Bob was beyond helpful! I am getting two tanks started and he had everything I needed to get them set up. He also took the time to explain how everything worked and what I would need to have the best success. I will be back in the next couple days for some fish once my water is ready!Also, thank you so much to Bob and his team for getting everything ready so quickly for me at the last minute. Bob and his entire staff at Exotic fish & corals have been incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and encouraging. They helped me set up my own first saltwater tank last year (photos) and continue to guide me through maintenance and care. Prices are reasonable and the shop is clean and organized and I find myself compelled to look around at the new fish and wide variety of beautiful coral they get in weekly. I’ve seen sharks, stingrays, seahorses, horseshoe crabs, berghia nudibranchs and all sorts of very unique things for sale. Thank you Bob, and the rest of the staff for being so awesome. If you are looking for coral or fish in CT this is the place you want to go to!

They're very knowledgeable, they know their stuff. They always have nice exotic corals and healthy fish. The people that work there are not only willing to help you, they want to help you with any kind of questions. I've been a customer for over25yrs, and I would never go anywhere else.Whenever I see something that I get ecstatic about and I want that coral or that fish that I saw online in someone’s tank or just on our website. I would always go to Bob and and give him my business than any other large business, etc. he gets fish and Corals for beginners too experienced hobbyist. You’ll always be surprise walking into his pet store.. octopuses, sharks, eels, that you can’t find in other places and fishes in Corals that are rare/ hard to get. Exotic fish and corals always makes me happy with the quality of fish or coral which ever you may be buying all the way down to freshwater fish. So I’d say being a customer for over 25 years tells you a lot about his company and his employees. Best place ever and getting better…..

I have driven by this place for years and finally decided to stop in. The selection of exotic fish and coral is intoxicating! So many interesting specimens to look at. The young man on staff took the time to tell me about the contents of each and every tank! Hats off to this young man. He is an asset your your business!

I don’t even know where to start! Bob is an amazing resource and took our family through the purchasing process through the maintenance process. He was not pushy and completely receptive to our wants. My kids and I were purchasing an aquarium as a gift for my wife and Bob delivered the best gift ever! I cannot wait for the next time to go buy more fish for our tank and am confident I will be guided in the right direction by Bob and his staff. The best experience ever!!!

Great store to shop at. If you don't see it make sure and ask... Others get fish and corals from a distributor, He gets them direct from the source. He can import anything you want (that's legal of course).. great prices and awesome assortment. A few items I picked up today.

Bob is extremely passionate, honest, knowledgeable and cares deeply about his customers & his product. He’s not about selling you a fish or a product that’s going to set you up for failure, if your water is not ready for fish he won’t sell you something just so it passes away the next day. He will be honest before trying to make a sale. He will make sure your water, tank, filter and set up are 100% to ensure a healthy tank and fish so your not waisting money. I highly recommend you to pick his brain and patron exotic fish & corals. You absolutely will not be disappointed!

Bob from Exotic Fish & Corals was very kind and knowledgeable. He medicated bloodworms for my two pea pufferfish I purchased from a different store who were sick. I ended up buying a dragon stone and two live plants that came in great condition. The other staff were also very kind during my visit. I found a place I can trust with the needs of my fish. Thank you!

Great place to buy fish! Yesterday I got a Blonde Naso, African powder blue, blue spotted jawfish, and 6 green Chromis! All look healthy and are doing great in the quarantine tank! Bob the owner is also a great guy, super friendly, and very knowledgeable on all things aquatic! Definitely come check out his store and the new additions!!!!!

I’ve just started getting my saltwater aquarium together and I’ve honestly been a little nervous about the process after meeting the owner of exotic fish and coral those feelings have fleeting left he took the time to explain to me a few key points on getting started and how to be successful as well as offered to mentor and monitor me and my tank. I can say I’ll be returning and you should stop in as well.

I never thought I would find another fish store with as much knowledge as much honesty and as fair as I had back in Jersey, however I did. Bob the owner is amazing, hes knowledgeable amd he helped me out financially by giving me deals no one else possibly could. He cares about the customer. In the fish world sales is a priority but not for Bob he cares about you amd the under going renovations proves his honesty his fairness and his good nature allowed him the means to expand and create a shopping experience that keeps your fish alive and keeps frustration and giving up on a Hobbie that also brings beauty into your home to an absolute minimum. Trust is hard to find. I back Bob 100%. Don't mind the renovations, it's gonna be a paradise hot spot soon enough

Awesome store and knowledgeable staff. We were switching from fresh water to salt and Bob is great and so helpful with information and setting you up with everything you need. We got our whole set up and when we got home we realized we needed a bit more water to top it off. Bob came to the rescue and met us at a local place by us and brought us some water! I don’t know anywhere else who would do that for you! Definitely will be recommending to anyone we know looking for a great store!

