hesitate to use them again when we need a kennel and count ourselves fortunate to have found them!

This kennel is wonderful. Very reasonably priced and family-owned. My dog is afraid of strangers but Tom is so good with her! I wouldn't even consider going elsewhere now.

We used them before for our previous dog Bunji, he was with Tom and mom for about 13 days and when we got back to pick him up, he was looking amazing like the day we dropped him off, now we have another dog an American Bully we took him there and everything was perfect, they take care all the animals with love, I recommend them hands down.