Great store with a friendly staff. I’ve been in the reef and fish game for 20 years and the whole staff has been helpful and friendly throughout. They are personable and will help you through any issues you may have. Ignore the bad reviews, reefing could be very disappointing at times and folks tend to lash out on the local fish store, behind the screen. ALSO, If you walk in and have a question, just ask. Don’t expect to be thrown out a red carpet, or followed around like you’re buying a car, some folks like to spend the time and browse on their own time.Thanks exotic fish and coral! Y’all are great!!

Awesome place. I wholeheartedly disagree with the person who said they’re rude. The owner, Bob, is really easy going and patient. He got my son and I up and running with our first ever saltwater tank. We knew nothing, and he worked with us over many weeks to get things going the right way and with the right equipment. (His employees are equally friendly and easy going.)Really great selection of livestock (marine and freshwater) and corals. Check out the big tank with the shark and eel. Wow!

If you are an avid saltwater aquarium hobbyist, you would find Bobby’s store to be a essential part of that fun and sometimes painful journey. I have been Bobby’s customer for over 15 +years (hopefully 15 more). Don’t listen to the negative reviews… they really don’t know what they are talking about! Go to his store and make your own judgement… you will be surprised! Great selections of corals, fish, fish food and equipment for you to get started! Make sure you listen to his industry/hobby knowledge… you will gain some insights. Whether it be “I am new to this hobby, how do I get started” to “ I bought this from this store or online, how do I make it work”. Bobby will help you… yes even with products he didn’t sell you!

Hands down this place totally deserves 5 stars. Just moved to the area and have been in the hobby for about 5 years. Bob’s customer service skills were one of the best I’ve ever came across. Took his time explaining the different types of corals. The prices were very reasonable for what I’m use to paying. Literally from the moment I walked in all I can think was “So many to choose from”, great selection of SPS, LPS and softies. Glad I got the chance to come here today, would definitely recommend this place to everyone. BOB thank you for being such a great person!

I have been going through Bob for many years. He is always available to accomodate me with anything I am looking for. ( If he does not have it he gets it) Exotic Fish & Coral is true to their guarantee policy (although I've never had to use it) for satisfaction. He and the staff are trustworthy and knowledgeable as well. Whether you are having him come to clean your tank, treat an illness or outbreak in your tank, or tank sit while you are on vacation. Highly recommend of the whole group

Always there then you need him. Recently 6/16/21 I woke up to water under my 300gal reef. Both my bulkheads were cracked and leaking. At 8am I texted Bob 911 with a short message and he called me back within 5 minutes. He met me at his shop 30 minutes later to get me the new bulkheads I needed. This is not the first time he has come through for me. When I first started out My reef light craped out while I was on vacation. Bob barely even knew me at this point. He went to my home took my corals and held them for me until I could make it home and get a new light. He has great stock and is always willing to try and get anything you need. I will defiantly be a lifelong customer.

love exotic fish and coral! been going to them for over 10 years. bob is so helpful. the fish and corals that he sells is fantastic. his store is the only local store i go to. great store!!!after being in the hobby since 2004 to 2011 and going to bob’s store, i recently setup a 10 gallon reef tank, with ai primes from bob, and bta from him. tank is awesome. love it! great store!!

Easily the go to fish store around the area, no others compete with the quality of fish and friendliness of the staff. Bob and Mark are very knowledgably and are always there to answer any questions. The store focuses on salt water and coral, but is not lacking in freshwater fish and equipment at a reasonable price.

STAY AWAY. If I could give zero stars I would I would highly recommend staying away from this shop and the owner Bob. The owner is a compulsive liar. I was calling to see if they were open because when you look up the store hours it will say they are open but he is always closed. I drove to the store so many times and no one is ever their. And when you try and call Bob he will always say he is going to the airport to pick up hundreds of boxes of live stock. He will proceed to tell you to come back and he will give you great discounts he will promise you the world but then when and if you catch the store open he will tell you all his coral and fish are not for sale. His prices are ridiculously high. Two weeks ago Bob was on his usual daily trip to the airport to pickup 9 boxes of fish I called to ask why he was not open when his Facebook page said he was. I explained I was about to order 2 fairly expensive fish from liveaquaria.com he immediately told me he was getting in 9 bluespot jawfish and he would sell me one for 79.00 and he would also get me the wrasses I wanted he said if I purchased from liveaquaria.com I would get ick and pay a ton of money. I asked him if he was definitely getting in the fish on Tuesday he said 100 percent. I called him on Tuesday and he said they weren't in and assured me he was getting them in Wednesday and to come in Thursday and I would have first pick. I asked him again are you sure he said definitely and he would make sure they were eating. I called him Thursday guess what he had them but they were up in Fairfield Connecticut and he couldn't get them. He said to come back tomorrow. I said Bob I can't and I would drive up to Fairfield and also give him extra money. Unfortunately Bob couldn't make that happen the point is he is a compulsive lier and he never had the fish or was even getting them. Save yourself a headache and go to WET PETS OR BLAKES AQUARIUM DEN. They will help you the correct way.
